Maybe you have done this, but going down to less % of glycol should help temps. Also turn the HVAC heat all the way up and crack a window. 😅 For interest: I used to test water pumps and a dealer supplied part was always better than a aftermarket. I don’t whether it is bypass which does it, or impeller design 🤷🏻♂️ I also designed radiators at one point and the same rule applies, even motorsport rads had to be much bigger to compete with a genuine part. The fin and tubes are very finely manufactured and a layman would never know. Cheers, thanks for the great content.
You are might want check the duct work to the radiator and you may need to open up the bumper up to allow more air into that area. Seems a little tight. Plus go with an all aluminum radiator from CSF. Great and inexpensive. Hope that helps! Cheers
Looks the goods mate, well done! I run Winmax 6.5 pads with the RX7 calipers up front with a working range of 50 to 800 degrees and they’re great. Work just as well on the road as they do the track. I just need some more aggressive rear pads or a brake bias valve as I can lock the fronts up on track without the rears feeling like they’re doing too much work (OE rear calipers).
Awesome Jay! Love my s52 e30 too man, such a fun driver. Actually I just ordered a cheap set of wheels from you guys and probably wouldn't have if it wasn't for your interest in the e30... I ended up at the DW site.
Good to see a vid from DW at last... you guys have been very quiet of late! Nice one Jay, the E30's looking sweet for something you felt was basically scrap at the start of the build - any progress on The 'Stang btw? Look forward to seeing some more on Phil's cars, although I appreciate he's busy being a Dad so I understand a change in life's priorities right now.
Hi jay, we’ve race an e30 for 5 years now, try minted 1155 front and minted 1144 on the rear. Not cheap, but better than any CL or Ferrodo we tried. Car looks epic. Enjoy.
Great to see you had a trouble free day Jay ! Needs some doorcards though, really lets the interior down ! I had some trimmed pads that were binding when warm, they just needed a small tweak with a file as I hadn't allowed enough for how much they expand when hot. After that they were perfect. I suspect you already know this anyway, but leave it in gear, don't put the handbrake on if the pads are hot.
If you hadn't sorted the cooling yet, try putting the mechanical fan and shroud back in and use the electric as an auxiliary when it gets really hot. Honestly, that mechanical is pretty baller in how good a job it does.
Looks great, Jay! Better than any Clio! I switched to a full width M3 radiator with the separate expansion tank on my M50 E30, never had a cooling problem on track since. Those radiators with the tank integrated are rubbish. Short gearing too!
get a radiator which is soldered, nissens for example. You should have no problem at all. My setup is similiar (e30 + m52b28) and I can beat on the car forever without overheating, even in the summer.
Hello Jay! Great content!! What happens to those plastic water pumps when the motor warms up the impeller starts to spin on the shift. And basically stops moving the water flow. Hold the impeller and the other end and see if it spins. If it does that's definitely your over heating problem. Cheers!
My E30 m52 track car always used to get a bit hot too. Had the better water pump and e36 m3 radiator and it still didn't seem to sort it. Really odd. Now got an e36 328i (same engine) and it's fine.........for now. Just got other daft problems.
V8 swapped mine and the handling isn't the same. That looks really well balanced. Never got mine quite right....and I've thrown a lot of time and money getting the geometry spot on
@@JacobsLuuk Oh ok, thanks for the info! Thought it was something different because on the video it sounded like it was just coming from one cylinder. Then again, videos often don't really capture this kind of sounds very well :)
"I can't see sighting laps going out in this" I don't think it would be appropriate to even call them "sighting laps" when you can barely see 100 yards infront of you
Like the D&B drop… “long dark tunnel” awesome tune. Wish the drop was more than a few notes though ☠️
Valley of the shadows 😎😎
You can blame the Google copy write monster for that I’d have smashed the whole tune in if it was up to me.
Quality tune, made me go and dig it out of my collection 😃

Baaaad trak!!!!!!?
Between your building ability and your driving ability you've built yourself a proper little track weapon, well done Jay I doth my cap sir
At first I was like "what the fuck is going on with that top mounted radiator?!??!?!" hahaha
Just wanted to say I love these videos so much and cheers for taking the time to make them.
Cracking video Jay. You can see the car just lapping round smoothly 👌, you've cracked it.
Maybe some ducting for the radiator may help?

Great video, good to see it running well, the DB5 looked amazing!
Such a fantastic car, the smile said it all! It would look super cool lapping the ring…
Nicely done Jay, perfect E30 track car - looks sharp!
Stack gauges are so sick. Just gives me vintage motorsport vibes immediately.
Happy for you, Jay. Cool car, well driven.
Congrats Jay, looks great fun
Excellent Jay!!! Very happy for you and well done.

Sweet.
Love this simple build. Glad it payed off !
Bloody delighted for you Jay!
Your big grin says it all.
Jay & Nate. The best duo on UA-cam.
Glad your having fun jay, makes the hard work worth it 👌🏻

You boat race said it all fella well done I love them E30s best BMW to date 👌👌👌💎
Nice classy track toy you've got yourself there Jay
Was half expecting Phil to blast past sideways in a cloud of tyre smoke, glad your liking the Beemer 👍🏻👍🏻
Good to see the work paying off mate!
donny in the fog, nah yr'alright.
2nd visit just poetry. Nice Jay
Love the Stack gauges

Proper love this build. Glad it's bringing you plenty of enjoyment.
What is the brake setup discs and calipers?
That DB5/6(?) has got some serious legs, is it a recreation?
It was quick on the straights!
Looks great, Jay! Better than any Clio! I switched to a full width M3 radiator with the separate expansion tank on my M50 E30, never had a cooling problem on track since. Those radiators with the tank integrated are rubbish. Short gearing too!
The full size radiator is the plan, just need to find enough time and money to complete it.
Looking and sounding good👍
Can’t beat the sound of a bmw straight six!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wow Jay, our cars are nearly identical!

Great to see, got yourself a "proper" track car now Jay!
Starting to get a little carried away,
Not Phil carried away but enough to annoy the wife carried away,,,,,
One of us one of us
Nice one car looks like it goes really well, listening to that m52 is still making me regret turboing mine. Will miss the NA noise.
Been hyped for this one !
F the algorithm though because I got the notification 22hrs later
Wow Donno looks resplendent 🤩🔥😁👍
Delivery man getting some practice in 😂
If I ever have a multi million pound Aston Martin I’m gonna stick a novice sticker on the back too! Good idea that 😂
Top vids boys keep them coming!
great footage, sick car
Congratulations very nice.
how are your rev matching on downshifts? I don't see your right knee move, so suspect it's not heal/toe?
Side of the foot.
Sounds well 👍🏻
Keep them coming!!!
Sounds great! 😍🔥
Love it Jay. 205 or 195 tyres & what flavour?
195’s at the moment because that’s what I had from my Clio. Once they are done it’ll be on 205’s though.
For the ravers 🥳
Nice driving, good to see you finally get out in a proper car 😂👌
Anglesey May 9th with Track Obsession, get on it.
May I point you towards RHDengineering for a set of throttles. I got some for my ls1 and I’m pleased with them.

A good oil cooler will sort it.
Use PBS pads. Highly recommend.
I would if they did them for these callipers
Great videos. Are you running ABS?
Na it’s a 316 from 1988 it was never fitted.
So what is up with Phil's E30 M3 track car ? I hope it gets fixed and sorted out. E30s are just such wonderful cars to drive.
It’s very nearly ready hopefully it’ll be out at Oulton Park next week.
Does it have a close ratio gearbox or standard as the gearing seems short? Engine sounds super sweet though.
It’s a really short diff 3.73
It looks great man!
Can you tell me the diff ratio?
3.73
@@JayDontGotThis Thanks man!
It's ideal for the track, well done. I have 3.45 and ZF gearbox.
Will you be ducting the radiator, venting the bonnet and fitting an undertray before the next track day now?
Not for the next one I don’t have time but I will duct it to the front grille when I get a chance.
At last a video!!!
I can see an engine swap happening! More power!
I can’t unless it blows up
V8 swapped mine and the handling isn't the same. That looks really well balanced. Never got mine quite right....and I've thrown a lot of time and money getting the geometry spot on
Epic man
That car's turning out to be a good one, about time you had some luck with the track tools Jay.
Cool video 👍🏻
Awesome!!👍
EBC Blue stuff pads, or Yellow. Blue will be better for track use. They even do full race pads if you want. 👍

That's how M20s sound. Tired of people asking this question over and over again. Do some reading.

It’s a 3.73 on a 4 plate converted factory lsd.

Need update on mustang
It’s coming slowly
Not much from DW lately??
S54 next… or next door for a LT4 😇
