- UPDATE: Tembi Locke's memoir, "From Scratch: A Memoir of Love, Sicily, and Finding Home", has been turned into a Netflix series. The 8-episode drama was created by Tembi and her sister, Attica Locke, and stars Zoe Saldaña along with Eugenio Mastrandrea.

Tembi Lockes depiction of Cancer and the struggles going between oncology and other departments was soooooo true, confusing and no one would tell you what's up kind of like they don't want to be responsible or accountable. So sad but so true....not till you are in palliative care doing yr best to make yr loved onecomfortable! Cried and was amazed to see my story is actually yrs too. Thank you x

What a remarkable story. Love the Sicilian and African American romance journey. I love how his family came to embrace her and pass down sacred traditional food recipes. They should make this a movie!

I related very much being from a Sicilian immigrant family. Being American and raised by a Sicilian mother and spending so much time in Sicily with my relatives, I can understand the clash of cultures but at the end it's love and family that triumphs.
I recently purchased the audible and started listening yesterday. I decided to Google her and came across this. I love the audible.

What a beautiful book; I just finished it and I loved it; what a wonderful love story and how sad her loss has been. I love the way she's so candid about her life and takes us along with all the changes and things she's been through.
