      If they not working, if they eat the palm oil with no balance of vegetables, and don't compare with other oil. Because soy beans have other toxic that can kill human too.
      Cholesterol will kill you in age 70-80 so if you want life more than 200 year don't use palm oil.

The west hate palm oil only became it digs into their pockets and is produced mainly by Indonesia and Malaysia. And it is much cheaper than the corn oil and rape seed oils that the west produces. Actually genetics and climate plays a major role in these sorts.
      Indians were never meant to have palm oil. Our body is simply not built for it. For generations my family used groundnut oil. But whenever I go outside to restaurants or street food and eat large amounts of it (because of greed) my stomach just can't handle it and I throw up right after few hours of consumption and it's a different sort of hell that I would never want to experience again
      So I stopped eating from outside altogether except for food that don't require huge amounts of oil like steamed momos or idilis.
      And for different people different side effects like such as cancer or heart diseases like Palki mentioned. Only that mine can actually be seen instantly after consumption.

      Hardly any research, she was just parroting some half baked articles written by sponsored researchers. And she never talked at all about the trans fat content in almost all other oils. Trans fat had been banned in many western countries for commercial food. Trans fat is a by product of hydrogenation process. Stable oils like lard, coconut oil and palm oil by nature do not need to be hydrogenated like other unstable oils such as soy, corn, canola, etc. Her suggestion to replace palm oil with soy oil is crazy.

    Refinement suggests an increase in bad fats.
    I make my own palm oil at home. It is unrefined. It works way better for me. I wish she would go into detail.

      Red palm oil is expensive actually as it retains much of non fat nutrient. The yellow palm oil is extracted from kernel (shell). It is parts where oil as it is can be used.
      Many fatty acid and glycerol product is in yellow colour. Refer the colour of other vegetable oils. In turn, red palm oil has nasty smell, that needs much more refinement to eliminate that odour while retaining the nutrient.
      Which is best? Depends on your consumption. red palm oil is suitable for non frying. Yellow (the general) is suitable for frying and bakery.
      I dont know which oil is used for making consumer product though

    Indonesia is one of the first use of palm oil. The largest producer of the world.
    When I was young, at 1970, Indonesia already have palm oil and use it. At that time, the life expectancy is 55-60.
    Now in 2020, Indonesia use almost all palm oil as cooking oil, life expectancy is 70+.
    Of course, Oil if too much is not good. Make you fat and high cholesterol.. Oil is fat.
    But its good as a staple food for middle/low class people that need "fat" as a food supplement.
    And if you boil any oil too hot until smoke(over boiling point), it's dangerous ... Any oil over boiling point is no good.
    So... Palm oil is good or not?

      Life expectancy is average of death age of all people in the country over a constant period . In the earlier years the infant mortality rate and maternal mortality rate was very high so many children used to die before turning adults and many people died in epidemics as there was no good healthcare and this impacted the average age of death (for eg. If 100 children are born and 10 die right after birth and another 10 die around 30 and remaing 80 live til 70 years the life expectancy will be 59 years not 70 years ) i.e life expectancy . But now the life expectancy has increased worldwide due to advancements in healthcare .

    I passed on this video to an experienced chemical engineer. His reply:
    My Points below:-
    1. Potential palmitic acid benefits include supporting skin health, having anti-inflammatory effects and potentially supporting metabolic health, antioxidative value
    2. Fatty acids with higher levels of unsaturation are oxidized more rapidly during heating in air. For example, linoleic acid containing two double bonds is oxidized about 12 times faster than monounsaturated oleic acid, while linolenic acid, containing three double bonds, is oxidized about 25 times faster (Belitz et al. 2009).
    3. Higher levels of unsaturation mean more oxidation during frying, so canola and soybean oils produce significantly more 2,4-decadienal (aldehyde) than olive and palm oils.
    4. Higher unsaturation in soy bean oil, canola oil results in higher trans fatty acid
    5. When other vegetable oils eg olive oil is heated for repeated frying cycles, it's antioxidant levels are significantly reduced. The oil then deteriorates over time, and may cause trans fatty acid, 3-MCPDE and GE formation

    Palm oil is a popular ingredient in many consumer goods because it is relatively inexpensive and has a long shelf life. It is also used as a cooking oil and in the production of biofuels. Additionally, the oil palm tree, which produces palm oil, is highly efficient at converting sunlight into oil, making it a more sustainable crop than some other oil-producing crops.
    Oil palm is relatively easy to grow and harvest, making it a cost-effective ingredient. Additionally, palm oil is rich in nutrients such as carotenoids, tocotrienols, and monounsaturated fatty acids, which have been scientifically shown to have health benefits.
    Planting oil palm benefit many poor rural small holders in several ways. It is a high-yielding crop that can provide a steady source of income for farmers. Additionally, oil palm can be grown on marginal lands that may not be suitable for other crops, providing farmers with an opportunity to expand their agricultural land. Furthermore, oil palm has a relatively short maturity period compared to other crops, which means farmers can expect to see a return on their investment relatively quickly.

    Palm oil is one of the best oils one can consume. It has some natural Vitamin E (tocotrienol ) . Just because it cannot be produced in western countries they decided to go against it. It is no more unsafe than say - olive oil. But westerners promote olive oil and not palm. Palm oil is stable to heat, olive is not stable , making it more suitable for asian cooking. It has been established irrevocably that chlorestrol has NOTHING to do with heart disease. I am surprised that you have not consulted proper experts. Any seed oil when heated will release Cancer causing esters. In fact olive oil is less stable as compared to palm.

Sure, its bad if you consume too much oil, just like other oils Heck, palm oils are supposed to be for cooking, not as salad dressing, so they're not for direct consumption. The Western hegemony tried to get as many bad reasons as they could to ban palm oil so they could market their olive oils to broader areas. If they don't want it, then don't complain about it; Indonesian people will use it better than those in the west.

    A couple of decades ago, I had problems with an irregular heart beat. We eventually realised this was caused by foods containing Hydrogenated Fats and Trans Fats. So we avoided all foods containing such bad fats, and the problem went away. However, the same issue started to come back a few years ago, and it did not take long to realise this was being caused by any food that contained Palm Oil. So, we then also avoided such foods as well, and the problem went away again. But now it is a constant battle to avoid Palm Oil, because they are putting it into so many more foods that never used to use it. Check packets, and also re-check upon delivery. Also, be aware they are also now putting it into things like butter. Palm Oil affects my heart in the exact same way as the now banned bad fats of old. The industry loves it, because it is so cheap, tasteless and inert, and behaves in the exact same way as the bad fats they can no longer use. I think in time, this fat will also be banned, but not before its harmful digestive effects will have caused serious devastation around the world.

That is affecting the milk, which in turn is affecting all things derived from that milk, such as butter. In Canada, people started to notice that their butter was not going soft at room temperature, as it would normally do. Look up Buttergate in Canada. This was traced to the changes brought via cattle feed used to feed dairy cows. That is very disturbing, because it now means that even products supposedly free of Palm Oil, are effectively being made with it.

    Palki you're a good story teller but as it relates to palm oil, I'll tell you that where I come from in Africa, palm oil is present in every food we eat; our land is fertile for palm plantations.
    Beef and other kinds of meat have also been staple foods as Rice and other things have been. Our fathers and mothers lived to old age with a significant number exceeding 100 years before passing.
    Today, this global people that want to control everything are sending their so-called "experts" to tell the world we have been living dangerously with everything. They start with introducing caveats to everything and then control.
    The experts now say rearing cow/buffaloes and eating beef is dangerous to the atmosphere and our health. They have also said same thing about rice as well as many other staple foods too; and now they are adding palm oil to the list.
    Here's what we all know, there's no food that's completely beneficial without elements of risk with use, quantity used, or frequency of use.
    But if these people really care altruistically for the people, why not spend their energies in developing antidotes to the side effects of these cheap staple foods that have sustained our lives over hundreds and thousands of years? Why is their move always towards taking them away or making them more expensive?
    Instead of these natural foods, they are instead recommending foods/meat created in the lab or genetically modified ones. They only want to;
    1. create and extend dependencies of developing countries on their lab/tech economies for food.
    2. use that to determine who lives and who dies, control populations across the world y injecting fertility and infertility stuff for various groups of people, etc

    • @YinYanUzumaki
      @YinYanUzumaki Рік тому

      Meat consumption is in fact linked directly to global warming . And saying that your forefather lived upto hundred is not necessarily a parameter but instead how disease free they lived . For example here in India it used to be shocking if someone died before 100 ( of natural cause of course) but Indians were primarily vegetarian and consumed zero palm oil in the past . India based on regions consumed either one or a mix of mustard ,coconut ,sesame and peanut oil along with butter and ghee and these people didnt even need a doctor visit up until their last few days .These day India heavily consumes palm oil ( along wit increased intake of meat in contrast to before )and health quotient and life span has both come down for Indians .. So palm oil and meat combination was certainly not the factor for long lives of Africans that you describe as same was seen in India too .. There is gotta be more objective way of looking at things to determine whether or not palm oil raises a siginifact risk factor .

    02:29 Should also tell the world, the other side of the story:
    The Soybean productivity ranges from 1.6 to 1.9 t/ha; while Palm oil productivity ranges from 4-5 MT of palm oil and 0.4-0.5 MT palm kernel oil (PKO) per Ha;
    That means if you wanna satisfy the world's need for edible oil with something other than Palm oil, and for eg. you replace it with soybean oil, then you'll need 3 to 4 times of the land to produce that much Soybean oil; which means more deforestation and literally killing our entire biodiversity or the Amazon Forests. Would 15% decrease in cholesterol levels by destroying 2x forest reserves of a country seem justified?
    Palm oil is the answer because it is high on Yield, and because it is the best possible alternate available to the world that saves our biodiversity. If we all believe you then, Govt must be so foolish to let Rs. 80,000Cr. worth palm oil be imported every year that kills its citizen or give cancer?
    The Best people can do is to ensure that they use Palm oil that is produced sustainably or has the Certified Palm Oil (RSPO) mark.
    06:10 only real truth really said in the whole video.

    I for one am thrilled that chocolate and candy manufacturers have switched from the absolutely deadly partially hydrogenated soybean oils (trans fats) back to palm oil. It has a high smoke temperature and if any deep frying is to be done at all, palm is best. It is also shelf stable and not nearly as prone to oxidation as vegetable oils. It also contains high levels of vitamin E - a powerful antioxidant. It also melts at 95 degrees F, and while that's higher than coconut oil's melting point, it's liquid at core body temperature unlike Crisco which melts at 117 degrees F. More research is needed and the money needs to come from non-vested interests.
