That, along with the guided tour of such lovely craft has given me my latest You Tube binge

3 seconds in and WHAM straight in with a lovely first word. As the minutes go by, the lovelies keep coming as we're dazzled by all the cupboards and the clean oven insides. Just as we think it's getting a bit dull, we're hit with 3 LOVELIES in a row, POW POW POW! Blind sided by the lovely boat, I'm almost in a frenzy. We think it's all over and wow - one more lovely and it IS NOW! 7 "lovelies" in 8.5 minutes - surely a record and validation this boat is worth every single penny....

Really lovely boat. Lots of ample cupboard space. The freezer, flat solar panels, and washing machine are always a nice bonus. Would be nice if the dinette area was convertable to a bed. The storage under the bed would be ideal for an inflatable boat, should you need one in case of emergencies. I enjoy watching your videos, including the "cupboard reviews,"😂 as storage is important for those who consider liveaboards. I just really wish you would show the engine, as I imagine that is an expensive component to replace should it be a crappy engine. Otherwise, again enjoy the videos. I dream of one day going back to the UK and doing a week's holiday on one of these canal boats. Someone will be happy with this purchase.

Absolutely beautiful boat! Perfectly thought out for a live aboard, washer and a separate freezer, plenty of solar and I thought the dinette placement and style was really innovative and so well done, making space for 4 overnight guests so practical. Great pramhood too. One for the serious boatbuyer, it would be a shame to waste such a stunningly fitted out boat on a weekender.

Not alot of solar at all. Also the fact they are flat panels not raised means they wont ever capture more than half the sun even in a bright summers day so that 3 times 100watt turns into a max of 3 times 50watt. I would want over a 1kw of solar min and with raise panels that i could adjust to face the sun.

After years of planning for a boat I finally visited Stowe Hill last week as part of my initial boaty reconnaissance... very welcoming and attentive staff and they clearly have a nice setup. They didn't have the boat I wanted at the time but well worth a visit if you're looking for a narrowboat.

I can't recall seeing a layout that puts the dinette in the very front before... but I like it! Especially the flipping backrest to make a couch for the saloon.
Actually I think I like just about every part of this boat. Certain to be snatched up by some happy buyers in no time.

Due to the popularity of their channel a great boat and great name and 5.5k views in less than 24 hours etc It's only a matter of time before potential buyers won't get time to think about whether they want to buy it or not as it only takes one of the 5.5 viewers of one of these videos to phone up and buy it etc Some buyers will have seen enough on the video to be confident in buying it based on the youtube video tour of it etc

A little risky for a live aboard in New York State . More than half the state freezes solid in winter. But I guess you could get it hauled out and shrink wrapped for winter if just a pleasure boat. Taxes would suck.

    • @terryv

These narrowboats are in the UK for a reason: its canal system - narrow and calm. Completely unsuitable for almost any US waterways, which are too rough and choppy for this style boat. Accordingly, a wise buyer thinks resale (not to mention the cost of getting one shipped to or built in New York to begin with). You’re better off sticking to US-designed houseboats, tugs, or cabin cruisers. You stray over to this style at your peril.

@@terryv Perhaps he can be stupid with his money. Sigh. Some of these boats get navigated down the Thames and across the Channel to France. So maybe not so stupid. Just a wish on his part. What do you call a hole in the water you throw money into? A Boat!

For this kind of ,money one can buy a boat that will actually go somewhere. I don't think these narrowboats would even make it to Ireland without turning turtle. Seems like a nice sailboat with a narrow beam would cruise the canals if one wanted to and then, once you get to a river, you can strike out and go around the world possibly . . . or surely Ireland. What am I missing? For 70K one can buy amazing boats that are actually versatile.

@@mikefry6765 Such a circumscribed existence with no horizons. It's for those who are comfortable being "channeled". Other than as a brief holiday, such a life is suited for very old age with appropriately slight challenges. Where no navigational skills are required. Where destinations are predictable and sparse. Calling those mud puddles with parking spaces "marinas" is laughable. In a healthy person choosing a life with such limitations will stunt ones imagination and desire for adventure or, for those who have none or little of these, it offers something safe and stultifying. I'm just thinking that, for the money, one can at least buy a boat that allows one to expand, to go somewhere. These things are for nearly dead people.
On second thought perhaps that's too negative. Life on a narrowboat seems much more preferable than assisted living, so there's that.

An otherwise stunning boat ruined by the layout (personal opinion). The reversed dinette and saloon bugs me. It makes entry harder than normal if the tables are up. had that been reversed, and been a pullman dinette with the reversible seat it'd be perfect.

@@Shrike0064 Oh I just mean the saloon and dinette. I prefer the bedroom at the back and the saloon at the front. that way you get the light of the day from the glazed doors, in the main living areas.

    • @misery13666
      @misery13666 4 роки тому

@@Shrike0064 I'm american too, currently live in las vegas and have the same retirement plan. While cruising yes you would enter via the back as it's closer. But any time you're moored up (on the canalside or in a marina) you can just enter from the bow. For me it's more just a matter of natural light. I'd rather have the natural light of the windowed front doors, and the ability to open them and get a breeze inside the living areas. Having a darker bedroom means little to me. That said bringing in shopping is harder as you have to step into the well deck and duck in. It's all preference. If I was going to do a forward bedroom I'd want a tug deck front and have the bed below it. Then use the open tug-deck top to house a motorcycle to get around on when off the boat (I've seen it, but it requires a custom build). I also liked a boat they sold called "Drake" that was front bedroom. It was a converted butty, and had an excellent layout in my opinion though needed some updating. .
