@@gonzalorojo6815 Poole is the same Jordan Poole, I think his ceiling might’ve been pretty overrated honestly. I think he can be a 20 PPG scorer somewhere, that’s about it. He’s struggling a bit in Washington with plenty of looks a game. The game doesn’t come as easy when you’re the main factor of the scouting report in games. Doesn’t have guys like Curry, Klay, Draymond and Wiggins taking the attention off him. CP3 has been so good our bench has a higher net rating than our starters, completely opposite when we had Poole

And because it'll be his fifth season... Devin Booker was beginning to transform from a gunner to a winning player by his fifth year, as shown by being undefeated in the bubble. I see him like Kuzma or Jordan Clarkson, a good sixth man on a contender, which isn't a bad thing as Jason Terry, Lou Williams, Jamal Crawford, and JR Smith had amazing careers in this position (being a volume scorer and nothing else isn't bad, only when you're leading a team). Kobe also became a legit superstar already in his fourth season, as did Harden... he'll likely be the Wizards' Nick Young/Monta Ellis/Brandon Jennings/Michael Beasley/Al Jefferson/Kevin Martin/OJ Mayo/Rudy Gay in that he'll be a "tank commander" to get the "real" star, like Marc Gasol, Steph Curry, DeMarcus Cousins, Kevin Love, etc. Clarkson, Russell, and Randle served this role until the Lakers got LeBron, and Russell is even back on the team, contending for a title... being the guy taking all the shots and naturally developing is probably the best thing to happen to Poole.

@@kevinestes9800 I agree 100%. People acting like Poole is gonna continue to get better and better, make a jump next year Kobe, then after that MJ or Kareem. Fact of the matter is, he IS at his ceiling. High volume scorer. He's an excellent sixth man on a contender. Give him the "keys?" Good luck picking in the lottery. He's got some physical skills, but I think what's more concerning as a fan of the game is his attitude and his cancerous effect on his teams as soon as he feels entitled. GS might as well have packed his bags, when they packed his bank account. I am a diehard GS fan, and I can say, the happiest day of of the 22/23 season was seeing Poole get dealt. Shows what the league thought of him, since all they could get in return was a 38 (future hall of famer) with fumes in the tank and a huge contract.

  • @gingerblue2265
    @gingerblue2265 6 місяців тому +4

I respectively disagree with you. Poole is not going to be an all-star caliber player, despite being quite talented. First, he's a defensive liability and Golden State were able rotate help in order to cover this shortfall. Aint happening with the Wizards. Second, pressure is a good thing. It holds him accountable to playing a certain level and standard. Without pressure, I predict we will see more turnovers and even less efficient shooting from Poole this season.

he is a solid scoring two guard that clearly needs to sharpen his playmaking ability and needs to work on the defensive side of the ball to be somewhat capable on defense.
Ppl are saying that Poole will be Harden when he came to houston and that could be true but Harden was efficient with good splits, made the all star game, and dragged the rockets to the playoffs. That was all in year one! so Poole will be solid this season but no where near harden level.

I don't disagree with the sentiment of the video, but at the end where you said that you think that the Wizards might not be terrible.....That's a hard no for me. This team had three 20 PPG scorers on it last year and couldn't make the playoffs in the east, where there were only six good teams. Poole's numbers will go up, but I can't see him putting up more than max Bradly Beal numbers and Kuzma isn't going to take a huge leap forward at this point in his career. The Wizards this year are basically the Wizards of last year minus a 20 PPG scorer in Porzingas. That's going to show in the win loss column. The Wizards biggest problem is coaching. If you have three guys that can drop 20 on you a night and can't make the playoffs in a conference that has only six good teams, that's a coaching problem. No two ways about it.

After the punch, Poole doubled down on the shot chuck, turnovers, no playmaking, and no defense. And that shit go exposed in the playoffs. He had to go.
Now on the Wizards, he’s still that guy but on a worse team. Unless he changes which I doubt cuz he has a max contract and he said his legacy is secured with that one ring. Smh, Curry deserves credit for that not Poole as the help.

As far as on court play he's going to put up empty stats he'll put up great numbers on mediocre to poor efficiency and fool people into believing he has what it takes to lead a team. 1) his shot selection and general decision making on offense makes you question whether he is a brain amputee
    2) his obvios allergy to any sort of defense...honestly he rather falls to the floor then running back helping his team play D
    3) pretty much everything related to teammates...dude is a egomaniacal cancer that thinks he is steph 2.0 but with like 0.2 of stephs abilites ad thats being generous
The way former teammates and player talk about him after leaving the warriors puts things in perspective even more...

IMO Poole is not a leader, is selfish, does not have a burning interest in learning improvements, is uninterested in defense or team play, has a mercurial temperament, has an IQ a tad lower than that of Steph, Klay, Dray & CP3, lacks humility & has a consistently overinflated sense of his gifts. Add to that a mouth with no filters and one has a truly polarizing player. No matter what Klay, Kerr, Curry or Wiggs say I truly believe this polarizing effect is what destroyed the team chemistry of the 2022-23 GSW. He is better off with the Wizards if they intend to tank.

Dude flops on defense so he don't have to defend and gets called for the fouls. He gets mad if you pull him cuz of his production. He has not matured as a leader at all. He will drop 40 and give up 60. Time after time after time. Why do you think he sits so much already this year for how much he's getting paid? Cuz his offense is not worth his defense and turnovers. He doesn't play winning basketball.

Im about 6 and a half minutes into this video and paused it to comment. 6.5 minutes into a 9 minute video about Jordan Poole and I have yet to hear a particular keyword in any of it..............*DEFENSE*. His offensive production was NEVER the problem. His turnovers and his defense were the problems. Everyone knows he can score, given the opportunities. He had a huge role in the the Warriors 22 championship run. He nearly singlehandedly put the Celtics away in the first quarter of game 6.
I and other fellow Warriors fans will forever be grateful for his contributions in 21-22. And that huge leap he made after one of the worst years ever was awesome to watch.
I'll reserve my judgment of him on the Wizards until I see his defense. Like many others, I dont expect the Wizards to win a lot. 25 wins seems VERY low. But i'd be surprised if they eclipsed 35 wins. I do think Poole is gonna be their tank commander, but I will gladly eat my words if he proves me wrong on the defensive end. I actually expect him to be hovering around 26-29ppg this season (on whatever efficiency). But his TOs per game and his defense will be the thing that I watch. If neither of those two things changes, I dont care if he averages 35 a game. He'll just prove to me that hes the exact same player getting more opportunities.

Talent and athleticism, Poole has in abundance. Potentially, he could become an all-star.
    Potentially.
He has a few negatives that might get in the way: ego, drama and poor decision-making.
At GSW, he was a turnover machine. You never knew which version of Poole you might see: a ball hog turnover king who resists direction from coaches, or an elite shooter and ball handler who can lead a team. Both versions were seen often at Golden State.
I think Poole plays for himself. Not the team. He will not sacrifice personal glory for the team. He has a thin skin - which is ironic, because he is abrasive, easily getting under the skin of his teammates.
It's impossible to predict his future. If he gains maturity, if he can sacrifice, if he can generate positive chemistry, if he can make better decisions, the sky is the limit with this guy. If not, he'll never lead a team to a winning season.
That might be an okay gamble for a rebuilding franchise. It was not a gamble Golden State could afford.

Most fans look at things from an emotional perspective with some players. Because of their popularity, so they either hate em because of their attitude and arrogance or love them for it. Analytics ruined the rawness in the game but also helped the game also with the plus minus efficiency etc. So we gain a whole new respect some players and it exposed a lot of players like poole with his poor efficiency. Its really wild GSW really gave him 150 milly. However despite all that most fans don't actually consider just how much the scouting report affects players. And JP went from like 3rd or 4th person on the report to 1st or 2nd (Him & Kuz). If he has what it takes he will adjust accordingly. If he doesn't he will continue to only be known for getting dropped by the donkey.

I wonder if getting knocked out messed him up - decision making, coordination, etc - And/or threw of his fit with the team.
I always think of how Antonio Brown was never the same after his concussion vs the Browns. Probably other examples out there.

Given the fact that he was developed to be a starter because of Klay Thompson and Steph Curry‘s various injuries for the first few years of his career
For him to make the adjustment to being a role player would it be as easy 99% of the fans think
But the Warriors shut themselves in the foot
They put their money into two people that they traded away and from what I know they have to cover part of their contract…
The warrior dynasty is wrapping up because Klay Thompson is looking for a payday because his contract is up at the end of the season
But they’ll be like the Lakers and give their injury prone superstar a big contract…

Klay got paid already when he was out on injury for two years and still collecting a salary. The Warriors don't owe him anything.

He has all the talent in the world, watched him in GSW still a fan despite the hicups. But his mindset is more or less the issue, he's won, his family is taken care of, and he has the keys to the wizards, and all the money in the world.
The question to me does he just want to play and entertain, or actually compete and leave a legacy in the sport as a GREAT. He has the same problem that alot of these young players have and that there getting all this money based on potential , and they squander that potential with distractions , and its difficult I'm sure. But he has the talent which is the crazy part he has the scoring ability to score on every level.
But does he have the IQ to play at the highest level as a 1, i'm pretty positive that how I saw him is wrong, he's not a 1 , hes probably at best a 6th man someone who gives you a scoring punch off the bench. I just dont think he has the other intangibles YET to lead.

IMO Kevin Garnett actually is dead on when he says Poole is a new James Harden. Like Harden Poole's focus is on big money, on "give me the ball and let me shoot when/where i want", & on making dazzling plays or shots that aren't necessarily team-centered. Like Harden he lacks a true sense of humility, unselfishness & winning. He might change but i have my doubts...the next 3 years will tell...
