  • Everything you ever wanted to know about the 1988 Eagle Premier. The Eagle brand was only around for 10 years, and Premier was the sedan they chose to introduce that brand. It had some unique features for 1988, including a turn signal that beeped instead of making the familiar clicking noise.

Owned one in 1998! It was a 1988 Premier LX, one of the best cars I've ever had. Very comfortable and roomy, bulletproof V6 and an all around great cruiser. Not the great handler but get a Talon for that! Unfortunately the engine began to overheat on me and I junked it before repairs. Great memories

let me guess it was that stupid plastic pressure tank where you filled the water for the Radiator I held mine together with lots of JB-weld don't get me wrong I did love the car but it was a MUTT The transmission was from the ford tempo the motor from Chrysler Mini van the Sway bar and bushings from a 1970's Dodge truck the Alternator is from a 1980's Chevy Chevette
the Starter was from a large Ford 1970's-1980's I only know this from having so many cars and being able to buy the parts much cheaper verses buy the same part that said Eagle made in France yes it was assembled

This would've become a market leader in the late 80s if it had rear shoulder belts, a driver's airbag (both as standard) - and perhaps optional ABS with a 4-wheel disc option in premium models.

I had a Silver 1988 Eagle Premiere, great vehicle 😀😀😀 I did have to have the transmission replaced, it lost reverse, but luckily it was under warranty. No cost to me

I had a lot of problems with mine. But when it was running, it was fast and comfortable.

This video is great! Haha. I love the opening with the flying bird footage. We're working on a documentary about American Motors / Eagle. Would you be willing to let us use this footage? Do you still have the original file?

@@Gomindyourownloser that sounds like more of an AMC concord or ambassador or Eagle 4x4 Wagon, those American built AMC cars were basically a conglomeration of parts from the other American auto makers....these Premiers were Renaults built with Renault parts
