The Renault engines were actually the weakest on the grid during the Vettel dominance years. That Red Bull was just a masterpiece on the corners

Your car would idle at 5k rpm and have some of the worst NA turbo lag ever until you reach around 12k rpm then it starts to unleash all 200lbft of torque.
THIS...this is the sound I grew up with, the sound that made me fall in love with F1, the sound I craved hearing every weekend, THIS IS THE SOUND OF F1...I stopped watching when the V6 entered, a part of the sport was gone, I would say it's soul, I liked the loud V12 it was great, I liked the sound of V8 it was good especially in downshifting but this right here is the pure screaming of an F1 engine V10 ALWAYS AND FOREVER!!!

@@neodomdom7210 I wouldn't say no if my 200 PS (bhp) Audi A3 would sound as current F1. But your right, It is absolutely not worth to be called F1-sound.
Unfortunately, car manufacturers like Ferrari, Renault, Mercedes and Honda from 2014 till 2021 want to leave less of a carbon footprint hence the turbo-hybrid era. Biofuels are next in F1. It's all about being green from a global perspective.

My dad every now and then tells me that when the F1 teams tested here in Portugal after the Portuguese GP was thrown off in the mid 90's, Ferrari came to Estoril one year(idk which year it was) to do some laps in the circuit to test the car, the V10 engine could be heard in Guincho, which is a little bit far from Estoril, I wasn't born at the time but just to imagine the sound and the impact that would make in me if I was there...
