Sell it while you still can lol. New 3ds xl is the best model. Multigba s is a android emulator I use for Gameboy games it supports online lobbies with live voice and text chat. They even have one for the nes and SNES I recommend checking those emulators out nice to have in case they ever get discontinued also you don't have to have the same ROM so you can play just like ds download play. Almost like cloud gaming testing before getting it I mean if someone is hosting the game for you to join no password that is.
I have a solution for you to get it. (No selling.) Just save up for a new 3ds xl. I know, saving up can take really long, but thats the only solution i have.

I'm using original DS hardware and game cartridge, and phone wifi hotspot with no security, and I am also getting error 52100. Testing the connection in wifi settings or trying to go online in game displays green signal strength bars while the connection test hangs for about 10 seconds, before the bars turn red and display that the server can't be reached despite being connected to the wifi hotspot. Ye it’s bc DS only supports the WEP Wi-Fi security or no password and if you’re erroring out it’s probably bc the Wi-Fi connection ur using isn’t WEP or passwordless.

If it doesn't work with a Ds GAME... you have to back out or reset the console after you establish the network connection. Everytime you get an error you need to reset and it should work when you come back in

Wep is a fairly old kind of router "security", it was pretty bad even around the time the ds was introduced and was in the process of being completely replaced by WPA, which is what everything uses now. Unfortunately, that means you either need to host a WEP connection off an old router or use a connection with no security (IE: an android hotspot with no password) for regular ds games, with very, very few exceptions.
The "WEP key" is the password. You need to have a connection old enough to only use WEP as protection, or have no protection at all. For example, try using a hotspot without a password

Hey, I've been trying this for a couple weeks now on my DSI with multiple DNS codes yet none of them work (Error code: 20110 every time). I'm using a Samsung S21's hotspot with it's password removed, do you think it's just too new of a phone for the DS to accept or are all the DNS codes just outdated or something?

I'm getting an error that says unable to connect to nintendo Wi-Fi connection because the Wi-Fi ID on the DS and game do not match. And when I go to update it, it says the nintendo WFC has ben haulted.
I get error code 52100 on my 3ds when atempting to connect to an open hotspot on my phone in ds mode. I have checked that the dns is set correctly and I tried manual ip address assignment and that didn't fix it. The 3ds shows 3 bars for a while, before dropping to 0 and displaying the error. In manual ip assignment mode, my phone doesn't even show the 3ds as connected. (In auto ip mode the 3ds connects for a moment but then fails.) I have watched multiple tutorials and tried multiple dns settings, none of them work.
I’m having the same problem, apparently you can’t use a hotspot password free on an iPhone. I’m trying to connect pokemon platinum. I’m gonna try on a cousins hotspot on a Samsung. If it works I’ll let you know.

My router says it does both bands but will never connect to 2.4 unless it's my Xbox series s because yeah that's what I need for the new game systems the slowest connection outta the two. Do not buy Xtreme internet they only have one Ethernet port and crappy service. Sadly that's all my area has to offer.

@@EdoardoMarasa That's a DNS error so I recommend checking the DNS if it's correct, and if that doesn't work, erasing the WFC settings in the options menu

erasing your wfc settings is unreliable you would be blank in a world full of coded users practically deleting your ds from possible wifi connections is the theory i have
It doesnt work with an iPhone because iPhone will always set up hotspot with a password, or it sets up a network without WEP, which is an older type of network.

@@zsclan1651 52100 means DNS issue, so most likely the DNS was inputted correctly, however if it wasn’t I would recommend erasing the WFC settings in the options menu

I don't think it would work with DS Virtual Console games and Wii backward compatibility on Wii U, but for Wii U native games, you would want to use Pretendo Network SSSL instead, which provides enough functionality for playing online but doesn't allow for access to some of its extra features.

Ye it’s bc DS only supports the WEP Wi-Fi security or no password and if you’re erroring out it’s probably bc the Wi-Fi connection ur using isn’t WEP or passwordless.

What if ur Ds is not connecting to ur hotspot, and I cannot delete my password so that I could get it available for the Nintendo WFC connection.

The ds/3ds does not support 5ghz networks. Set the modem to 2.4ghz or enable band steering

might be a problem with your DSI wireless chip? Other than that, I don’t know.

That’s a DNS error so most likely the DNS is entered wrong or the WFC settings need to be erased first, try that it will probably fix it

Try Kaeru server. 178 then 62 then 43 then 212 works on all systems.
I got a problem: on 3ds wifi it works perfectly but than when I go to Nintendo Wifi for pk platinum, even if my wifi doesn't have password, It says that it couldn't find the IP adress, should I try find a Samung Hotspot??

@@PinchSoft I checked the DNS on 3ds wifi setting and also the one on Nintendo wifi settings but when I try to connect to internet on pk platinum it gives me error 5200, I also tried erasing the WFC setting but it doesn't work.....

erasing your wfc settings is unreliable you would be blank in a world full of coded users practically deleting your ds from possible wifi connections is the theory i have

wow just raced someone on my ds lite this is crazy bout to be on all night haha
My phone's hotspot isn't showing up on my ds lite, I have an iphone, and I checked on my other devices and it shows up.
It doesnt work with an iPhone because iPhone will always set up hotspot with a password, or it sets up a network without WEP, which is an older type of network.
I tried for a week straight and it works but no one joins. And this is on Mario kart ds.

Yeah I have a dedicated WEP router, but if you don’t have one you can setup an Open hotspot on most phones/computers
@@PinchSoft my personal hotspot doesn’t work, and I connected my WiFi manually aswell but it won’t work aswell. I keep getting error code 52100. I’m in Europe so idk if that’s something you should know
@@zsclan1651 52100 means DNS issue, so most likely the DNS was inputted correctly, however if it wasn’t I would recommend erasing the WFC settings in the options menu

I don't think it would work with DS Virtual Console games and Wii backward compatibility on Wii U, but for Wii U native games, you would want to use Pretendo Network SSSL instead, which provides enough functionality for playing online but doesn't allow for access to some of its extra features.
