Essence has some bad products, but a loooot of products are bomb, they are super affordable so you really can't go wrong :D I've tried a lot of their products, but my drugstore doesn't have their full range so I'm not completely sure about all products. They do have good nail polishes, lip liners, eye pencils and compact setting powders. Their lipstics vary, depending on the color and the line. Some of them are great and pigmented but some of them can look like a sheer balm. You really have to swatch them to see. Also, their singular eyeshadows are pretty good, but I tried just the shimmery ones, I can't say anything about the matt ones. I didn't know about the highlighter Katheen mentioned, but I'll try it for sure. If you have doubts, just try to find reviewers that have skin similar like yours and when you feel like you are well informed, go and buy something, but I hope I helped a little bit. Oh, and also, Essence is cruelty free, so that's a plus! :D

Before the dewy drops elf had something called a shimmering facial whip. It was basically the same thing but I think they discontinued it. When I was younger because it said facial I put it all over my face until I recently realized it was just a liquid highlight. Glowing to the gods!! Love ya Kathleen
Hey Kathleen, with the WnW eyeshadow primer, if you give it a few minutes to set, it will dry down and it won't feel tacky anymore and then you can easily blend eyeshadows over it!

you're right about the contour/highlight stick! the highlight side sets weirdly and since i only use the contour, the highlight ends up coming through because the stick is worn down. works great if you just use the brush or sponge you were going to use to blend directly on the stick, that way there's no chance of smudging everything around :D

For the NYX pallet there was a bit of a film over my shimmer shades and once it was gone they were amazing. The pigment was good and they looked pretty on the skin.

I love the coverall cream foundation too! It is the only foundation I have found so far that doesn't show the dryness around my nose, or sweat off in the Mississippi heat lol.
Hey everyone! Just a quick heads up on the Essence highlighter: it is really beautiful, I bought it after I saw Kathleen talk about it BUT in real life it is definitely darker than it seems in this video, maybe because of the lights she's using. So it is a beautiful highlighter but when you first look at it it seems way too dark to be a highlighter, but if you use just a small amount on your pale skin or if you have a little bit darker skin then it's absolutely worth it! :)

yes...essence hasn't let me down on anything...love...wet and wild always good...the NYC did change...the face powder is the same...they added a half mirror to the bronzer.

those little thin brushes from essence or any other powder is good to contour your nose because its thin. Give it a try.

Kathleen! With the eye primer, just give it a minute to dry before putting shadow on. It's not sticky unless you put the shadow on right after.

I love the coverall cream foundation too! It is the only foundation I have found so far that doesn't show the dryness around my nose, or sweat off in the Mississippi heat lol.
Hey everyone! Just a quick heads up on the Essence highlighter: it is really beautiful, I bought it after I saw Kathleen talk about it BUT in real life it is definitely darker than it seems in this video, maybe because of the lights she's using. So it is a beautiful highlighter but when you first look at it it seems way too dark to be a highlighter, but if you use just a small amount on your pale skin or if you have a little bit darker skin then it's absolutely worth it! :)

she's used it in a few videos recently. I have it and it doesn't do a great job of concealing. I've noticed she adds it with another concealer that's not quite brightening enough.
