I apologize if this was mentioned (I kind of skimmed the video), but there's a kind of spiritual prequel on the PS1 called Remote Control Dandy. It's much the same, with you playing a human who controls a giant robot. It only came out in Japan, but there's an English patch available.
I was one those kids that back in the days only had PS2 demos with a bunch of games in, my parents thought it was the cheapest way to give me games because each disc had around 10 or so games. This one was one of them and I was really amazed by it and the amount of things you can destroy, back in the days it was quite something. A shame that a few years ago I tried to play it but my PC wasn't good enough and after it my experience with emulators wasn't good thanks to some people uploading games with viruses to the reddit /rom thread of games. After that I stopped trying to emulate games from my childhood but is a damn shame.
Joining the choir of people who inexplicably got their recommendations swarmed with Nanao clips, and now this video. Great retrospective, if it can be called one! I like dumb campy fun, and this game looks like dumb campy fun, so you've definitely sold me. How long is the game though? Does it play alright on an emulator?
The game should be around 15 hours, and it works alright on an emulator. There's some slowdown and you'll have to play around with the settings to get the sound working right.
Came here from watching funny as fuck Nanao clips with no context of what this game is
Same here!! :D

I still remember the mission where you have to save the one girl's grandmother. I don't know if I ever completed that one successfully.
Gonna make some bread and water soup to chill with this one.

No, I didn't know about that game, so thanks for the recommendation! I'll be sure to check it out.
@@colbyschexnayder I didn't know it until about a year ago. I think I watched a video on games with fan translations and it was mentioned there.
This is great information to have!
Somebody give Nanao a bowl of bread soup
It's a proper meal
