Awesome to see some plans for natives. I have a small prairie started about 15 years ago with a seed mix and a potted plant kit from Prairie Moon. They also sell a lot of bare root plants for some more difficult to grow varieties. BTW, not a paid endorsement, but they are a phenomenal company with a very cool back-story.
We have a healthy patch of the Artemisia ludoviciana - took a while to establish but now it's very reliable. A very attractive filler, and abundant once you get it going. Culver's Root is pretty easy to grow. Queen of the Prairie is IMHO the most beautiful native plant (possibly any plant) but is pretty hard to germinate and establish. The key on that one is consistent moisture. Where I see it thrive in prairie restorations is usually in ditches and stream banks - it needs a pretty wet soil, full sun and a lot of space, and with luck will colonize. I'd frankly hate to use it as a cut flower - it would be like putting a rainbow in a bottle :(
If you're looking to expand your native patch, would definitely recommend their seed mixes, even just as a supplement to give some competition to anything that's taking over. There are some super hardy (almost aggressive) natives that make great cut flowers - a lot of the Rudbeckias (we have a bit of a problem with R. laciniata taking over), Echinacea, spring bloomers like Golden Alexanders (Zizia aurea), then in fall you can get a lot of Asters, Goldenrod (take a look at Showy Goldenrod - Solidago speciosa), colorful grasses like River Oats. I'm an amateur at flower growing but have a lot of experience with native plants - would think they'd have a ton of potential for a smaller flower farm.

This year I've got quite a number of species stratifying from Prairie Moon. They are outside in pots in big clear plastic bags (knotted so they don't dry out) on my balcony where they don't get direct sun. I do have experience with growing plants from seeds that are so tiny they are like dust particles because this is not my first rodeo. I ordered seeds from somewhere else two years ago and was disappointed because except for the easy ones, I had no success at all. Hopefully the quality of Prairie Moon seeds is better.

Those are Jay's Peach Ghost Scorpion peppers, not just any ghost scorpion hybrid, and I think people looking for superhots will recognize the name. They're delicious, the other ghorpions we've tried were not as good. They have an almost floral bubblegum like smell even before you cut them, then it's bubblegum and pain. They are insanely hot. Like we roast maybe one per quart of salsa, and our salsa is hotter than the medium heat hot sauce we got for Christmas. These seeds will need started in the next couple of weeks, they're pretty slow to germinate.
We grew Peter peppers as a joke, but they ended up a favorite based on taste, which is apparently super common. Flavor is like a good griller pepper, but with heat. They're hot, but not crazy/stupid, about a step, maybe two, above jalapeno.

I did hot peppers last year, most of them didn’t sell. I grew them and lacto-fermented the peppers and made hot sauce. Now, people want the sauce, but it’s all mine… with a few exceptions. 😁

Queen of the Prairie probably won't flower until the third year at the earliest. It's a substantial perennial on par with Joe Pye Weed or Compass Plant. Most of the foliage is at the about knee high and the flowering stems tower above it. I'm not sure on the vase life but they should be spectacular if they work out.
Fire on the Mountain, as with Poinsettias, are both Euphorbias. I've never grown it but it's using the same strategy as a poinsettia with red tinted leaves or bracks around the flowers. They're a much shorter plant and bloom over the summer.
Cardinal Flowers are a biannual. I think they only flower on the second year so make sure to let some of them set seed. They can also cross pollinate with the other native Blue Lobelia which results in various shades of purple flowering hybrids. These purple hybrids are likely sterile as I've never heard of anyone finding a population of them existing in the wild. I believe I've seen all of these in vases at the Mt. Cuba Center in DE before so I'm sure they'll work out.
Royal Catchfly should work, an issue I see though is the back part of the flowers are sticky and I often find small insects attached to them. An added treat for the hummingbirds that normally pollinate them I'm sure.
Jewel Weed needs lots of water and it seriously shows when they don't get enough. I see them growing in the wild along creeks and in areas where it floods after lots of rain. I've never tried them as a cut flower but it sounds interesting. I believe there is another species that has yellow flowers which is grown the same way.

    Hi Nicole
Love when u show us yr seeds and how excited u get for the new ones.
Some of the ones u purchased from Southern Seed will take 2 yrs b4 they flower. Maybe u shld mention that. Also the Cardinal and the Blue Lobelia like alot of moisture. And the Blue Lobelia is quite prolific but easy 2 pull out and easy 4 spring clean up! I leave the flower stalks on most of my perennials over winter. Remove some hostas, not all and save them 2 add 2 what I gather in spring along with all my grass stalks and put them in our wood chipper. Makes great ground cover in my raised beds 4 weed growth and helps keep soil cooler and thus hardly any watering depending on how wet our summer is.! Flax grows along our main highways so lots of free seeds there. Will b interesting 2 follow how yr seedlings r coming along.
Guess no more basement set up with that beautiful high tunnel u have with it being heated!

Someone gave her White Ghost Peppers and it seems she mixed the seeds because I ended up with a plant that produced peppers that looked like nubby White Hungarian Peppers. Except when I bit off a tiny piece from the end! OMG! I've never spat out anything as fast in my life. And it burned and burned for at least half an hour afterwards. Incredibly hot.
