This music has so much movement, texture, and layering - every player masterfully owning their parts. They’re not merely playing the song, but feeling it, translating it into heart-felt expression - the vision is in full fruition!! 🫶🤗💕

When i hear this, i picture a lone adventurer rushing through a dense forest, leaping over thick brambles and roots to an unknown destination with great urgency. The sun fades swiftly, and the formerly bright atmosphere melds to a hazy blue dusk. He must make it to his destination before the evening envelopes his land, though i'm not sure why.
This is the image, story, and feeling I get when i hear this song, and it makes me want to know the story of this person, What is the reason for such urgency so deep into the forest?
I love how emotional your music is, i'll always be a strong supporter of your work!

Excellent performance and a wonderful, non-standard chamber ensemble that's very effective. Bravo.

It's funny. The title is Woodland Dance, but I always picture something like a background music for the drifting sands of a desert with people traveling by horseback or something like that when I listen to it.

And isn't that the beauty of music? It can transport you wherever your soul and imagination takes you ! ;-)

It reminds me of like a magical misty Viking forest or something
      I love it!

I think the desert vibe comes from the legatos on the cello.
But still every person imagines different things and that's why instrumental music is so cool

I lived in asheville, but I too got a desert image, primarily b/c the dulcimer had the santoor playing style going on, essentially same instrument. Plus the percussion.

I am a new student of the hammered dulcimer, and your cutting edge, masterful style of playing it inspires me. I asked a music teacher friend of mine how I can learn to play like Joshua, and his answer was..."How do I get to Carnegie Hall". Thank you.
