    Please don’t stop sharing $ numbers! It’s definitely a motivator for me, personally. It shows me that this IS possible and I just need to keep going. ♥️

      I am so glad! I was (and still am) totally clueless about the possibility of money on TPT because no one talks about it!

      I agree. Adding the process was very helpful and motivating. I'm just seriously getting started, so this was helpful. I started off with UA-cam first. TpT is next.

    Lessons I’ve learned the past few months on TPT:
    - Pictures/videos of products in action are super helpful when bringing in sales
    - FULL PREVIEWS... I honestly was so naive when I started and had no idea that you could include PDFs as a preview. I’m now working on posting all products as watermarked full previews and I think it’s making a big difference!

    • @BeccaDavis
      @BeccaDavis  4 роки тому +2

      Yes, previews make a huge difference! I have been working on those, especially for any larger zip files. My theory is that if people know what they are getting, they won't be disappointed! Thanks for sharing your tips!

      How do you watermark something?

    • @queenkitty7725
      @queenkitty7725 3 роки тому

      @@BeccaDavis Yes, I agree. As a consumer, I find it helpful to be able to see the product in a larger format available through the preview. Sometimes if there is no preview, I just move on because I can't see the product well enough to determine if I really want it.

    I don’t sell TpT but as I buyer, I like it when a seller has a “catalog” In their store. (See Allison’s store at “Learning at the Primary Pond” to see what I mean). It makes it easy for me to shop with her. I shop with another seller a lot & I wish she had a catalog like Allison’s. So, maybe think about adding a catalog. It makes it easier to see how products fit together.
    As a buyer, I also tend to buy from sellers who have an imbedded or online video showing me how to teach with the product. (Again Allison and also Amy Lemons w/Magic of Math.) Allison has at least one free video actually in TpT.
    Everything I use in my classroom is from TpT. I like to buy bundles of products that work together for consistency for my kiddos from sources who have videos & webinars.

    Hey Becca,
    This is my first year in business on TPT so this video has helped me so much to put things into perspective. So often I feel like things aren't going as fast as I would want them to, I'm not making enough progress, but I think a big chunk of that is just comparing my result with people who have been doing TPT for years. 1000$ has been my goal too for the first year, and similarly I've been able to go quite a bit over my goal in the fall, at the beginning of the year. I also created an email list, almost from the word go as per your advice, but I didn't do much with it either. My focus has been product creation rather than marketing, so I need to get better at making sure people find my products.

    Way to go Becca! You deserve all the money you make. I don’t know why money is a taboo topic in our society. Don’t be afraid of giving out numbers. It’s so encouraging to people like me.
    Also thank you for the info about bundles. I hesitant to make one but now I know I should.

    Thank you so much for your videos. I'm considering starting a TPT store and wanted to get some information before doing so. Thank you for being so candid! It's much appreciated! Just out of curiosity, have you considered selling your materials directly from your bog to avoid all the high fees on TPT? Also, in the past year, have you decided to be a Premium seller? I'm not a music teacher but I looked at your store and it looks fabulous! You have passion and I wish you much success!

    • @BeccaDavis
      @BeccaDavis  4 роки тому

      Thank you for all of your kind words! Yes, I am a premium seller. I saved all of my TPT earnings and as soon as I hit $60, I upgraded. It is well worth it in the long run if you are making more than a few $ a month. Yes, I have though about selling from my blog, and I plan to do that sometime in the future. There are a lot of technical things that I am not ready to deal with yet. Also, TPT has built in traffic that my blog does not, so I would probably leave my stuff on TPT for search purposes. Great questions!

    You’ve been the most helpful I always watch all your videos. One thing I notice is a lot of products have zip files instead of only pdf .....can you explain more on zip files?? Sometimes when I download products from sellers I get a regular pdf ....and other times it’s a zip with a folder and bunch of different things...what are the differences or why choose one over the other and how would you make a zip file like that as well?

    • @BeccaDavis
      @BeccaDavis  4 роки тому +2

      I’m so glad they are helpful! A zip is basically just a folder that’s compressed so that it can be uploaded to tpt. So if you need multiple files (PDF and PowerPoint or multiple PDFs) then you would use a zip file.

    • @karincollado
      @karincollado 4 роки тому

      Becca Davis ahh multiple different files!! Got it! I’ll google on how to make a zip file lol ive always heard of them or seen them on TPT but didn’t know exact what they were or how to make one!!! Thanks you ❤️❤️❤️

    Do you use the same products/resources that you use for your own class or do you make the products just for TpT?

    • @BeccaDavis

    How much do you spend per month on advertising and are there other expenses?

    • @BeccaDavis
      @BeccaDavis  4 роки тому +4

      In this video, none. The past few months, I spent between 30-90 on Pinterest Ads but they are not working as well as I want them to, so I am not currently running any until I can figure them out better. Other expenses include my website (160 a year), tailwind (I think also 160 a year because I also have it for instagram), email (30 a month), HP Instant Ink (10 a month), and I have a business coahing service that I use that is 40 a month. Obviously I was not doing all of that when I was only making $7 a month, but now that I am making close to or over 1000, that is the list of expenses.
