@@aguywhohikes1271 Ha! It's okay, us Canadians live in igloos and have polar bears as pets. We don't expect you Yanks to know where we live. 😂🥶
      Joking of course.

I keep reminding myself of that it isnt real and its all a delusion plus trying to have unconditional acceptance. but i still feel pretty terrible most of the time.

Hey Alex - so unfortunately that won't work. I would watch our other videos on acceptance where we talk about that. We won't be able to convince ourselves it's not real

How common is it to test yourself to see if you like the thought/idea/image and you feel like you like it? There have been times when I checked for attraction and arousal to certain things and I actually felt like I got aroused and liked it. This convinces me that I don't have OCD anymore. 😢 Can it still be OCD?

Hey Deadbeatjack - Until we make more peace with worst-case scenarios that automatic checking will usually continue in the background. Most of that checking is quite automatic. Trying to get certainty on whether something is real or not tends to be our biggest compulsion.

@@aguywhohikes1271 this is so hard. I feel like I can never get rid of checking compulsions completely, they're so pervasive and automatic.
It doesn't matter how much I educate myself about OCD and its tricks, when I get triggered, it never feels like OCD. I may have the intellectual understanding, but I can't step back and say "meh, this is just OCD". It feels like a big risk to label it as OCD.
