They're not real journalists (some are, not all), many of them are nothing more than political advocates pretending to be journalists.
I pick them up at flea markets and similar places for 50¢ - $1.50. They're in very good shape, I assume most folks only view them once or twice then get rid of them. Great deal for the price and its good for a bad weather day when you're stuck at home.

In my opinion the so-called news channels have lost sight of the difference between reporting facts and editorializing. The fact that you can tell what a newscaster thinks about an election night result is evidenced by the glee or gloom on their faces. I say goodbye and good riddance.

Physical media yesterday, physical media today and physical media tomorrow! What I have in my collection, I'm inclined to make backups of it all, especially my VHS collection!
And I get plenty of it from local news. They report what's going on in the world. And unless it affects my little personal bubble, I'm not going to let it affect me
I had HBO Max and Hulu all no ads was paying 30/MO separately, so a few months back i found that i could also get Disney+ (no ads), HBO Max (no ads) and Hulu (no ads) all for $30 month I'm like SIGN ME THE F UP RIGHT NOW! LOL
I prefer physical media because i own, i can watch it a much as i want to, and it can't be taken away by the studios. One other thing, i don't need the internet to watch it and won't be tracked when i do. When physical media disappears, then big brother has you by the throat, so to speak ,and we all know how much we're tracked on the internet today. It's just one more element of privacy and freedom we give up to corporations.
So true! I have had media disappear and they look on it like a loan to you at best. Besides there are many, many classic films that I want in my collection that I watch over and over again. Much of today's movies are junk.
Well Cnn is trying again to get back into the subscription game only letting one view a limited number of articles each day before it starts requiring you to subscribe to view more. I refuse to add another subscription just for news.
Getting rid of cable at this point is not really an option -large areas of the country still don’t have decent enough Internet access to stream video. Not to mention that 90% of the content aired on cable ‘news’ channels is commentary and opinion that is being passed off as facts.

Most people don't live in New York city.I live 35 miles from city,only 40 thousand people,lucky to get 35 to 50 channels using channel master antenna on 65 foot tower.

I think if Max merges with another streamer it's likely Peacock. Universal and WB formed Studio Distribution Services (or SDS) for their physical media. If their physical stuff is under one roof, might as well do the same with digital

News networks today focus more on ratings than informative, fact-based news. This has led to the demise of common sense in America. Before cable news, we had intelligent, factual news without all the clown shows in the political arena.
Fox, NBC and ABC were initially when Hulu first started. It was literally the place where you could watch their primetime lineups online ad-free by the next day.
I prefer physical media over streaming. Im still waiting to watch the Willow tv series but Disney pulled it and you can't find it anywhere. If you buy it on physical media, you have access to it until you don't own it anymore.

Content available and cost are factors, but people that rent or move often, physical media looks like a nightmare. Physical media is ultimately better quality, and over all more consumer friendly. The own nothing, be happy, meme rings very true. I plan to live in the same location for at least ten more years, or longer. I do have walls and totes of physical media. The current economy makes it hard for people to go that route.
There are certain physical movies that I've bought or will buy because of their timeless quality to me. Plus I can watch them whenever I like. Streaming is good for convenience sake, sometimes--but it does not always offer the selection I'm looking for. So for me it's slightly more cost effective to opt for the physical alternative.
As huge Star Trek fans, we’ve been acquiring the various series and films on DVD or BR in case Paramount eventually farms out that content to several streamers. We’ve seen the first 10 Trek films come and go from Paramount+ and back again so who knows?
As far as being "news" networks, they all ended a long time long. As channels, I suspect CNN may fall first. There seems to be plenty of money keeping Fox News and MSNBC propped up.
I been a cord cutter for many years now I dropped Direct & dish bought I professionally installed OTA roof mount $110 I pay $60 per month to Xfinity for internet service emails, I have my Roku players & pick & choose my channels I want to watch I do subscribe to Newsmax for $4.99 per month & sure beats what it costs me to have FoxNews when I was told it cost me some $30.00 more at that time hum no thanks Plus I remember 2020 elections :( With the exception of a few at Fox it really not worth the money.

my computer power supply went bad. would boot sometimes but freeze randomly, freeze during boot other times. by the time I figured it out and replaced it my tube account on firefox was locked (only on the computer, not phone) and I can no longer log into it. I cleared the cache and cookies on firefox and even reinstalled firefox but cannot log in. it goes right to a help page when I try. disabled all addons / extensions I can watch it without logging in but cannot comment. any ideas?

Outside of the always controversial ATSC-3, do you see it surviving the switch to internet streaming? There has to be some value in all that investment in equipment/facilities/personnel and exclusive FCC bandwidth licensing.
Since cable itself is in trouble, it would only follow that cable news would also be in trouble. I agree with most of the commenters that CNN seems to be the one in the most trouble right now. What ends up happening with the others only time will tell. One thing I know for sure - some channels that require cable or a streaming service like YTTV have to come up with another way of getting their content out. I'm talking to you, TCM.

Because they have to honor their cable/satellite distribution contracts. My local CBS station streams their local news on their website, time delayed by 2 hours, because they said they have an obligation to their cable and satellite distribution contracts.

I am looking for a list of steps needed with the basic term described in terms that are clear and assume no basic knowledge. It is more and more clear you aren't going to be the source I am looking to find. This is why we older ones are left behind,. I was 40 when computers became popular. I watch One American News in the morning before work and Newsmax in the evening after work. I don't watch any news over the weekend.
