Thanks for watching, everyone! Sorry about the odd mic inconsistency -- i initially planned this as 15 min. video, but as i was editing, more and more just kept getting added as I kept watching the game footage. Seems everytime i plan a short video, i make a long one, or a long one ends up being a short one. lol! Hoping you all have a great weekend. :)
I think it's wonderful to get such a longer video for a less noticed character. Misty is someone I sort of relate in parts and wish there was just a few more conversations
Being shot in the head by a pistol, is really not as bad in cyberpunk, its fairly clear that V has either skinweave or subermal armor on his face. Just prey they are not using AP shells and don't get shot in the mouth.
Hey! I'm the commenter from your Jackie video! Thanks so much for adding my thoughts on the Jackie's Garage scene! 😄 I love your breakdown of Misty, she really is an awesome character.
Misty was a charecter made for subsequent playthroughs, you dont hear her on the first playthrough, but on the second her words start to carry more weight to the player, her readings and the locations of the tarot cards all have deep symbolic meanings behind them for v/johnny
This is very true. Initially she seems just the quirky girfriend of your goofball best friend. It's easy to dismiss her as a dreamer in a tough world. But after listening to her a few times, you start to see that not only is she a good, caring person, but a wise one. Panam is still my faveourite female character in the whole game though, for the simple reason that she represents life and living hard as you can, pure and simple.
here and gary. first playthru for atleast half the game you just think their crazy/weird. after you figure them out and the world you understand they knew more then you or they could have every imagined. thou they have their problems their some of the only people in this world who care enough to try and fix it even if their efforts arent the best suited for the world they live in.
@@SussySerbo Ngl it took me till my 3rd playthrough where I basically made v into johnny throughout the game did I actually listen to misty, actually did the tarot cards and it's a pretty interesting experience, it feels like even the writers knew most people dont actually head Misty's warnings
if you dont see the parallels between Misty's reading and the stuff going on in the game, you just didn't want to listen. it doesn't take multiple playthroughs
V leaving her behind after her boyfriend and your best friend fucking DIES is criminal. I never wanted a relationship with her, that’d be fuuuuucked up. But I wish we could do more with her like just hanging out, going places with her. Anything. Just abandoning Misty after everything feels so scummy.
To be completely fair that's not V's fault, it's Reed and the FIA, they either lied or were misinformed about how long the surgery would be and also what it would entail. Tinfoil hat time but the Neural matrix is a device used to capture and contain rogue AI from beyond the wall, this is confirmed by both Alex and Songbird, that's why everyone has such ironclad faith it can help Song or V because they both have AI working their way through their nervous system and psyche. However people theorize the coma V was put under was not a coma at all, Militech isn't in the habit of sparing people who know too much, aren't useful, or have dicked them over in the past and yet V remains unscathed mostly, why? Because they used those 2 years to study the relic Biochip, it's a device used to install a digital psyche into a physical organic body. The combination of relic and personality construct tech and the Neural matrix to capture, contain and inevitably control the personalities would make a legion of super soldiers unquestioningly loyal to Militechs goals, you know like maybe V was against their knowledge or consent during the time skip.
@@lydiscott I know! V wasn’t even on his way to check on Misty he was going to root through Jackie’s stuff for the Ofrenda he just ran into her when she was really going through it. Poor misty :(
Well atleast we can put Momma Welles and Misty together after the Ofrenda. :) Still i hope that we soon get the full mod tools and someone changes the lack of Misty stuff in the game and gives us exactly that, that we can interact with her more and help her, be a friend and go places.
I feel like that’s all apart of the sad reality of the storyline. Night city is a futuristic gunslinger cowboy town. There’s beauty in it, but it mostly ends is strife over happiness; because death is an inevitability, regardless of the chrome or rebreathers you have. I think misty probably understands that better than most people since she reads the tarot cards for others and has a bit more insight into others’ fates. A lot of the time you see her being a loaner, that’s most likely a big part of her personality. I think V probably realized that too and that’s why he tends to leave her to her own devices rather than push for comforting her. Everyone in this town has experiences and learns to live with them, rather than constantly trying to unload them onto others in order to get help from friends. It’s apart of the grief that is night city.
Misty's predictions, not just the ones related to the tarot, are startlingly spot on. You say she doesn't sway you, but everything she says actually pushes you toward the hidden ending. "Life wasn't easy for my Jackie, but he found the courage to bet on himself", the line about Jackie taking a bullet for her relates to the selflessness required to activate the hidden ending as it's essentially V taking on the risk of tackling Arasaka by themselves to Spare Rogue and the Aldecaldos an unnecessarily gruesome fate. When she's giving you the moment of silence and ask what Jackie decided up on the roof, she says "you know, 'gonna be a legend in this city!"' then tells you to "take your time". If you "take your time" (5 minutes to be precise) and have a good relationship with Johnny where you called him out for his behavior but allow him the opportunity to make amends, he will propose a suicide run that if successful results in V becoming a legend. Misty always knows is kind of an accurate statement.
“Avoid bright reds” she warns jackie, Dexter deshawn is a walking red flag, Arasaka is drenched in red, ..i think he realised her warning was right, when he saw his own red blood during the end of the heist. During his death..
I like your thought process, but I think you're misreading something here and it's really important. Both endings where V becomes a "legend" are bad for all the major characters. V is either dead or emotionally isolated, and in either case being "a legend" is not what it's cracked up to be. If she dies, everyone who calls is devastated, confused and distraught. Because of this, I don't think Misty is trying to lead the player there. That would be very spirituality unwise of her. When she says "take your time," it's not an instruction for an ending (most playthroughs won't even have it as an option), it's literally telling the player to think about what they've seen and try to make the right call. The importance of human connection, and especially the importance of accepting help from others, is a repeated theme in the game, especially in the friendship sidequests. V has to learn this lesson too. The spiritual answer the game is attempting to guide you towards is the Aldecaldo ending. Accepting the emotional burden of being part of a loving family is to be human, and spirituality is all about being human, riding the ups and downs of life in a wise way. To keep maturing, V has to accept that yes, she will be responsible for people she loves, she might fail them, they might die, etc. But they want to be there for V too, because they want her in the family. Keeping yourself emotionally isolated for the sake of protecting people you care about... it's one of the most common and biggest mistakes people make in the world today. It kills emotional intimacy and it cultivates an incomplete and false kind of spirituality. Sorry to ramble, I just adore the spirituality in this game lol
@@Wveth you're not incorrect in your assessment but they're both valid routes, it's very clear V is emotionally isolated in that ending but it's also not V. Is it fair for V to put human lives on the line so an AI copy of their Psyche can live on in their old body for 6 months perhaps a tad more? Even if they lived a full healthy life, it's not V in there. Panam would just be speaking to V GPT, they gave up 3 Aldecaldos veterans, several unnamed newbies, and risked the future of their family to have a glorified sentient chatbot modeled off their friend/family.
@@Wveth a slight counter to your point, every single other ending in the base game alludes to Don't Fear the Reaper in some way. 3 lines in particular stand out, Yorinobu in the devil ending waxing poetic about how "if bombs don't work, you BECOME the bomb" as V is regularly described as a ticking time bomb it also relates to them, in the Aldecaldos ending Panam said that Saul once told her that a person is only ever truly free once "when they have nothing to lose", to which the 2 Variations of the sun ending result in V proclaiming to Mr Blue Eyes that they no longer have anything to lose. Rogue has a comment when planning the raid that "walking through the front door just isn't an option", which is literally what the secret ending has you do. Johnny making the choice for V can canonically work but the devs likely want every side NPC to be alive especially someone as important to the lore as Rogue.
Just noticed they added a grave for the voice actor of Victor vector in the Columbarium in game. It's next to Bricks.. Milogost Reczek..the picture is a old school microphone..It says his voice will never fall silent..
In some playthroughs V is LOADED with money. Would have been nice to have a small quest in which you lave it all to your friends. One case would be in which you give Vik the money to secure his clinic as an established clinic, so Zetatec would not be able to buy him out. But Cyberpunk has a way of telling us that no matter how much you want to have an impact on the world, it never really goes the way you imagine.
She immediately accepts you and helps you even after what happens to Jacky. Worse people would blame his fate on you. But she only has sympathy and understanding while still in deep mourning. That alone is enough for me to see her as an amazing person. As a materialist, I dislike her esotericism. But hey, nobody's perfect.
Jackie always did things on his own terms, even before he met V. Neither she or Mama Welles had any illusions about where his life would lead with or without V.
Misty is one of those people too good for Night City, I liked the ending she gets in Phantom Liberty, through loss, tragedy, and suffering she didnt let it destroy who she was and became stronger for it
I loved V's conversations with Misty. She was always a light in the dark. Their conversations were short but personal and comforting. Moreso for me, since my first playthrough was the "a face in the crowd" ending. Thinking of her impact on my V and his story, and of her own story, I remember the lyrics from one of my favorite in-game songs. "Is this all that there is even after years of trial and error, Learning how to love, be loved and destroyed. Let's board up the bedroom windows, Fire off Roman candles. Watch all the ghosts in our clothes Disappear."
Depending on your choices, Panam and Judy leaves Night City, and both of them do not regret that decision. To them, it's one of the best decisions they've ever have. Misty is unique in that she actually got out of Night City once, but came back, and I kinda like that it wasn't because she wanted to help the people of Night City. She actually missed the noises, the neighbors arguing etc, she missed Night City itself. It's so interesting that someone who's almost in contrast to what Night City represents is able to stay in it and not lose their marbles. Her business might not be doing well, but it feels like she's actually thriving in Night City.
You know what I always wondered why Misty was such a pivotal character. She is the games true hero of Night City. Giving us all a reprieve from Night City when necessary. Focusing on what everyone doesn't want to. Oneself and how others interact with each other. She was the most human in the world of monster. V leaving her even after she was there for him (as a friend) in the phantom liberty hit her deeper than we realize. She sacrificed herself for those she loved and bonded with. A true saving grace of human in the techno dystopian future. We left her and the city closed in on her. She wanted to help V but essentially he left her in Night City for 2 years. And she still sent us off to basically say, "I may bot be playing the role of hero anymore. But this one last time. I will give you just enough to push through." I play this game over and over again to see who truly had a impact on me from it. She was and will always be one kf the top ones. Her, Vick, Jackie, Panam, Judy, Idris Elba, Keanu Reeves, Takemura, etc. all these characters have added to me in some way. Not all are hero's but Misty is one of the positive reasons I keep coming back.
They all did an amazing job and as much as love Keanu and I think this is his best role ever, I just love the character of V and what CDPR and Cherami Leigh made out of her, the female V is the best character in Cyberpunk, she is just the embodiment of everything that is good and just in this world.
I've always believed that Misty was secretly one of the most important characters in the game. The Pondsmith cyberpunk universe is built on the core value of "going out with a bang". Everything and everyone in Night City is built around the axiom of "Get rich and die trying", but out of everyone I've met in my 300 hours of playtime, Misty seems to be the only character who seems truly content and happy with the way she's living. Great video as always! I look forward to more videos in the future!
28:55 "Misty admits her peace of mind will be lost and regained again." It reminds me of a quote I read. "To love someone is to attend a thousand funerals of the people they used to be." It was just a post I read labeled as written by someone named Heidi Priebe, and it rings true. Especially so in the case of self love alongside love for family, friends, lovers and strangers. It's a constant cycle of beauty and change. For me, it more often feels mournful, but I can also understand that it may only be mournful for me and the way it processes for others may be more of acceptance, anger, denial or sadness. Another thread that ties in with the loss of innocence and the ever growing exposure to the complex workings of living in our societies. It's something I have been very self reflective of, of late.
It definitely seems like the trinity of humanity is based in the Watson district of Night City. Victor specializes in the human body while Misty specializes in the human soul, like you said, but then there's also Regina Jones, specializing in the human mind. She uses that specialization to see if she can try to figure out what makes people susceptible to cyberpsychosis.
The only two people in the whole game who will stay with V through everything is Misty and Vic. Judy is mostly attracted to V because V is “her type”. You’re just another Evelyn or Maiko. For River you’ll always be a true friend, but his family and community take 1st priority. Kerry is… well, Kerry. He’s a celebrity with dopamine receptors so fried he’ll probably never be capable of true love again. (But I love YOU Kerry 😘) And though Panam’s friendship and love is absolute and genuine, if V dies or disappears, Panam can’t cope with it. She’s risk anything to save or help you, even the Aldecaldos, but if she feels she CANT, well… she needs to flee. To avoid destroying herself as well. But misty and Vic will pick up the phone no matter what.
Misty reminds me of a friend I had in highschool, right down to the way she dresses. Every moment she was on screen felt like catching up with the old friend group
I am going to share some heavy topics, so if that's not your thing, I totally understand, so just read the part where I say I got your book and am loving it. Okay TW Death, Self Harm, medical issues. I wasn't born right, and have fought medical issues with my heart, and other organs, my entire life. And growing up it was almost laughed at when I said I had considered, and even attempted to induce a flatline on myself a few times. Nobody seemed to understand that staring death in the face so clearly, for so long, knowing I'm only ever just rescheduling the appointment with them. Hearing Misty offer those medications that speed up the process, I genuinely started crying, because somebody understood, that they probably have no idea how V feels about all this. Similarly depending on your choices with Song Bird, V says, "It's your choice, it's always been your choice." And that is what Misty says with words unspoken. She's upset, but she understands that she doesn't understand. She accepts it. This game, and the characters in it, are something so special to me. And clearly not only to me. Another fantastic video. Please keep up the good work, without overworking yourself.
Thank you for sharing that, seriously. Its enlightening to hear your unique perspective on Misty and her compassion. Can totally understand why this story is so special to you, it touches on so many subjects in such beautifully written ways, with a lot of respect to those in the real world that they affect. Thank you again.
My first play through was very quick and I didn’t really like Misty. But after multiple plays I came to love her. She is sweet, smart, quirky, unique, genuine, gentle. She is just a wonderful woman. She truly wants to just put good into the world. A world that’s filled with everything but goodness. The Phantom Liberty is my favorite with her. I cry every time. I KNOW she is going to be ok wherever she is. But at the same time I desperately want to find her so I can see that she really is ok. I would give anything for a “family” photo with V, Misty, Jackie, Victor, and Mamma Wells.
Even when I am role-playing as my veteran NCPD character in my sandbox save, Vic & Misty still serve as the "two angels in a world of demons". They are quite literally the only two people I trust in the city.
Another banger Lydi! I’m impressed you could pronounce Misty’s last name lolol. I think what makes Misty so magnetic is her lack of judgement. There are only two times in the whole story where she passes a moral judgement. First being if you choose the Saka ending. She basically says “why would you do this they killed Jackie!” And the other being condemning Vic for selling out to Zetatech. Otherwise she is a pool of compassion and opts to be the mirror for V to find her own truth. Can’t wait for the next one!
Ahhh thank you so much for watching! ahhhh i could never do the Arasaka ending just for that fact alone. I can't break Misty like that. Its like throwing the fight and Vik getting mad at you lol
@@lydiscott i honestly think it is the “best” ending in the game. Not happiest best but most well written and most in line with cyberpunk as a genre. V like everyone else loses and the march of the neo liberal capitalist libertarian hellstate marches forward trampling all in its path.
I think playing through the game with the vision that takemura will actually help you, and that hanako is truly powerful enough to help you is a whole experience. It's how I played my first playthrough way back when it first came out and noone was talking about the endings as good or bad in the first month or two after release and it was an extremely painful ending that hurt and made you feel like you were truly taken advantage of and it was very very worth experiencing
I truly adore your character deep dives. I’m patiently waiting for your coverage for Songbird. I didn’t realize how much depth her story has until my third run.
Ahhh thank you so much! I think she’s gonna be next, or at least one of the next cyberpunk ones. Her and Reed and Alex are gonna be a challenge lol AND MYERS!
@@lydiscott You’re welcome! Thank you for your amazing content! Yes, Myers, Reed, and Songbird made for such an amazing trifecta of nuanced characters. The Phantom Liberty DLC really went off with the political intrigue. Take your time on them when you get to them cause it’s a lot to unpack lol.
In Louisiana we call women like misty those who see twice more meaning they see more than us and should be heeded for her to such accurately predict these things shows she has clairvoyance or is touched by a higher power she should be listened to
as a preface, the end-scene line " Don't look for a happy ending ... this is not an American tale, this is an Irish one " is a perfect segue for all things Night City ... do not come here or return here and anticipate anything other than what Night City is well known for. The cut-scene with Misty's departure only underscores one of the most insidious aspects of NC ... her T-shirt had both the Magenta Moon and the mountain in the foreground ( which is a duplicate of the stone statue in the Glen apartment ) that lend themselves to control aspects of NightCorp ........... What an outstanding piece of work You have done in relation to a very under-appreciated character! Thank You
I cried when Jackie died it was like losing my best friend all over again our ambition our undoing once more I hit hard because I lost my best friend and all I could do was be powerless to stop it again. My best friend gone once more this time I saw the shot that took out my friend and again I wasn’t fast enough to stop it I carried his gun all the way to arasaka tower together we took a fat leak in the shoes of some powerful people and he was waiting at the end of my road a bottle of tequila in hand rest in peace choom if I could change anything it would be that we listened to Misty maybe then we could be at the coyote playing pool again.
Call me evil, but I was actually hoping Cyberpunk had a story outcome where Misty died. It would have been really interesting if Jacky Welles lived in, only to endure the major tragedy of loss.
That garage scene is so heartbreaking. When we find the mandala, i teared up. It shows how genuine jackie was and what we lost in the presuit of a shortcut to the major leagues.
Misty and Vic are probably my favourite characters in Cyberpunk. I can't exactly describe why that is, but her presence is always so soothing, so comforting and she's so, so sweet. I adore her relationship with V and I wish we've got more opportunities to express gratitude for her compassion and unconditional support, to offer support in return as well. I wish we've got more time with her in general, although to me, she left a tremendous impact as is. (As a side-addendum, Misty's voice actress also voices Spider Murphy in Johnny's flashbacks as well)
@@lydiscott Hell yeah, I love Spider as well! That's three characters voiced by Erica Lindbeck that are absolutely striking in their own ways, even though their roles are limited. She's very talented!
I was proud of Misty for making it out of Night City with mind and spirit in one piece. This video has definitely shined a brighter light on her character for me. I especially love the observation of her and Vic being a team that fix the body and spirit in a city designed to breakdown both. I had respect for her character. Now, I have much more respect. Awesome video.
I never underestimated Misty’s lore I knew she had something big planned for her my girlfriend told me to pay attention to the card and she herself pulled out out her own cards lol
I've recently started watching your essays and I'm blown away by the level of attention and time taken to provide quality content. Looking forward to more :)
Misty is one of those characters who is such an ostensibly good person that they feel unrealistic, perhaps even absurd, if you haven't been lucky enough to know someone like that in your own life. I'm glad she exists to show what a world like Cyberpunk, or our own, seems to try so very hard to take from us. I'm even more glad that the DLC gives us the closure of knowing that, while broken in many ways, she's still here and she hasn't given up, despite it all.
Misty was a voice outside of the wheel that grinds down the citizens. It is sad that even with her increased perception of the world around her, she is still powerless to make change in it. She sees the world as it is and is destined to watch it play out.
Out of all the female characters in Cyberpunk I always liked Misty more then then the others. She's just a sweetheart and a genuinely good person. It sucks that we don't have more side missions with her, I think she would've been perfect in the "Zen Master" side quest. Instead of it being a monk (that may or may not be real) it should have been Misty and it being a little side story with V and Misty just hanging out Btw just found you channel love the content. Keep it up 👍
Stopping this as you begin to talk about the Phantom Liberty ending. I hope I remember to come back and finish this once I've experienced it for myself. Lovely work so far. I've a lot of respect for what you do on this channel. 🖤
Amazing video!! This game truly nestled its way into my life. As your channel suggests, the cyberpunk stories have shaped me. Hearing this story about Misty was great. thank you!!
These CP2077 Videos have me REALLY wanting to go back. I beat it over a year ago so it can ALMOST feel like the first time again with these new POV's. 🙏🙏
THANK YOU so much for this!! Really well done. Misty is overlooked by so many. There's so much depth to her and she really is one of the only true friends to V from the start and all the way to the end. Misty always brings V back to reflect on what actually matters in this world moving way too fast. She's been my favorite character since my first playthrough and this video really nails every element of her. Thank you!
I'm glad this came to my recommended feed! I love Misty and her rebellion to be "organic" in such a tech heavy world, like the Monk you meet for the meditation sessions. There is rebellion to head back to nature, to base yourself in the earth rather than the grind always mindset. Thank you for such a great character breakdown. Looking forward to your Tarot video! As someone who plays with my own decks on occasion, I'm very fascinated to hear your interpretations.
Great coverage of misty's character. I didn't played the game but while watching the playthrough, i noticed her as a complex and hard to understand character.
I have been binging all your videos, they are so good dude. You tie together all the different themes these characters represent so neatly and its really enjoyable to listen to!
Misty is an amazing character and I do wish there was more interactions with her. Just stuff to do and check in with her especially after losing Jackie. As a character especially with multiple play throughs she is written much like the Shakespearean "fool" in each of his plays. Someone who at first glance seems like they are spouting mumbo jumbo, but at the end of it and if you really pay attention to their words they end up being the most clued in character in the story and in some cases to a prophetic degree. I also as a card reader appreciate that CDPR didn't just bullshit their way through the Tarot and clearly did some homework and pretty much nailed it.
Tbh, if i had the chance to get her out of my life I'd do it. But i guess most people liked her addition to the game. I skipped through every dialoge option with her. Johnnys is there to talk to me. Not misty.
After watching this I definitely like Misty more as a character and I also agree she is a under appreciated character. But I’m very glad that I stumbled on this video because I feel like with the Phantom Liberty’s ending I feel more of a sense of relief in a way. That Misty is going to be okay, and that with time she was able to have a great bond with Mama Wells. Amazing video by the way, I really enjoyed it! 👍🏾🔥
Really liked Misty, one of the truest non-judgemental characters in the game. Her beliefs seem to help her accept others choices more easily than most even if she doesn't like that choice. After all choices seem to be what she believes in and the repercussions of those choices to others and the person she is reading for are very important to her. The tarot is a good guide, but does not tell the future, totally agree she is a lovely character.
Actually, one thing I noticed that Misty... is actually fucking rich. In a dystopia like Night City where the average person gets their daily sustenance from a tube, Misty owning a shoplot, able to sustain a business with little to no customers, and able to afford a flight to someplace like Poland sounds quite privileged from the sound of it. Not that this diminishes her heart and kindness, but I do deem that Misty is able to give that sort of love and warmth is because she is in a very rare position to do so.
Honestly, cyberpunk 2077 hits hard for me. Last this time I was fighting for my life in a coma after a narly motorcycle accident, I appreciate Misty's attitude of it's ok to just let go if that's what you feel you should do. Part of me kinda wished that I didn't get top top tier Yale medical care, dying is easier.
I just love seeing deep Dives into In-Depth Characters with well written Stories especially those in Cyberpunk 2077 (My All time Favorite RPG with such a Preem Story & World Environment) If it wasn't for Judy Alvarez (My Personal Favorite Gaming NPC & Romance fr) Misty would have been my Favorite Character then Johnny. ~ Misty is just a person at first glance/playthrough you just can't fully understand her but as the more you play more playthroughs of Cyberpunk the more you start seeing her. You might have been the One Pizza Guy who got lost at first then becoming a regular. ~ Misty is one of those Characters that I just personally Love some of her Personality just Reminds me of my Best Friend (Same goes with Adding in Judy the both of their personalities are so similar to my best friend I jsut love it). Misty is a reason I am more into Tarot than I would have been otherwise.
I still think of Misty as a Shadowrun character in Cyberpunk's world... For the people who don't know: Shadowrun is, to put it simply, "Cyberpunk With Magick."
My OC in Edgerunners joined Maine's Gang the same time David did but my OC goes on a different path. He's close to David and they're like Brothers and Kiwi trains him in Netrunning and goes on gigs with her often. However, because my OC lost his Dad to Cyberpsychosis. My OC is scared of Cyberpsychosis and often refuses to chip up until David convinced him started as the Gigs were getting more dicey. In the end, my OC got maimed by Adam Smasher and David saved his life by engaging Adam Smasher while Trauma Team takes my OC to the Hospital. By the time my OC meets V and Jackie, he now has some cyberwear which is his cybernetic Right Arm, Kioshi Eyes and Thermo Skin. But it was Misty who will help him greatly since Vic was his Ripperdoc and he didn't feel confident with David's Ripperdoc.
Misty is so key in this game, I hope sees back in some capacity in the sequel, looking for the tarot cards it’s rare when I side quest just as important as the main. Her and V’s interactions to me Misty became this human embodiment of hope or just believing in good ppl.
Someone mentioned it in another video I saw how misty after one of the endings of phantom liberty she looks alot like mama wells, and I like to think the two of them grew very close in those two years
Imagine how much different everything would've been if Jackie never took the chip out of his head in that limo. He would've been the one with Johnny Silverhand in his head but the chip woildn't have been damaged by Dexter's bullet.
i love misty, shes awesome and my favorite character in cyberpunk. her spirituality and guidance is a great counterpart to viks medicine and science. i always stop by her shop when going to viks for implants
The exact reason i hated her so much. Misty can't accept her own reality and trys to find home in some psychological concepts. Tarot cards? Really? Why not make me mert Jesus and he washes off all my sins? Same lvl of bullshit for me. But that's actually my only complaint about the game.

if you dont see the parallels between Misty's reading and the stuff going on in the game, you just didn't want to listen. it doesn't take multiple playthroughs
AGREED. I’m sad there’s not a quest that even makes a point of checking on her after Jackie’s death.
Still i hope that we soon get the full mod tools and someone changes the lack of Misty stuff in the game and gives us exactly that, that we can interact with her more and help her, be a friend and go places.
Love this! :D
“Avoid bright reds” she warns jackie,
Dexter deshawn is a walking red flag,
Arasaka is drenched in red,
..i think he realised her warning was right, when he saw his own red blood during the end of the heist.
Poor Vics polish voice actor passed..they got permission from his family to synthesize his voice for phantom liberty.
Damn had no idea about that thanks for letting us know.
Just noticed they added a grave for the voice actor of Victor vector in the Columbarium in game. It's next to Bricks.. Milogost Reczek..the picture is a old school microphone..It says his voice will never fall silent..
@balenwolf3710 I just saw this in the columbarium the other day but didn't know the context. Thanks for sharing.
@@balenwolf3710 i have noticed that and i didnt know what that was... now i know

But in the text of the game she’s literally correct? I understand feeling that way irl but in this world she’s kinda actually tapped in
Jackie always did things on his own terms, even before he met V. Neither she or Mama Welles had any illusions about where his life would lead with or without V.
Misty is one of those people too good for Night City, I liked the ending she gets in Phantom Liberty, through loss, tragedy, and suffering she didnt let it destroy who she was and became stronger for it
Agreed! She's one of those few people who truly escaped Night City. Glad it was her, she deserved to get outta there.
That ending is so hard but the most hopeful for a continued, brighter future
I always wanted a more friendship relationship with Misty, you know more stuff to do with her as friends..
agreed! Would've been great to have even one other quest with her.
That can backfire; "Hey V, wanna go bowling?"
@@SarahAndreaRoycesChannel Uh oh... now I have to listen to the "let's go bowling" remix again.
Lets go bowling bowling bowling bowling bowling
I loved V's conversations with Misty. She was always a light in the dark. Their conversations were short but personal and comforting. Moreso for me, since my first playthrough was the "a face in the crowd" ending.
Thinking of her impact on my V and his story, and of her own story, I remember the lyrics from one of my favorite in-game songs.
"Is this all that there is even after
years of trial and error,
Learning how to love, be loved and destroyed.
Let's board up the bedroom windows,
Fire off Roman candles.
Watch all the ghosts in our clothes
Disappear."
I love Misty, she is a like a wiser little sister that respect herself enough to be able to respect others.
Love this. She's such a gem, she deserves a happy peaceful life!
They all did an amazing job and as much as love Keanu and I think this is his best role ever, I just love the character of V and what CDPR and Cherami Leigh made out of her, the female V is the best character in Cyberpunk, she is just the embodiment of everything that is good and just in this world.
Takemura with the Musashi quotes always gets me.
Misty is precious, she reminds me a lot of my best friend
You are so lucky! Having a real life Misty must be amazing
Trauma is watching your net runner get yeeted into your solo by Adam smasher and you realize no no you weren’t ready for this
The irony of Misty being dressed as Pris from Bladerunner, an unempathetc sociopathic android, was an interesting choice for the devs.
28:55 "Misty admits her peace of mind will be lost and regained again."
It reminds me of a quote I read.
Misty and Jackie's relationship is just so pure and romantic to me. It's really a start contrast with the general theme of the game
I like to think of Misty as that nurse from The Evil Within 2
Misty and Vic are the only ones who stick with you 2 years later. luv her
This reminds me of the last conversation i had with my uncle before he passed I 😢
I love "The Narrator," behind Misty's counter, and the title "A Hero in Punk's Clothing," chef's kiss!
Misty is easily overlooked but she really had a heart of gold. I wish her all the best.
I really wish there had been an option for V to leave with Misty. Leaving all of Night City behind and finding peace with a familar friend.
would've loved the working-in-an-ancient-polish-forest expansion lol
@@lydiscott Surprised there's still forests around knowing the cyberpunk genre
The only two people in the whole game who will stay with V through everything is Misty and Vic.
Judy is mostly attracted to V because V is “her type”. You’re just another Evelyn or Maiko.
For River you’ll always be a true friend, but his family and community take 1st priority.
Kerry is… well, Kerry. He’s a celebrity with dopamine receptors so fried he’ll probably never be capable of true love again. (But I love YOU Kerry 😘)
And though Panam’s friendship and love is absolute and genuine, if V dies or disappears, Panam can’t cope with it. She’s risk anything to save or help you, even the Aldecaldos, but if she feels she CANT, well… she needs to flee. To avoid destroying herself as well.
But misty and Vic will pick up the phone no matter what.
misty, our choom, one of the most down-to-earth characters in night city.
Remember when you first started this channel and been on and off watching but love that you make this content and how well you’ve been growing
@@TheMecoolerest001 ahhh i might have to force myself in that case. At least for a video! XD
@@lydiscott well if you feel like cheating (only minorly judging) I am sure you can watch a lets play.
I didn’t know how much I’d need to hear that last quote…thank you…
That garage scene is so heartbreaking. When we find the mandala, i teared up. It shows how genuine jackie was and what we lost in the presuit of a shortcut to the major leagues.
They really did such a good job making his loss sting throughout the game.
Honey wake up, Shaped by Stories new video just dropped
LOL
Misty and Vic are probably my favourite characters in Cyberpunk.
I can't exactly describe why that is, but her presence is always so soothing, so comforting and she's so, so sweet. I adore her relationship with V and I wish we've got more opportunities to express gratitude for her compassion and unconditional support, to offer support in return as well. I wish we've got more time with her in general, although to me, she left a tremendous impact as is.
(As a side-addendum, Misty's voice actress also voices Spider Murphy in Johnny's flashbacks as well)
Same here. Would’ve been so nice to learn more about her! 😄 AND OHHHHHH I LOVE SPIDER THATS AWESOME!!!!!
@@lydiscott Hell yeah, I love Spider as well!
That's three characters voiced by Erica Lindbeck that are absolutely striking in their own ways, even though their roles are limited. She's very talented!
"Avoid mean reds..." I never noticed that connection before. Absolute gut-punch.
Misty was straight-up one of my favorite side-characters in the whole story. She knew a thing or two about a thing or two, for real.
Lol, "This hallway of mean reds" My Cyberpunk story is now (at least partly) shaped by your deep dives. You are a wonderful wordsmith. 🤩
I never underestimated Misty’s lore I knew she had something big planned for her my girlfriend told me to pay attention to the card and she herself pulled out out her own cards lol
I've recently started watching your essays and I'm blown away by the level of attention and time taken to provide quality content. Looking forward to more :)
Awww thank you!!! Seriously! 😁
She tells everything you need to know at the beginning of you do a little leg work and then pay attention.
"When you hear of someone getting shot point blank in the head, you assume they are dead."
Me: My name is Courier 6.
Instead of it being a monk (that may or may not be real) it should have been Misty and it being a little side story with V and Misty just hanging out
Btw just found you channel love the content. Keep it up 👍
Stopping this as you begin to talk about the Phantom Liberty ending. I hope I remember to come back and finish this once I've experienced it for myself. Lovely work so far. I've a lot of respect for what you do on this channel. 🖤
The first time Misty meets V, she gives them a knowing look of sorrow.
Amazing video!! This game truly nestled its way into my life. As your channel suggests, the cyberpunk stories have shaped me. Hearing this story about Misty was great. thank you!!
Neat, been looking forward to a new video.
Aw thanks! :D
These CP2077 Videos have me REALLY wanting to go back. I beat it over a year ago so it can ALMOST feel like the first time again with these new POV's. 🙏🙏
Interesting how you walk through Misty's shop on your way to get your first cyberware from Vic.
This is my new favorite channel!
Thank you!
I would 100% mud-wrestle the Emperor himself to watch one of these about Takemura.
God this game was so good. Such well written characters, Misty being a favorite. Nicely done analysis, got me feeling all over again 😭
Using Mistys counter for the backdrop is a fun touch, love it.
Ahhh thanks! 🤣
The only one to stick by V no matter what. A true friend in Night City. That's so extremely rare
When she returned after V gets healed still wearing Jackie’s jacket I knew she was a top notch choom
I adore misty, barring the exquisite makeup and transition goal, she is honestly my favorite character in the entire game.
Great coverage of misty's character. I didn't played the game but while watching the playthrough, i noticed her as a complex and hard to understand character.
I prefer the secret ending feels like it ends better for everyone
I have been binging all your videos, they are so good dude. You tie together all the different themes these characters represent so neatly and its really enjoyable to listen to!
Thank you so much for your kind words!
ifound myself visiting Misty and doing the same tarot reading so often more so just so I could see Misty and get that breath of fresh air.
I think misty is the players emotional connection point. She truly brings you into the reality of the emotions caused by Night City.
Tbh, if i had the chance to get her out of my life I'd do it. But i guess most people liked her addition to the game. I skipped through every dialoge option with her. Johnnys is there to talk to me. Not misty.
My impression of Misty is, that she is a great psychologist in a setting where mental and spiritual health are ignored almost utterly.
Great, now I'm tearing up.
I really wish Misty had gotten her own line of sidequests.
Anyway, thanks for the great video.
That’s a REALLY good point!
There’s a definitive separation between technology and spirituality
When I saw Misty in the new ending from the DLC I was damn shocked to see her. i didnt even reconized her at first until V said her name.
What a beautiful tribute to Misty.. and Jackie.
One of my fav characters! Night City is calling for me to come home.
I’m happy I found your channel cause great storytelling
Thank you so much! 😊
I appreciate your videos..maybe I've not looked hard enough.but your one of the only people going indepth on the characters them selves..
Beautiful video. Well written and edited. Someone explain how you're only at 20.8k subs?
Please keep up the cyberpunk videos, they’re so good 😅😊
Aww thank you, im really glad you're enjoying them!
Misty is so key in this game, I hope sees back in some capacity in the sequel, looking for the tarot cards it’s rare when I side quest just as important as the main. Her and V’s interactions to me Misty became this human embodiment of hope or just believing in good ppl.
Great video! I just started playing this game again and all of a sudden I find your channel. Glad I did! Thank you.
Thank you so much! Hope you’re having a great playthrough!
Someone mentioned it in another video I saw how misty after one of the endings of phantom liberty she looks alot like mama wells, and I like to think the two of them grew very close in those two years
Beautifully presented, I really enjoyed this video. 😢😊
Cyberpunk 2077 story gets my mental state into sad mode
Imagine how much different everything would've been if Jackie never took the chip out of his head in that limo. He would've been the one with Johnny Silverhand in his head but the chip woildn't have been damaged by Dexter's bullet.
i love misty, shes awesome and my favorite character in cyberpunk. her spirituality and guidance is a great counterpart to viks medicine and science. i always stop by her shop when going to viks for implants
She's one of my favorite characters in the game. I love a lot of them as characters, but she stands out. A light in a sea of darkness.
The exact reason i hated her so much. Misty can't accept her own reality and trys to find home in some psychological concepts. Tarot cards? Really? Why not make me mert Jesus and he washes off all my sins? Same lvl of bullshit for me. But that's actually my only complaint about the game.
