This looks promising. It's a good mind set for training without a coach. I'll go with it...........
I just came off from Mr. Darren Stow who gave a short video on how to manage your race over the 400m and it's kinda like the video done by a Mr. Latif Thomas...........................

I'm a distance runner with approximately 6 fast-twitch muscle fibers in my whole body, but I'm trying some sprinting for a change this summer because it's too dang hot and humid for marathon work. I don't think I'll be able to hit the suggested women's times for these workouts!

@@david7395 update: I hit my goal for the 200, fell short in the 400 but still PR'd before having a hamstring issue from a car crash. Never was fast enough to measure up to the ladies running these workouts.

@@macksonamission1784 Lol I feel your pain. Took me 3 years of track to get down to a 50 in the 400. Kid walks on and runs a 46 after 1 month of training and breaks the school record

@@david7395 sounds about right. But I can't help but think the persistence and dedication you put into your 50 is part of what made you who you are today. People to whom things come easily don't learn the same lessons. In the long run, unless you're Olympic caliber, what matters is not the running you do but the man running makes of you.

Y’all Rocked this! I’m rookie track coach/ex track athlete-sprinter from 90’s. I’ve personally kept up my track training over the years for personal fitness and Just got my dream opportunity to coach track including my HS daughter and ES son. I have a lot of beginners on my squad but some seasoned athletes as well. This is just what I need to provide structure to my practices! I’m literally sending this video to my sprinters and is going to type out the instructions! Printing you guys face out on the front cover and giving y’all ALL the credit🙌🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Nice. I'm 30 next week... Am I too old to start running 400? Can I expect to brake 55 seconds? Ran 58 today on my 3rd ever attempt, I'm fit but never done much running 🏃 but I've really enjoyed having a go at the 400 m

Running slow miles takes no athleticism and minimal time to recover from. Sprinting and lifting heavy weights takes a lot to recover from. If you don’t recover you don’t run fast. So tired of that runner mentality where more is better and sprinters are lazy it’s very ignorant.

    • @PresbianTier

Anthony Wilson slow miles my ass. I understand the point you are trying to implement but at the same time you dissed long distance runners as well.

    • @kboy128

Sprinting is at a higher intensity so rest is 2x as important. Distance running isn’t intense at all...
