I loved Bao. She was one of the realest and most kinder persons on this season. Poor girl got dealt and Johnny hand and a Zack hand. Both men who manipulate and won't take any accountability for their actions. It's always someone else's fault.
Yeah, she keeps getting dealt a bad hand. I suspect she ignored some signs with Zack though...even though I have no proof. 😉

There is nothing wrong with that but we ignore signs and give them excuses because we believe everyone deserves a chance. However, I love the way she doesn't over reacted and asked for proof. She handled it very well with out blasting him in public.

@@sattasana8836 I'm confused how she's considered a manipulator when Zach is the one that asked her out on a date? Both Bao and Zach went on that show to find a spouse. The only one that was serious about finding one would be Bao considering Zach was sleeping around on Michaela, Bao, and the other 2 women claiming to be sleeping with him all at the same time. But do I agree Bao shouldn't be with Zach, yes...that's only because we have the receipts and the text messages showing how he is a dog.

I like Bao she was a wonderful wife and very consoling to that childish husband she was married to. I’m so glad Bao didn’t want to stay in the marriage with this very abrasive and abusive guy.

This was her best decision ever - the first clue was when he didn’t take her to the family birthday party - that’s a slap in the face for her - and the times he when to his own house to recharge- that was disrespectful towards her- that’s enough of red flags for her not to stay in this marriage- there isn’t one girl out there to Johnny boy standards
I like what you said about Johnny pointing out things he didn't like about Bao being things he was actually doing. I've noticed this in all my relationships when a partner mentions something I do they don't like or something their ex did that they didn't like, it's something they don't like about themselves.
Yes. I can relate. I've even been falsely accused of doing things he was doing.
I'm glad Johnny's family was supportive of Bao, but that family circle to evaluate them was bound to generate trouble. I guess his disinviting her was what made them come up with that plan--curiosity over why he refused to even tolerate her presence.
I'm glad that whole season is over. I am now conditioned to expect all future seasons to be train wrecks, too, no matter what smidgeon of optimism is served to us in introductory episodes.
I am with you on that. I don't have high expectations for successful marriages...this is more like an unscripted soap opera for me. haha

Johnny was more concerned with what he was getting out of it than what he was putting in. He probably has good relationships with the other cast members because outside of a relationship he could be a nice guy. he didn’t want Bao, he treated her poorly and once she distanced herself from it she saw it for what it was. For someone who required a lot of Grace from others he didn’t get very much of it and return

No, this doesn't surprise me @ all, Jonny said some bad things to Bao, she tried to make it work so many times.
Yeah, I think she tried too hard to make it work given his attitude towards her.
Worst season ever! All mismatches! Bao BEST knew how to put her BEST foot forward. Always in control of her emotions, she seemed intentional in her actions and communications.
Johnny seemed like he preferred someone other than her-someone more spontaneous, perhaps from a different background. No matter, he should never have let some of the hostile things he said to her escape his lips.

Honestly, Johnny was a punk! She is so cute and sweet and classy at all at once. She deserves so much better and I hope she finds it. This girl “Sara????” She is a looser so called jealous friend. I hope he gets what he deserves which is to stay single.
He kept complaining and complaining about everything she did. He was lucky to be matched with such an intelligent and attractive mate. He is nothing to look at.
I love that now we get some background info about why some of the cast members behaved the way they did.

I'm guessing Johnny and Myrla are only friends because she doesn't want to date him - not to preserve the friendship. She probably enjoys him as a friend but she realizes he selfish, self centered and not financially stable enough for Myrla. Myrla wants someone who will focus on her, Johnny only focuses on himself.

Didn't change my feeling about them. Johnny is still a hateful little man. He & Myrla have much more in common that just finances. They have the same uncaring, hurtful attitude toward those they are done with that have done nothing except put up with their shit for 2 months.

I get both sides honestly. Johnny was emotionally immature and needed extra individual counseling about him not holding grudges and accepting other perspectives. In his head he felt attacked because Bao's self control in juxtaposition of his raw reactions shook up how he viewed himself. Bao wanted to keep things private and more to herself but they matched her with a bare it all extra kind of person. Sometimes that dynamic works but the trust was lost early on so instead of enjoying the best parts of eachother they got stuck.
Johnny was an a** during the season but it is weird to know they left on good terms then Bao switched up after but that could just be how her feelings marinated after watching it all back.
Great perspective. 💜 I really think Johnny isn't ready for marriage. He has mother issues he needs to heal. He said his mother never told him that she loved him. He also said that he likes women who are super clingy. I believe he's looking for the nurturing his mother never gave him from his potential spouse. That is a big burden to carry for a woman who is looking for a husband not a child. I'm sure Bao had some quirky flaws too. But because Johnny behaved like such a jerk hers were overshadowed by his. 🤪
Even at the party he uninvited her to there was a family member trying their best to give him sound advice and he didn’t want to hear it. Same thing when he talked his friends. It’s him!
That circle argument is awkward but extends true love
It could have been editing, but what I noticed was a Lot of Johnny saying, "Bao needs to," "I need this from Bao," "Bao doesn't," "I want," "I want to be invited to do X," "I don't like X about you." There was little to no, "What does Bao need?" "What can I do for Bao?" "Can I do X with you?"
Johnny was gaslighting Bao and beating her down, being downright aggressive about it, at every turn. He'd Say he was going to try, but then went Straight to insulting and blaming her for the lack of his attraction to her.
Johnny is a small angry child who has zero notion of the fact that a relationship is Give and take, not take take take take take, then bitch about what he's getting not being enough. He needs to do some serious work on himself. Either that or he needs to realize he doesn't want a wife - he wants a subservient brainless girl to make him feel like a king for nothing in return.
I'm sure Bao isn't perfect, but Dang. If someone was that nice and reasonable with me as I'm railing on them, I'd be questioning why I'm such a jerk.

He was a brat in this relationship! He had unrealistic expectations for their relationship. While she was worried about how she came off on tv I feel like she really was trying. He said she didn’t do things like making dinner but then they showed her prepping meals. Idk if I trust his opinions of her being manipulative when he showed his true colors.

I was surprised by Bao and Zach because Bao said in the matchmaking special that she wanted to be matched with an Asian or White man.

She and Zack joked about if he'd shown up at the altar it would have been over from the start. I'm guessing her race choices during match making was cultural pressures to appease her family for marrying a stranger, along with wanting a traditional Chinese ceremony. I think the experts would have more mixed race couples if they were pairing couples by personalities. Did Johnny really seem like a good match for her or was he the only other Asian available??? I would have paired Brett and Gil together too.

The family cookout wasn't filmed with her there and he still was fuming to the point the women in his family called him out. Everything he accused her of he did it himself. Yeah key word "adversaries". Bao wants to maintain some level of privacy and integrity on the show. His efforts displayed against her... why would they be friends after divorce.....DUH! If you watch the after shows when Johnny and myrla are together , all they do is flirt. I know it sounds crazy but I do believe they had some sort of fling going on. I have no clue what Myrla sees in Johnny but girl couldn’t keep her hands off him🤢 maybe cause they both have narcissistic tendencies 🤷♀️

I liked Bao up until I realized she was sleeping with Zach; and I believe they started hooking up before the retreat. I’m not one to do a witch hunt on people having extramarital affairs or anything like that. I just don’t like how she was pretending to be friends with Micheala the whole time just to get the clearance she felt she needed to continue on with Zach. If it was about consoling Micheala, why didn’t she console Brett? Shoot, Brett’s dog died and could’ve used all of the face wiping and woo-woo’ing she was giving Micheala, but she didn’t. I’m more inclined to believe Johnny on this one.

The only thing I can see with Johnny is him saying that Bao wanted to control the narrative because herself said that on the finale. If you notice, he always said she was different when nobody was around- which again, they both admit to and I think he was just really tired of that because it was his marriage too. He had his own issues but I do see what he’s saying.
I don't recall her saying she was different in front of cameras. I recall her saying she was uncomfortable and wanted to plan what she said though.
I always understood what he was saying. He was a turd about it, but I understand not wanting to be with or trusting a representative of the person that you married. And then at that dinner (where he assaulted the flowers) she basically threw him under the bus after it was her desire to be private about things. Even Dr. Viviana said that she was manipulative but ppl saw her sweet face and his nastiness and drew their own conclusions

She's not unclean and the whole cooking thing was so minor. I don't think she purposely meant to mislead. She was just making a point at her efforts. Also people who are in depression sometimes don't want to shower everyday. It sounds like she's someone who may have low grade depression. Her childhood sounds like it was very painful. Looks like she hasn't fully processed it out of her psyche.
Nope not buying it! The shower thing was blown out of proportion if you watch her interviews. There was NEVER a time on the show when anyone complained that Bao was dirty. Johnny was a jerk to her!
