    Thank you so much for explaining all this! I am thinking of making a TPT store but was so unsure of all the background stuff I would have to do. This has made it so much clearer!

    I’m too tired to do blog. 😩I just feel like a teacher artist and what to sell my product. I believe in it so much!

      Don't stress about it! Blogging is great, because a lot of times you will have an awesome product, but people will not realize how great it is. Blogging allows you to show more of your product. Just set aside an hour or two a month to make one blog post happen! I am currently releasing a blogging series (two videos out and one to go I believe) so go check those out for help!

    Hello again! I'm feeling stuck with my store, and wondering about your blog/email list. How do you use that to promote products?

    • @BeccaDavis
      @BeccaDavis  5 років тому

      Laura Risdall {VIPKID teacher!} Hello! So I have been running my blog for about a year and a half and just added TPT I’m in September. Basically, I will write a blog post that explains an idea or a lesson and then I link to a product that goes along with it if I have one. One of my goals this year is to add more blog posts about products! I love to have free content and it helps people get a bit of a preview before deciding to buy. As far as my email list, I send out a blast once every two weeks with a short message and links to some new stuff. I am not sure if it is the best way to do it but for now that’s what I am doing!

    Are we allowed to use fonts already in powerpoint (ie. Arial, Calibri), or do we have to purchase fonts to use in our products? Thanks!

    • @BeccaDavis
      @BeccaDavis  5 років тому +2

      I was not 100% sure about this, so I looked it up and will put the link below. It seems that some of the fonts may be fine to use but it depends on the font. You would have to check the licensing. I just think it is safer to use fonts that I purchased off of TPT. There are some good free ones that are available. Just make sure you read their terms of use and make sure that you are allowed to use them for commercial use. Some of my favorite fonts are ones I got off of TPT for free, though. Just search fonts. Also, it may be different if you sell it as a powerpoint or a PDF. A PDF will make it look the same way on all computers. If you sell a powerpoint, and they do not have that font on their computer, then it will change it on their computer to something they do have. I am not sure if that makes a difference!

      Becca Davis So would you just recommend using fonts from TPT as opposed to the ones pre-installed? I am still using the preinstalled fonts lol

    Hi Becca, thank you for all your TPT videos. Hey, I was wondering what you mean by making "square covers." Do you mean for your profile pic or do you mean the first page of each lesson plan? Thank you very much, David

    • @BeccaDavis
      @BeccaDavis  4 роки тому

      I mean for the picture that pops up when you see a resource. So when you upload a resource, it will create 4 thumbnails, which is the little preview. The first one needs to be a square. You can see the uploading process in my video here: ua-cam.com/video/BHv3ZuZmqao/v-deo.html
      You can also see how I make my square covers on Canva here: ua-cam.com/video/e7dvrHmdoBQ/v-deo.html

    Hi Becca , what should be the slide size of PPT to make a preview file for TPT ? I just use the default slide size but after uploading it on TPT , it turns out to be a bit smaller than what it should be. I'll appreciate your advice.
    Thanks !

    • @BeccaDavis
      @BeccaDavis  3 роки тому +1

      I just do them whatever size my product is. I wouldn't stress about that too much.

    Hello Becca! A very informative video as always!! I was wondering about the copyright claim of your work. Do you have to be registered as a company in order to put your name on your products with the little “c” symbol?

    • @BeccaDavis
      @BeccaDavis  3 роки тому +2

      Nope! Everyone has copyright as soon as you make something. It is your intellectual property. But if you are making any money at all, you do need to register as a business so you don’t get in trouble!

    • @markelapd6619
      @markelapd6619 3 роки тому

      Becca Davis Got it! And by “any money at all” do you mean a considerable amount of money? Is there a specific time frame of when you need to register as a business?

  • @sciencelabvideosl7558
    @sciencelabvideosl7558 5 років тому +1

    Does it stay your intellectual property or does teacher pay teachers own part of your stuff? I vacillating ten selling it myself and or using TPT.

    • @BeccaDavis
      @BeccaDavis  5 років тому +1

      You keep all of your rights! Your products belong to you. If you look at something that you have downloaded from TPT, you will even see a Terms of Use page that should say that the rights belong to the person who made it. I also add "R. Davis 2019" at the bottom of the pages so no one can pass it off as their own.

    • @BeccaDavis
      @BeccaDavis  5 років тому +1

      TPT does take a small commission, but when you use them, you do not have to try to deal with getting the money to you and the product to the buyer. Also, TPT has a built in audience, which really helps!
