    Whenever I see pictures of Jordan now, it’s genuinely concerning seeing the look bro has in his eyes now. Yeah, he’s a millionaire NBA player - but nobody is their above mental health. I hope the people close to him are checking in on how he’s doing regularly, it makes me sad when I recognize that look of sadness I know all too well in other people.

      @@getlikecoophe probably criticizes himself way more than the internet/anyone else does. There’s a genuine difference with the look he has on his face now, compared to his time in golden state. I really hope he finds his confidence again.

      These dudes are elite at their craft and absurdly competitive. He was a pretty key part of a ring after being a late 1st rounder and in and out of the G for a while. Then clearly worked his ass off and was good enough to be looked at as a really promising young guy who got like 100M’s. There’s a line you have to toe between crazy self confidence and delusional arrogance, and it seems like he crossed that line big time. Crazy rise, being a contributor to a championship team, to being a bench player on basically the worst team in the league.
      He’s also young, clearly doesn’t have the right ppl around him. He made a comment about being benched like “if this is the best way to get me on ball asap then ok.” I’m very roughly paraphrasing from memory but it was something like that. That shows a wild lack of self awareness…there’s nobody stopping you from starting and being on ball beside…Tyus Jones on an expiring contract. Not to say he’s not good or anything, he is, but they don’t have any longterm investment in him. If he was good on ball he’d be starting lol.
      Dude just doesn’t get it yet I guess. He needs to improve a lot of things. A small guard like that isn’t gonna be a good defender, but he doesn’t even try rly. He plays like he’s a star but isn’t close. He needs to become a better passer, be more unselfish, move off ball and give more effort when he’s off ball in general. Cutting, running off screens, knowing where to be, etc. He got his bag, and a ring…it’s time to learn where you fit in on a team and realize he’s not a star. He could be a 6th man and have a long career in the league, but it seems he’s more concerned w getting his numbers. It’s obv not a fun time to be on a terrible team after being on a contender, but it’d be tough to be having a worse season.

    Watching this guy in gsw you saw his horrible shot selection and doughnut games, he can pop off but it’s not often enough to warrant a contract like he has now. As a gsw fan I’m happy he’s not on our team anymore as bad as that sounds cause he won us crucial games in 22. Id love to see him play well and prosper but man is it hard watching him play cause of all the brain dead plays he makes.

    Poole's ego may have gotten the best of him, but I take no pleasure in seeing a man broken.
    He is a talented scorer who wants/needs to have a green light - seems to me that is 6th man "microwave" territory, at least for now.
    Bring him off the bench and let him chuck it as much as he wants; maybe he will get some confidence back playing against second units.

    nah he's not really that good, its the gsw system that makes him look so good, i mean if u have steph n klay in court u wouldnt let them roam free outside of paint, so they leave pool and he has his moment. In washington, with his new famed as "the third splash brother" all eye are on him and he dont get those chances again like when he did in warriors, unfortunately instead use that as a gravity and makes other people shines (like most vets in gsw does) or at least do the off-ball movement like what steph does, he choose to keep shining even though his shoot selection is terrible. His mistakes is he miscalculate his ability when its all bout the system, and he dont event try to learn and applicate those system he's been doing in warriors, he just want the highlight on him. Its actually seen in 22-23 season when he try to do what steph does without even understanding the whole system of gsw, poole party become a fool party.

      What’s that have to do with Jordan Poole playing poorly? They are losing plenty of games, obviously they finally decided to rebuild. But it’s not like benching him is going to make them worse, it’ll probably make them better to be honest. 6th man is likely his ideal role. So I don’t get your point.

He has so much potential and I hope he can start playing like it, cause I know he can that’s what’s so confusing he can play so well but he doesn’t it’s like he’s trying to play for that highlight play but it’s the opposite with what he’s doing on the court.

    • @BOnYTB
      @BOnYTB 3 місяці тому

      Ppl had this take? That’s crazy lol. Small guards who can’t defend need to be very good to elite at multiple things, especially 3P shooting and passing. He has never been a very good passer, and he’s really never been a great 3P shooter. Even with all of the great looks he got in GS (obv he was taking some pull-ups that weren’t good shots but still) his best season was 36.4% on 7.6att.
      That’s really high volume, and if he could consistently shoot 36.4% on like 9att PER 36 that’d be great…but he’s never been able to replicate that. He has been a good finisher, solid from floater range, and got to the line a decent bit…but it is hard to evaluate such drastically different situations. Especially with all of the spacing and other playmakers he was playing with vs the opposite in WAS. Was that just the GS spacing allowing him to get to the rim a lot? Definitely a lot of it.
      Regardless I think at best he will be a good 6th man, and paying a 6th man $32M/y is far from ideal especially when your books are like GSW’s. I can understand why WAS decided to take a swing on him, though they definitely got fleeced by giving GSW such immense cap relief and not getting a real asset back. They got a guy they waived, PBJr who isn’t v valuable, and a T20 protected 1st in 2030 lol. That 1st is unlikely to convey, then they’ll just get one 2nd. It has no trade value, it’ll either be a pick in the 20s in 6 years or (more likely) a 2nd. They saved GS SOOOO much money in that trade. If they would’ve gotten like a T4 protected 2030 1st it would’ve been a lot more reasonable.
      Draymond has his issues but he’s super important to that team. Imagine keeping a 6th man making $32M/y over dray making 25? Especially when even an extra 5M or so costs GS like $30M in tax lol. Really good trade by GSW, they’re gonna be able to get under the second apron for next year and reduce their tax bill by 9 figures. And they could still trade that 2030 1st if they wanted to…protect it 20-30 and it’s still quite valuable. So if they did want to make some crazy trade this summer, they could still move 3 1sts (2030 being 20-30 protected) and swaps. Not that they’ll do that, but they didn’t give up any real draft capital in the trade.
