I got a handmade backpack all leather from San Marino. It’s so awesome. Still smells great after 2 years and me using it for school. The city is so nice and everyone is very friendly. (Coming from Texas)
Thanks to Venice not allowing cruise ship to use tenders to visit, our Sep. 2024 cruise is instead porting in Ravenna, Italy. So, NCL is now offering an excursion to San Marino. This will allow us to visit this microstate!
As you know, Honest Abe was made an honorary citizen of San Marino. He may have been, if not the only US President, one of the few US Presidents to hold citizenship in a foreign country.
This is such an informative and well-made video. I've just booked a trip there and it helps to learn something about the destination beforehand. This looks like a beautiful place, proud of it's history.
Beautiful !! Thanks for sharing a nice video. I visited there with my family almost 35 years ago when we lived in West Germany. This video reminds me of the days when my children played with little boys and girls of San Marino. Best regards from the Far East.
I keep watching all these videos on Italy. Italy is so beautiful! My mom's side is from Sicily and one day I'd like to at least visit Sicily but a dream would be spead weeks traveling, and eating, all over Italy.
We were just in San Marino last week. This video shows exactly how wonderful this place is. Thanks for uploading the video...It's much more fun to show my family a video rather than static photos. (Laugh) The passport lady is still there...she stamped MY passport too. (I would have never thought to have it stamped....Thanks RS!!!)
I passed through here during a tour of Italy I took in 2000. The only way I knew that I was no longer in Italy was the presence of the Sammerinese flag over government buildings. Other than that, you cannot tell when you leave Italy and enter San Marino.
It seems odd to pay for a passport stamp. I don't want any stamps at all because when your passport is full you need to pay a lot of money and wait for another passport. I have never kept using a full passport but I have heard stories that customs gets fairly upset when they NEED their stamp in your passport and there is no space. Wouldn't you want to keep your passport longer and avoid paying for another one? (But I suppose if one doesn't travel often, their passport may expire beforehand.)
Memories are more important than passport's price. Passport prices being something like 100€/£/$ is not that expensive if you compare to total expenses of travelling. Business travellers of course are different group and they don't usually have any extra time or money to wander in tourist spots.
Sorry for the late reply, You do make a good point. But in Canada it costs around C$270 to get a new passport. My last one costed more because I got it from the embassy in Tokyo. When your passport is full, it still makes good ID, but thats about it because you cannot get another visa or stamp; This restricts travel. Waiting for a new passport overseas can be expensive, especially if you have to wait 3 weeks in a hotel. It also requires passport photos, which aren't too expensive but it takes time again. If you don't have your birth certificate handy, you will need to apply for another one, which takes more time and money. Also getting a reference from a guarantor takes time and money, and more time coordinating with a friend to get a personal reference. The new Canadian passports are even more expensive and have fewer pages. (Basically the Canadian government is saying "Don't travel") I believe they have 24 pages. 24 isn't large if countries want a whole page for a visa and then a stamp on another page for entry and exit. There isn't an option for a larger business passport anymore. If I really wanted to, I could go though a passport in just months and then try and get another overseas. But no thank you. I suppose the problem might be I am a little bitter at these Canadian passports.
🎉🎉🎉 wow that's awesome l really love this country honestly speaking l which Nigeria government can give freedom to Biafra just like this. and l need to ask questions do san Marino give documents to someone from Italy.
Without the tourism many places in Italy would not live. Look at Margate here in England. It used to be one of the favourite tourist destinations for Londoners but ever since commercial air travel got cheaper less and less people visited it. It's half-derelict now and is now experiencing crime growth. Really, it's a dump, because people are losing jobs thanks to the fall in tourism industry.
This is my city, where i live, i'm so happy for you here!!!!!!!!
Rebo can u live in italy as well? or u need a vissa?
I love this country🙂
What a beautiful city. You are truly blessed to make your life there.

Canadians still need a "guarantor" to get a passport? What a silly rule.

Do you have nice bars or clubs in San Marino or do you have to go to Italy to have fun? ;D
1631 until present, San Marino still exists.
