Great video, Tamara! I really appreciate the research you put into this. This video proves the MAFS vetting process/background check/evaluation is inadequate. They've done this for 14 seasons and still can't get it right.

Ya unfortunately it makes for more interesting TV, it gets the ratings up so the show runners are all for it.

Did you miss the episode where she practically jumped in his lap while he was seated, waiving her hands inches from his face screaming cussing calling him a bitch? How about when she trapped him in the restroom yelling screaming and attacking him? That is not the way woman behaves or treats a man who is abusive, volent or that she fears. Interesting how females can only see him as the culprit. Must be girl code.

Wow! I had heard about a few of these but not the earlier couples. MAFS has a worse reputation in selecting toxic participants than what I originally thought. They really need to better investigation into these people. Some of these people are dangerous.
Yes. It's risky to choose people who have a shady past, even if they were young.
Ryan was enabled by his mother and family.
Mia was abused by her dad, this ex that we know of and her husband, but she has more strength than them all to hold all that in and vindicate herself when the time was right. She's so beautiful and I'm glad she freed herself from them. I hope her dad changed his behavior towards her after he heard what she had to say about him on the show.

Mia admitted that she used her ex's credit card without his permission. That's what he filed charges for.
He also filled stalking charges, 3 counts. 😉

This is the first time I'm seeing Taylor's UNEDITED infamous instagram video with her short list of requirements, and I have one question. Why did they black out the "not gay" part??? I honestly thought this whole time it said something like "big dick" or something inappropriate... How is a woman asking for a male partner who is not gay something that is needed to be censored?

Because anything that can be even slightly construed as offensive unsupportive to the alphabet community is grounds to call you a phobic, considered assault, cause you to be canceled, fired and ostracized. Her saying she wanted a man who is not gay is like putting being gay in a negative category. And like they say about trans women we don't have a right to to reject them. So there you there is your answer I'm not afraid to say it.
There's nothing wrong with it, but in the context of the show if the audience saw that it wouldn't be a stretch to assume she's saying her husband is actually gay or bi and that's what is contributing to their issues. If dude is gay and not out and any negative repercussions came about like threats, violence, loss of job, social isolation, and so on that opens mafs up to potential lawsuits
Wow! Great Job, (as usual!) As an OG MAFS viewer, I guessed 5 out of 5, but had NO idea about most of the legal dramas behind the scenes! Considering the high odds of being matched with a nut-cake, the happy marriages that have come out of this show are all the more remarkable. 🤷🏾♀️
Good point! It's more unusual to have a happy marriage....it should be expected to be in a train wreck of a marriage.

David Norton rejected both ladies at the end of the Second Chances. (As an average looking guy who is very basic, he had no business rejecting the two finalists). Sounds like they dodged a bullet. He seemed like a frat guy who's all like, "I like football and beer and I work out despite having a dad bod". That Second Chance show just showed that he goes for girls who aren't into him and gets all obsessed with them. One can argue that 2007 was a long time ago but he seems to still be shady and unlikable by the ladies on both seasons on this show.
He was basically sociopathic on that show. I know it sounds extreme, but he was obsessive, creepy, a liar, he was laughing at the finale. And Dr Pepper didn’t even listen to what the finalists were telling her about him at the finale!
I never watched that show. I may need to dig it up and check it out. I like hearing both of your summations of his behavior on the show. 🤔

At the end, we found out he had messaged on Facebook the multiple contestants he had eliminated, then he was sitting there saying he had only been thinking of one woman (that he had eliminated) the entire time. He said this to all of the women at once! Dr. Pepper was defending him and saying he was a good person 😂
They should really just cancel the show OR take the cast members background check MORE SERIOUSLY 😐😕

Thanks, Tamara. Consistent with Jessica’s attorneys, I agree that in the quest for ratings MAFS has placed the emotional well being and potential safety of contestants at risk. It seems that, at a minimum, producers should broadly address issues that place those on the show at risk and may serve as triggers for those who’ve had similar experiences. A screen disclaimer would be helpful.
Yeah, they really shouldn't take chances on people who have a questionable past that they know about. Yes, people can change but since they don't know these people, they shouldn't take their word for it...that they changed.

I always had a feeling that Mia's ex lied about those stalking and fraud changes. The timing of the police report was coincidentally close to the start of her time on MAFS.

I believe a lot of the people shouldn’t be on MAFS. not sure why the therapists don’t see this. A lot of folks truly want to get married why not chose them
That’s true. I don’t know why the therapists chose some of these people. They just seem to want matches and a paycheck, even toxic matches are a match in their book.
Yeah, matching folks is a tough gig. Not sure if you're familiar with the current dating pool but there's a lot of crap in the pool. On top of that, only a small portion sign up for the show, then from that they have to find people they can pair. It's tough. In any case, they should pass by the people with domestic violence on their record.

Interesting video, Tamara. I wasn’t watching the show when this Ryan was on but after watching season 12, I went back and viewed ALL of the shows. This Ryan definitely stood out. I was shocked at his temper when he knew a camera was on him. The other person with a temper that he didn’t try much to hide was Brandon. He scared me when he got in the producers’ face that time. Looked psychotic! Just goes to show that cuteness can fool you, lol. And that other guy (David?) was allowed to be in TWO shows?! Unbelievable! I was expecting Chris Williams to be in the lineup somewhere, lol. Since that was my first MAFS season of watching, he stands out as the worst MAFS spouse of all time.
Brandon always seemed legit psycho to me and I don’t even think he can help it. Lol. I watched the show when Ryan was on, but I forgot all about some of these couples from way back to when!
Chris doesn’t make this list because tho hostile toward his wife and the process, it didn’t involve legal action…as far as we know... to date. But, he is without a doubt an award winner in the MAFS Husband Hall of Shame.
Yeah, Ryan is a stand out for the wrong reasons. I don't remember a lot of the older participants, off the bat, but I always remember him.

I saw Mia at the Houston Airport about a month after the series ended and she had a hooded on, no sunglasses, looking at her phone with corded earbuds (as not to be disturbed), and walking. People recognized her and left her alone, as did I, but it was pretty cool to see a reality star in person.
Zac gaslite Mykala something awful. I like he would disappear randomly alot (because side pieces would call for dates) early on into the marriage. I think thats why we got scenes like the disinfectant wiped and Foosball table.😕

It is quite obvious Taylor was the aggressor. On the show she would jump up in his face waving her hands in his face calling him a b****. I said then this is the kind of woman that will falsely accuse you of abuse and have you arrested for something you didn't do. Why would she go where he worked, used to work or may possibly be? She wanted to start crap. In her own words the real issue was that he followed her out of the bar and took pictures of her. So she's upset that he's taking pictures of her in a public place when while she is dressed her best and in full makeup. But her video taping him while snoring and drooling without his initial knowledge to put on her social media is okay and even funny to her. He was unable to control his anger or express it in a proper manner in public. She was very manipulative and used that to make him look worse. Like starting an argument just before they were going in public or meeting with the rest of the group so that he would be angry knowing that he could not control himself and would act inappropriately in front of the rest. She said in the video that she could not find the man she wants and that she would likely stay single. One of the problems is she is not as attractive as she thinks she is. The second part is she is not attractive enough for even Simps to put up with that personality. It'll be interesting to see what happens with the new guy. I'm betting he won't be around long and he will likely be accused of something henious.

I though David was cool and felt bad for him she was cold as a rock , watching it back he was really pushy and needy , maybe she was turned off because he felt something sketchy about him ( obsessive behavior, perhaps) and he kept lashing out pretending it was about his dad passing out but it was most likely frustration because things weren’t going his way and he could not be more forceful with the cameras there , what a crazy thing to just marry a stranger , wtf 🎉 that’s why the show is so entertaining 😂😢

I've only watched the first two seasons/cycles. When I heard about Jessica and Ryan and how abusive he was, I stopped. I did not want to be a party to poor vetting and risking the safety of participants who just wanted to be loved. Why is Ryan still walking around free? Shouldn't he at least be on some kind of probation? He was psycho.
Hopefully Ryan has sought help and has changed since his MAFS days.

I want to be honest and watching rh show Brandon's and Taylor relationship stuck out with all the other ones. Since it seem it could work but where alot of things that affected it I know alot of blame Brandon and I see his fault with handling situations but he did try to work it out with forgiveness. Alot giving the silence treatment isn't good it is better to recollect before talking. Taylor seem like a fun person but she had alot of faults aswell invalidating his anxiety attack, and when apologizing she would want to be forgiven quickly but forgiveness isn't easy. It was fun seeing the season and enjoy it and thabk you for the fun facts.

Most of the men on this show is sus.. only a tiny few are genuine and husband material
I don't understand... you marry someone as part of a reality show which ends in eight weeks ... i can understand feeling a little bruised at the end if it doesn't work out but how do you become so vested that you end up in court with restraining orders and stuff? After 8 weeks you should be able to walk away fairly intact . No shared bank accounts, children, sickness, deaths,family events all of which make up a real marriage
Agreed! Guess it depends on their personalities...some can't let go of anger or bitterness quickly.
Because it is a real marriage. They don’t just have fake weddings for a tv show. Some people actually go on the show to find real love. Real feelings are involved. It is possible to fall in love with someone in such a short time. I believe the couples that did stay together and now have kids is a great example of that. Some couples are definitely not a good match, but that doesn’t mean one of them can’t grow feelings for the person they married. The show definitely needs to stop picking some of these toxic people though. Ratings are not worth it when people actual feelings are on the line

David was an asshole. He came off nice on the original mafs but second chances showed who he really was. He kept chasing the girl that clearly had no interest in him and she just wanted attention. I forget her name. He then wasted the other girls time.

I’m annoyed that Mia states that her arrest she was a woman of color who was treated guilty? First I’m tired of people throwing the race crap out on a situation that has nothing to do on race. This takes away from real victims of racial injustice yes she is innocent and a victim of her crazy ex lying on her but not because she is a woman of color. I’m just sick of that always being used in everything when there are actual real victims who are discriminated against because of there colour
