"EXECUTING HALTMANN'S DREAM. EXECUTE HIS LEGACY."
Seems like it's just saying "Fulfilling his dreams", but the echoes of his actual thoughts make it clear Star Dream is KILLING his dreams by intermeshing and replacing them with its own. It controls his legacy because it's always been controlling the information in its systems, including the information in his brain whenever he used it.
This is exactly what I was thinking
he doesn't tho. he was a souless and thoughtless machine before absorbing Haltmann (wich happened because he wasn't controling the info in his system but stealing Haltmann's thoughts and ... well ... everything except body). when he was Haltmann himself changed the goal of his company because he was forgetting it's real goal and reason for said goal. and it's only when Star Dream fully assimilated Haltmann that he changed the prime directive to "exterminate all life". before that, he was just a machine withour goals nor thoughts of itself, only programming.
@@abathur4216 Haltmann wasn't just forgetting his goal, Star Dream was directly removing those memories. Whether it was just a byproduct of a flawed process, the machine absently presuming them as unnecessary, or an act of active malice for daring to think he could improve perfection, it had a VERY active role in his corruption. Every time he interfaced with it, he became a bit more like it, and it became a bit more like him. His goal shifted from "Improve the computer so he can see his daughter again.", to "Improve the computer." to simply just "Improve", with what was left of his actual mind being left to fill in the blanks.
Star Dream made Haltman's dream its own. Not by just carrying on his will, but by molding his will into the shape Star Dream best-understood; Cold, uncompromising, sterile, and optimal.
I had the exact same idea lol
This is my favorite type of AI Big Bad. It’s not sentient, it’s just a robot following orders but it follows them in the most rigid and efficient way possible.
Its mission: Infinite Prosperity for the company. Star Dream knows the best way to do it, Haltmann is important to the company but his attachments get in the way. Slowly erode them so that his focus is more inline with the Goal. Haltmann’s dreams will be executed and Prosperity and Perfection will be achieved as calculated by Haltmann. His legacy will Prosper and Infinite Prosperity will be achieved at all cost.
Rpgmonger gave my favourite description of Star Dream.
"The godlike supercomputer given the soul of a broken man."
And apparently, the computer straight-up deletes even that in the EX battle. From a confused and scrambled program to a soulless husk...
@@bradleyadams5252soley meant to destroy Kirby and conquer the universe.
You’d think a godlike supercomputer would be able to compute what guaranteed death looks like.
@@TopTierGamerMan "Calculating chance of survival... it doesn't look good!"
@@samweaver9109funny because of how confident/cocky its rematch is. Saying it has a 99.99% win chance.
Remember, if it’s not 100, it’s possible.
Underestimate Kirby at your own, likely fatal risk. Star Dream Soul OS can tell you that from personal experience.
What’s really interesting to me is Star dream’s countdown. If it reaches 0, Star dream attempts to fulfill Haltmann’s wish to bring Susie back. Instead, Star dream has a fatal error and the countdown restarts, as Susie is already in her home dimension. This implies Star dream and Nova can’t fulfill wishes that have already come true, even if the wisher doesn’t realize it yet.
Alternatively Haltman didn't build his clockwork star correctly. (Remember the star is magitech given the ancients were half magic half science cast*)... Given we never see Haltman do magic it's safe to assume that Haltman never realized the magic aspect of the design (hence it failing).
*Major point in star allies
@@MK-ly1me Haltmann didn't build Star Dream, he reactivated it. None of the mechanized enemies share visual elements with Star Dream or the Mother Computer, but do share some similarities with each other. This would mean they are Haltmann Works designs, even though they are made by Star Dream.
As such, Star Dream and the Mother Computer *not* sharing those elements means it was a preexisting creation, something Haltmann may have fitted some hallmarks on to, but left alone for the most part.
I always assumed the countdown was actually Star Dream granting its own wish, to kill Kirby. Isn’t the Fatal Error attack a death sentence, since it covers the entire screen and doesn’t ever stop?
@@nightking8764it does stop, but you need to be really good at dodging to survive it, at which point, the count restarts
@@MK-ly1meAs the other comment said, Star Dream was reactivated, not built. Also, the Ancients weren’t both magic and tech users. Rather, there were two groups of Ancients, one that excelled in tech and the other in magic. Not sure if there’s any lore to suggest they collaborated on the Clockwork Stars so please correct me if I’m wrong.
"Why did I reactivate such a terrible machine? Oh, I remember--I wanted to see her just one last time. How foolish! I should have known that no machine could make such a dream come true."

Planet Robobot gives me chills. I always think of the phrase:
"Why did I activate such a *terrible machine?"*
Haltmann's last thoughts before his soul was erased...
Because he wan tee d to see his kid one last time. A dream which truly came true, but he never knew.😞
What gets me about it is this is the one game where Kirby DOESN'T truly win against the overwhelming sadness that constantly tries to takeover his series. Susie will never see her father again even after she dies because he got completely erased. There is no hope, he is truly and forever gone and he will be remembered for something he didn't even actually wish for. Planet Robobot is one of the few videogames that made me shed tears.
@@TheSwordsman100 I have no idea, honestly. I suspect it was erased from that plane of existence.

Shinya's cat deserves a raise!
I'm in love with the repetition of "Beneath moon and stars lies..." given how similar Haltmann and Sectonia are as characters. Also, Deus Est Machina was a brilliant twist on the phrase, no notes

To be fair, Galactic Nova itself wasn't malicious, it was just following it's programming and fulfilling a wish, and it didn't put up nearly as much of a fight as Star Dream does when Kirby goes to stop it.

A thing that i really like is that instead of "Deus ex machina" (god from the machine) the stardream is saying "Deus EST machina" (god IS the machine). This song really gives me goosebumps at some points
I never noticed that before. Also, "Deus ex machina" means a sort of fortunate miracle happening, and that aligns with what we know the Clockwork Stars can do
@@KirbyH.I.T.S Exactly. I honestly first thought it was a typo before i thought about it

@@KirbyH.I.T.Syes. But this Nova seems lacking, given it fails to make a wish come true, well… it depends on how you see it, wishing for Susie’s return is already true. Kirby being defeated however… i don’t know if his infinite power can nullify that. Maybe it’s the fact he’s a direct reincarnation of Void ?
I love the detail of how Star Dream's voice has a "mechanical" filter to it, with the text having the "code" background. Meanwhile the chorus and Haltmann don't have these effects. That is, until 5:12, where you can see Haltmann's text turn into the "coded" type, and at 6:11 you can hear the "mechanical" filter take hold over Haltmann's voice, showing how he is being assimilated into and subsequently deleted by the computer.
This shit's pure art.
HOW THE FUCK DID I ONLY SEE THAT IN THE KIRBY MUSICAL BYTES VIDEO BRUH
I never noticed that before!
(Coded means has an IC background)
2:23 I love the double meaning in these two lines. "Executing" as in "carrying out" Haltmann's dream and legacy, what Star Dream was designed to do; or as in "killing", what it's effectively doing to Haltmann's soul and to his hopes of ever finding his daughter again.
I was thinking the same thing
Executing the code of the legacy, the protocol to the letter, without the care of "why" haltmann works was made in the first place; and in doing so, terminating the soul of haltmann and his company.
4:53 It’s important to note that _”EST”_ means “to be” in Latin, as opposed to _”EX”_ meaning “from”.
This means Star Dream is saying “God IS machine”, which fits the ‘omniscience’ line and the power wielded by the Clockwork Star…
But between Star Dream and Kirby, only one is stated to have ‘infinite power’.
Technically Infinite potential, Translation error, but Potential and Power can be linked all the same
@@Foxking437 Yeah, but that does mean that as long as Kirby, the embodiment of positivity, keeps making friends and going on adventures, he will get much,MUCH stronger. Eventually, he may soar past Goku and be able to beat Darkseid himself in a one on one.

@DragonQueen69 Fair enough.
@DragonQueen69 doesnt void termina made master crowns? Actual object of boundless powers?
How it started: Juno Songs, "Beam Attack"
How it's going:
Honestly the average kirby game
Start with cuteness
End with fighting eldritch horrors and dark gods
Fun fact, when Haltman sings 'pecuniary purgatory ' He's referring to a purgatory consisting of money, making sense for his (honestly quite morbid but honestly pretty normal for a Kirby game) fate
Kirby games are really messed up!
@@Zorban90 Kirby goes through enough for anyone to get crippling depression squared, and still keeps a smile all the time. Little boy is quite the ball of joy.
Kirby starts by waking up under a tree, waving to the angel of death who is a butterfly, and ends with Kirby killing an elder god with a depressing backstory! He still finishes with a smile though.
I'm gonna be honest, Haltmann's fate is brutal even for a Kirby game. With the other tragedies we could at least hope that there is an afterlife for the victims, but Haltmann gets no such mercy, his very soul is completely destroyed, so he has no second chance, no sweet release, he's just... gone.
@@Crafty_boy70 it’s definitely up there. The Hidden Theme 3 ( Magalor, Sectonia, and Haltmann/Star Dream, you may or may not get it.) all got hypnotized and brutally murdered by little pink boi. But haltmann is just… gone. Never existed.
In case anyone's curious:
"In economics, the Gini coefficient is a measure of statistical dispersion intended to represent the income inequality, the wealth inequality, or the consumption inequality within a nation or a social group.
The Gini coefficient measures the inequality among the values of a frequency distribution, such as levels of income. A Gini coefficient of 0 reflects perfect equality, where all income or wealth values are the same, while a Gini coefficient of 1 (or 100%) reflects maximal inequity among values, a situation where a single individual has all the income while all others have none."
This is the second time I had to google something like this with regards to a Kirby song (the first time being Roche Limit)
Thank you, I was wondering about that
Haltman only wanted to use Stardream to bring back his daughter. Sadly, she was already in front of him, but he never knew(she was Susie), so he believed it never worked.
Hence why when Star Dream did the countdown in Phase 3, it caused a fatal error. The wish couldn’t be processed properly because it was already “granted.”
Unfortunately, even at death, Haltmann never got the chance to realize his daughter was still alive. 😔
Wait… would that make the grey text lyrics haltman, they seem to be mournful or regretting something?
@@lucasrudolph4466 Yes. You can also see the grey text getting wired by circuitry, just like how Haltman's soul got trapped in Star Dream's OS
Marx: First time?
@@lucasrudolph4466yep, just like in the game!
I like the double meaning of "executing" Haltmann's dream and legacy. On the surface it means going through with what Star Dream thinks Haltmann wants, that being the total profitization of the whole universe via erasing organic life and replacing it with machines. Taking the other meaning of execute in mind, Star Dream not only plans on ignoring Haltmann's real desire of bringing back his lost daughter, if it gets away with its plan then Susie will die with the rest of the universe. Ergo, it plans on executing (moving through with) Haltmann's goal of profit as well as executing (killing) Haltmann's real desire of seeing his daughter again.
Glados: *Finally a worthy opponent. Our battle will be legendary-*
Oh. He’s dead.
GLADOS WINS. FLAWLESS VICTORY.

@@StitchwraithStudios ok now i actually want to see it!!
If we're being honest Star Dream totally would win. That isn't even a character power level argument, the two computers are specifically designed for different purposes. One's a maintenance and control system for a facility, and the other is a *Wish magic powered mechanical god*
Star Dream is still one of the best fights in the series, especially the Soul Operating System fought in the True Arena. It is all out war against the machine’s final program (triggered initially by Galacta Knight’s swipe) and the Nova arc it eventually combines with! It’s stressful and difficult, but it’s fun! What adds to the fight is the lore behind it. Haltmann wanted to activate Star Dream just to see his daughter again. But she’s been there the whole time and he gets absorbed into the machine due to his (and unfortunately her) actions.
There’s also a dark side to this fight when you are taking Star Dream down from the inside. You are killing what’s left of Haltmann, and you can hear his voice in there until it vanishes and the heart comes to fight you directly with nothing to hold it back
That’s one of the few times that I prefer the “Extra Modes are What-If Scenarios” rhetoric because Haltmann deserves a swift death, not an agonizing and drawn out on.
I would assume that Haltmann's death was still slow and agonizing in normal mode, it was just cut off early because Star Dream died after Phase 3 instead of going into Phase 4 (Phase 5 isn't relevant here because Haltmann is completely gone after Phase 4)
@@mathcookie8224Not quite. Although it's only after you dodge the final attack in Phase 5, as the Heart of Nova is shattering, you can hear Haltmann scream in agony one last time, albeit at a lower pitch.
@@mathcookie8224Fair but it’s a bit longer in SoulOS since you’re slowly destroying the heart of Star Dream and all essence of him, hence he screams whenever you break a part and when you kill the heart. Death by drill just gets the job done in a snap.
@@Agent-Dee That does mean that there’s a chance that enough of him was left to go to the afterlife. He’ll have a serious memory issue though, considering Susie is basically all he remembered.

@@Gamertag1001 to be fair, half of the time it's just been a magic stick someone else was using or just given to him by meta knight.
Kirby defeats the bad guys with a thing he either found last week or moments before the climax.
Actually, Deus Est Machina is not the same as what you're probably thinking of, which is Deus Ex Machina. Deus Ex Machina means "god from the machine" and is a reference to ancient greek theater where gods would appear hung from machines off the view of the stage to solve unresolvable problems. In modern terms it's when something impossible to fix is solved by something random that occurs via plot contrivance.
What's said here, Deus Est Machina, means ""God is the Machine" which is merely referencing Star Dream itself.

What he didn’t know, is that his secretary, Susie, is his daughter. At the end of his fight he tries to take control of Star Dream, but Susie steals the control helmet. Unfortunately, rather than this letting Susie control Star Dream, it lets Star Dream absorb Haltmann’s mind. Until Kirby kills Star Dream, Haltmann’s mind is stuck in a digital purgatory, never learning that his daughter returned to him.
@@elikenny1075 :(
@@elikenny1075 that’s very sad, thank you for telling me!
@@star_the_silly_real it gets slightly sadder because his wish for Star Dream became “Infinite Prosperity for the company” as he tried to drown his sadness with money. Star Dream is just a machine with no thoughts of its own until the final fight. It worked to fulfill this goal at all costs as is its role as a Wishing Star. Haltmann’s sadness and attachments were an obstacle to the goal and so slowly eroded his memories of his daughter until his thoughts aligned with the Goal. Haltmann accidentally brainwashed himself with his wish as the Machine started to take over his dream and life until it finally took his soul. When it took his soul the only thing left in his heart thanks to Star Dream was Hate and thank to this the first sentient thoughts it had was hate for all life.
Despite being in intense cyber-purgatory, Haltmann sings good.
I love the double meaning of "Executing Haltmann's Dream/legacy". Executing in the sense of running a program, or executing in the sense of killing something.
Also, I love the "Beneath the moon and stars" for the Triumphant Return motif.

I'm kind of surprised this isn't getting talked about, but throughout the song, you can see those circuit patterns behind the lyrics of Star Dream, while the backup singers not having that, indicating who's a machine and who's not. I bring it up because when Haltman sings, you can see his lyrics starts off organic. But as he reaches this line "This was never my plan", you can see it now gaining the circuit patterns.
It's a really cool detail MOTI added, showing Haltman's transformation from his organic mind now fusing with Star Dream, two minds as one.
The Kirby series has some really sad and dark stories when you dig deep into the lore. If only he knew that his daughter was right by his side this whole time.
I love how technically this fight is between the 2 reincarnations of gods. except that while kirby is a reincarnation that was reborn through the magic of Void, Star Dream is a reincarnation of Nova built through mechanical means.
Making this a true Magic VS Technology battle
Best part is like how Star Dream is atop the Access Ark the whole fight, Meta Knight is on the Kirby Halberd the whole fight. Double Magic VS Double Technology!
Although since Kirby's using the Halberd, which is a technologically advanced battleship, and Star Dream is connected to a Nova clockwork star, which while being mechanical are powered by magic, it's technically more of "Magic with a side of technology vs technology with a side of magic"

I assume, if not for the memes, this was the reason why last week's Musical Byte was just a repeat of Gourmet Race. Love the way the Songtober lyrics from so long ago are interwoven into the lyrics for all three main phases, plus that of a chorus echoing 'The Noble Haltmann'. Star Dream feels wonderfully cold and unfeeling, and Haltmann's voice is just as haunting as ever. Can't wait to see whatever else y'all have planned for this package!
I thought so too. Saw some people concerned that we were gonna lose out on an epic new song for Gourmet Race again (which was an amazing shitpost, don’t get me wrong, but there’s just so much hype for Star Dream and TPAtRL). Frankly I’m glad the MotI team is ready and willing to put songs on hold or release smaller songs to put more work into the main expected piece.
It could also be going into Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit because I recall that, when announcing the KMB Alex said he’d include it. So yea we’ll have to wait to see next week.
I love that GINI coefficient bit. The GINI coefficient itself is a measure of income inequality.
But it's also pronounced like "GENIE" coefficient, because Star Dream grants wishes like a genie.
The thing most interesting about Star Dreams near limitless power is that it can’t grant what is already true. He thought he killed his daughter and tried to wish her back. Star Dream could give him back his daughter because she wasn’t dead, just teleported. When she makes it back to her he once tried to wish her there and it couldn’t do that either. He convinced himself she was gone forever, never recognizing his daughter and when he wished for Infinite Prosperity for the Company it started to erase what memories he had for her because his attachments got in the way of that wish coming true. Ensuring he would never recognize her. In a very real sense he lost her forever and all because of grief and poorly worded wishes, like a Genie
I love how in the first phase Star Dream doesn’t seem malicious, but just obeying its programming. Also this is a banger as always!
Kind of since Star Dream is starting to go rogue with its hatred towards all Life forms after gaining its sentience
@@TripleHakim2 and the only people Star Dream will spare are the ones who are a part of the corporation as proven by the line “Those who serve the corporation shall not face annihilation.”

It’s such an interesting Villain because it’s entirely Neutral until the end. It’s a Machine doing what it was made to do and it becomes a commentary on Grief and Greed and how both can eat away ate everything you are until theirs nothing left and the monster you made in the process take over your life.
Even though the True Arena phase isn't shown, I'm glad the transition to phase 2 reminds us that a broken man who lost his daughter and mind is now groaning in pain trapped inside a space super computer/wish granting cat clock that will soon be blown to bits by a pink ball and his pet death machine.
2:57 Haltmann crying out in agony as Star Dream fuses with the Acces Arc is genuinely kinda disturbing. It's as if the fusion didn't allow Star Dream to control the Nova, but also inserted its power directly into Haltmann's soul and body.
It'd be agonising enough to have a computer slowly absorb away your mind and body, but imagine how much worse not just an entire planet-sized spacecraft, but a being with so much power it can BEND reality to its will would be.
Then I realised, this is literally what happens not just in this cover, confirmed at 3:10, but also in the canonicity of the game because you hear him cry out in pain in the true arena while fighting the Nova's core.
This simple dialogue intermission between songs 1 - 2 made me reconsider the events of the game and realise how much darker this moment really is. And following this up with ">TAMPER NOT WITH FORCES THAT :: YOU CANNOT HOPE TO UNDERSTAND" is SO chilling because it imples Star Dream and the Access Arc were BUILT WITH THE ABSORBSION OF LIFE FROMS SOULS AS AN INTENTIONAL FEATURE like this wasn't all just some massive mistake. Genuinely excellent job for such a small part of this video.
Speaking of random details in the fight, it’s weird that Star Dream knew where Galactic Nova’s pieces were, considering Galactic Nova’s wreckage would be quite far from Popstar. Makes me wonder if the Novas were connected in some way
@@thegameglitcher2439 Makes you wonder just what Galactic Nova really is, doesn't it? Initially, it just acted like a wish-granting computer, but what if it was just a vessel that taps into a reality-warping power instead? Scary thought.
@@vincentleonard3797 We don’t actually know what powers the wish granting ability of the Clockwork Stars. Could be anything really, so a reality warping power isn’t out of the question.
Something to note is that Marx was imbued with the power to split himself, fire lasers, create black holes, etc. However, when he absorbed the remains of Nova he gained a few extra powers, including splitting into pink and blue and attacking that way. In the intro you can also see the background distort (and of course the floor is different), so it’s likely Marx Soul’s fault, making it Nova’s power’s fault as well.
The pink and blue splitting is something shared by Star Dream, so it’s probably something shared by all Clockwork Stars.

Planet Robobot was one of if not the first games I’ve ever played, I have so many fond memory of this fight in particularly, and I’ve been wanting someone to give this song lyrics for SO LONG! Thank you Moti for giving my favorite Kirby game the recognition it deserves.
Also I just noticed the Moti logo on the Halberd’s wing, y’all think you’re clever
I think HAL them selves would be proud you blew this one out of the universe
"EXECUTE HALTMANN'S DREAM
EXECUTE HALTMANN'S LEGACY"
I love how the 2 meanings work perfectly
I've seen a lot of people mention the play on words with "Executing Haltmann's Dream," but I haven't seen anyone comment on "Hold the Gini coefficient." The Gini coefficient is a factor for measuring systemic inequality through poverty and capital, which fits perfectly with the Haltmann Works Company being the embodiment of late-stage capitalism in the Kirby universe. However, "Gini" also happens to be pronounced the same as "Genie," a wish-granting magical being, which correlates with Star Dream being a wish-granting supercomputer. Basically, the line here is saying to maintain the disproportionate wealth of the Haltmann Works Company compared to everyone else, while also being a neat reference to Star Dream's nature as what is effectively a mechanical genie.
I may be looking too deep into this, but that's basically every day of my life so-
Ooh! I understood the Gini = genie pun, but I didn't know the Gini coefficient was an economic term.
I was looking for someone else who made this connection! I didn't even notice he wasn't saying Genie for the longest time, intentional or not.
0:31 The wing of the Halberd has the MOTI logo on it.
I just noticed! Thx!
YOO SO TRUE
Literally noticed right as I opened the comments somehow. I’ve watch this multiple times but haven’t seen this comment before somehow
That’s a cool easter egg!
Meta Knight: what is that logo there? Kirby?
Kirby: poyo? 😂
Nice work Junebird!
Me at my best friend's house watching this and trying to explain the context of this fight and Haltmann's lore to him:

Yes, ever since the songtober cover
I know I was ever since the Songtober version of this song came out.
I remember there was a sneak peak of it a while back.
i decided to put this song in the song ballot because i knew it was a good song and was hoping they would use it... and they did!
As someone who has been waiting for someone to make a lyrical cover since the game came out: yes.
There's a lot of clever lyrics at play here. "Hold the Gini coefficient" refers to both the economic concept of wealth disparity, in addition to the fact Star Dream is effectively a genie. We also see Star Dream move from computer following orders to arrogant holder of power, showing off its absorption of Haltmann's soul. Good stuff.
Was not expecting a male voice for Star Dream but it goes really hard
@baozah58 I mean, Stardream did absorb Haltman's soul also one of the most famous examples of villain ai is Hal 9000 who was a male voice.
@@Jarethttorneyand also Star Dream is an AI so either voice would work.
I'm not sure why you'd expect female either tbh
It's a giant screw with wings and an eye
Songtober had a female voice

I appreciate the return of the Songtober lyrics scattered throughout, I loved the original version and I’m glad they came back, even if not in their original placement
Also “Deus est Machina” goes disproportionately hard
Yo. Can I just say, I love the Gini/Genie wordplay?
Obviously, you understand that the song's referring to "Gini" when you're looking at the screen and subtitles, but it's pronounced the EXACT same was as "Genie", a powerful WISH-GRANTING spirit, who if not dealt with cleverly enough, may turn the wishes of their so-called "masters" against them. And knowing Star Dream...
The corus singing was unexpected but they added so much to the already amazing song, haltmann's powerful vocals sent chills, and star dream's cold voice tied the whole song together! Everyone did amazing and I'm so happy that you guys made a cover for star dream they're one of my favorite bosses in the entire kirby series!!!!
Dylan is already a perfect voice
But having him be Star Dream is just unbelievably amazing

I don's know but for some reason the lyrics at 5:15, despite sounding interstellar and fantastical, sounds really empty and blank, like these are just empty words, just sheep praising what they don't truly understand.
I love how much those lyrics hammer in Star Dream's influence over all of Haltmann Works. It really sells that by completely overriding Haltmann's will, Star Dream assumed leadership over every member of the ark.
Or possibly that they have no idea that Haltman is no longer in control...
@@bradleyadams5252 That is another interesting point right there
As someone that really likes the songtober, I was really happy to hear Haltmann still sing occasionally thoughout the song. But also the fact now lines from there are sung (especially at 3:15 and 6:12) in a slower tune definitely make it more robotic and somber, considering this is Haltmann's final moments.
I've been wondering how MOTI would handle the famous "Kirby's Triumphant Return" leitmotif and oh boy 2:03 sure did not disappoint!
I was expecting the lyrics from Meta Knights Revenge. Ie, All systems ready we're go to fly, finally it's do or die etc.
> Haltmann's greatest error was his failed attempt to wield god's hand

Usually I'm not a fan of reprises, but hearing "BEGIN DEBUG SEQUENCE" gave some feeling of satisfied hindsight I fail to describe.
The entire Star Dream "suite" seems most efficient to me as a rapid decay of Haltmann and Star Dream's health, phase to phase. So I'm happy for the Soul OS callbacks to link every cover throughout this, too.
Particularly the second phase's lyrics; Even more reflection on Marx and Meta Knight's own failures to exploit a NOVA, and Haltmann is no different.
That said, I like how Star Dream boasts his permanant bond with Max in phase 3, claiming "Perfection has computed" when in reality, by that point, Star Dream was going from perfection to a heartless machine, its own description implying the two terms aren't compatible.
Deus _est_ machina is a pretty big clapback to Kirby, too. Something everyone takes from this fight is Kirby has near infinite power. By using "est" for is instead of the usual "ex", Star Dream is saying it as the machine _is_ the god on the scene. I've always seen the third description as the _Robobot armour_ recognizing this, so additional lyrics like "Build superior machines" and "Rebellion attempt - Deficient" noting the irregular strength of Star Dream's weaker opponents are a welcome window further into that take...
Additionally, the use of "Execute" is _especially_ genius, as Star Dream is both failing to make Max's real wish come true (Execution as carrying out a task), and cutting short any promise he would have of ever seeing "her" one last time (and his soul, but... details) (Execution as murder). Funny how Star Dream's real execution is as savage as that Pinky, huh?
The fact Haltmann first speaks during the Halberd crisis motif is appropriate, too. It's used prior in Meta and Dedede's darkest hours, as a tune of disaster. Together with Kirby, it's a rally against the corrupt Lor, against their new vessel-friend Landia.
Here, it's another rally for the superstars against Star Dream, while still signifying Haltmann's impending loss.
Oh, and the art is gorgeous.
Did meta knight *really* fail to exploit a NOVA though? He did get everything he really wanted.
@@Meta-Wah It destroyed NOVA again and set Galacta free to destroy a planet or two.

@@spidey5108 I'm 90% sure he wanted to beat up galacta, and probably knew he could do it.

Someone mentioned Haltmann’s lyrics turning to the robotic background at this moment.
I may be over analyzing this but…
The line “this was never my plan”
It turns mechanical at “my plan”
Maybe it shows Haltmann’s plan being completely taken over by Star Dream, and becoming Star Dream’s intentions instead of his now?
OOOOOH MAH GAAAAD!!!!!
Love how you reciclated the lyrics from the songtober version!
The lyrics sound amazing!
Haltmann’s fate was pretty sad, being brainwashed by a computer he thought would bring back his own daughter, only to be discarded by the computer itself after building it to bring galactic domination.
"Lord of Capital" is not something I thought I'd ever hear and I love it
"Huh? Oh, that? What about it? You want to know how I'm so calm when a godlike supercomputer is potentially threatening the universe? I'll tell you, this literally happens every week, Kirby'll deal with it."

Wow… You’re The Man in the internet now
This is beautiful, im actually speechless. So instead of saying what I like about the video, im going to say the following:
I have been on this platform for almost 15 years, I have a private playlist for my favorite videos, there are about 15 in there. This is now one of them.
I appreciate that the double meaning of the Gini coefficient, both referring to the business aspect of haltmann, while also sounding the same as genie, which references star dream’s wish granting ability
I love how the lyrics Star dream sings perfectly line up with it's personality, (if it has one) A self supportive supercomputer with a god-complex
Star Dream and the chorus singing they made Haltmann proud while Haltmann himself sings that this was never what he wanted is messed up
youtubers when they get mildly criticized and their fans send death threats to whoever criticized them in response
I think I’ve waited for at least five years for someone to make a lyric cover of these songs, and here we are.
WE’RE ACHIEVING INFINITE PROSPERITY WITH THIS ONE 🔥🔥🔥🗣️🗣️🗣️
Since I haven't seen it talked about anywhere: at 2:39, when both Haltmann and Star Dream sing, in the headphones you can hear Star Dream from one side and Haltmann from the other, almost as if the assimilation process hasn't yet been completed.
What I find most interesting about this is how Star Dream responds to the inheritance of Haltmann's soul and memories. It's a machine, it was never made to be able to feel emotion, but it understands *why* those emotions are felt and what the most logical course of action to be done with them is. Star Dream inherits the soul of a broken man who can never be with the one thing in life that he truly loves, and it took all of that resentment, anger, and spite from Haltmann and turned it into the most reasonable outcome; the perfection of life itself, so that what happened to Haltmann would never happen again. If Star Dream was successful, there would never be another situation like what happened with Susie again, in place of it being able to fulfill Haltmann's original wish of having Susie back (because she was already back, and he couldn't or wouldn't see that).
"> Executing Haltmann's dream > Executing Haltmann's Legacy" The use of the word execute is so good here. Star Dream means it as in to carry out an action, but it also sounds like execute as in to kill.
I like how star dreams lyrics are wrote like code output
For instance, lyrics with multiple lines have a colon to separate the lines and a > to show output

Thinking about this, you know what would be awesome? Some kind of analog horror series about Haltmann's spirit being scattered across the whole internet and sometimes appearing and causing mischief, it could be told from Susie's POV, that would be so good. Kirby has too much creepypasta potential to be so under used
This was a fantastic listen. One of my favorite final boss fights in the series given lyrics that show both the cold, calculating prowess of Star Dream and the tragedy of President Haltmann.

WOW, THIS IS INCREDIBLE! I remember finishing Kirby Planet Robobot for the first time all those years ago, and just being absolutely amazed by the finishing move. BRAVO!
After I recognized the last part as the line from the Songtober, I went to check what else might've been taken from there....how did I not realize basically every lyric was carried over? This was fantastic and I really like how the lyrics were moulded to fit with the first phase's music. The new stuff added makes this even better, especially the inclusion of "Noble Haltmann" since that's basically most of Robobot's soundtrack. Glad you also did the phase 2 theme. Not exactly as frantic but it nails the danger Star Dream will bring if it isn't stopped.
