    I don't care if you don't find anything, I watch these videos because it's like paying for a guided hike with a super knowledgeable guide for free.

    That little rocky creek would've been a good spot to detect. When going for gold nuggets it's always best to go slow and steady, make sure the coil is scraping the ground to get maximum depth. Youll find most gold where the rubbish is so it's best to persevere with it. LOL

    I remember watching the BONANZA tv series way back, and the Cartwrights were dead set against their land being wet mined for gold/silver. Having seen shots of it in the programme, I can understand why. Seems Bonanza was way ahead of its time in conservation. Great series and actors, sadly missed. ;-(xx

    That dredger is the Au Grabber, seen on Bering Sea Gold. Glad to see he's still running, he hasn't been on the show in a few seasons.

    The Gold Hunting days are all but over in that and most of Alaska, my Friend..I was upthere some 23 yrs ago and we didn't find much either...Very Baren country Now..

    The high pressure water erosion mining is called hydraulic mining I think. Done in many places in Northern California in the 1800's.

    At 8:30 seams out of an Indiana Jones movie! :) I found bigger nuggets on my grandmother sewing box! true story! :D long time ago my grandfather found a 60gram nugget in a middle of a street in Zaire, it is beautiful, a chubby (y) shaped, only one side looks a bit scraped probably from being dropped. GL! HH!

    That Dredger looks like the Christine Rose! Shawn and Steve Pomrenke's Ship! That Dredger has a net worth of a Million dollars, so I think they are doing something right....

    in cold climates the chance of finding meteorites is large so some of these hot-rocks might be meteorites!

    Fyi, they built fires on the ground, dig out what it thaws, and continue to pile it up all winter then they processed it in spring breakup

    Boreal caribou (the largest) are a subspecies of reindeer ,they are both (and a couple others) classified Rangifer Tarandus . (i just had to google and share lol)

    I knew Bob Renshaw X mayor of Nome who told me of 4-5 good lost gold stories. I worked for the city early 80's and was a cartoonist for the Nome Nugget newspaper/Bering Straights papers, Leo R. X mayor might remember me as well. I built log playgrounds/East end park for the city. Got to travel all over from Sledge Is.to Ophor to Kotz/Deering/old Mormon digs to ....bla bla bla there's gold in them there "hills".

      65 degrees on the beach is about as good as it gets..go inland a few miles and it warms up to 75..

    Not sure to told you they could drift mine in the dead of winter in Alaska because you can't even SCRAPE the ground with an excavator in the dead of winter, so I'm not sure how they are drift mining back in the old days with shovels!!

    Looks like a great detector but then so is my AT gold! We have been together and done so much that I could operate it blindfold. You have used both so you best person to offer your opinion on upgrading? What's the advantages of the new machine? I have invested in a big search coil and a small " sniper" coil,are these compatible with the new Max? Thanks for taking the time and effort to make such an entertaining and informative video.

    I grew up in California and I was an experienced gold hunter (I don't do it now because I live in Michigan) if you are ever truly serious about finding gold that is the EASIEST state to find gold/color in. If you ever are close which you were kind of when you went to AZ you should have went all the way to the gold country in California. I love your videos so much but I'm seeing you guys struggle just to find a flake or two in a pan and you are COMPLETELY missing the boat if you don't go to California.
