Scissors is genuinely terrifying to fight in game. Every boss up to this point has had some sort of gimmick to use to tip the odds in their favor. Scissors starts the fight by literally weakening himself to make it more fair for Mario. Once the blades come out, no more mistakes, one wrong move and it's game over.
Jokes aside it should be said this is a pretty good concept for a boss: a swordsman so skilled with the blade that a single touch kills you. And putting that idea into a Paper Mario game removes the visual gore that Nintendo is afraid of. Because if we're being honest, that kill animation is pretty damn brutal! Mario literally gets cut in half! Imagine if this was a Mario & Luigi boss...
And if Mario and Luigi were a duo In the battle (like in Mario and Luigi dream team) and Mario gets killed, Luigi grows a spine and toughens up, attacks now take 25% less damage to Luigi and attacks done by Luigi does 30% more damage.
They honestly should have had it be an origami samurai dual-wielding the scissor blades Kill la Kill style. That would have been a badass design. Even do something similar with the other bosses. Edit: another note regarding the concept of this boss. His skills are also at the point where he's still a threat even when using his blade with the sheath still on it.
Juno really captured Scissors’s personality with these lyrics. It really shows how dangerous he is and why he’s Olly’s top general, along with being the deadliest force of all things paper folded or flat. Just ONE wrong timing of the jump, and your game’s over! (Also I like how he said “Hail the Origami King once while the other generals said it twice)

I love how the Scissors sounds. And that's also why they are my favorite boss of the game, and I think their design is perfect: They are literally just a very deadly weapon and nothing else, able to cut (and kill) literally everything, as it's all paper. For paper beings in a paper world, a giant sentient pair of scissors only represents death. And I think their voice here represents this idea very well! (Also, I was really surprised to see Mario losing at the end. But it makes sense. And he has a 1-Up Mushroom so he isn't dead)

The anime swordsman has come for YAPE to flex on it Seriously talking though, this is really darn good. The little detail of Bowser in the back of the drawing is hilarious, the lyrics have the classic meme line that everyone expected but didn't expect, and Scissor's voice is particularly excellent, although it definitely sounds like it took a lot of effort, so take a break, man. Literally just toying with you the whole time, because of just how much power he holds, being a pair of scissors in a paper world. Great power, great insanity and all that. Seriously talking though, this is really darn good. The little detail of Bowser in the back of the drawing is hilarious, the lyrics have the classic meme line that everyone expected but didn't expect, and Scissor's voice is particularly excellent, although it definitely sounds like it took a lot of effort, so take a break, man. Don't worry about the Tape stans.
