As a locally successful Detroit-area artist, he performed and recorded with the groups Bob Seger and the Last Heard and the Bob Seger System throughout the 1960s, breaking through with his first album, Ramblin' Gamblin' Man in 1969.

When I was a kid my mom used to take me to work and she worked at a bar I got free games food whatever I wanted all night long at 7 years old living the life and Bob Seger was a part of that along with CCR Joan Jett ACDC Ozzy Joplin Elvis and I learned Street smarts. I remember the jukeboxes and video games and pool and pickled pigs feet peanuts and the smell of beer Waterway to start your life don't get me wrong I loved it
