    Note that in winters dough rises much slowly as optimal temperature is 33 degrees Celsius for this process, but it can be hard to achieve. An electronic thermometer is used to measure temperature while dough rises.Till then avoid baking bread related dishes if you are a first timer.

      Preheat for 10 minutes at "Preheat" then select either "Bake" or "Pizza" mode for heating curry or anything. Usually 15 minutes are enough to heat fridge cold food, room temperature food can be reheated for 5-10 minutes.

      Important question! I used this one: amzn.to/3LYyMVm
      It is pretty good and if given ample time and proper temperature to rise, dough turns out good enough.
      Better yeasts are available too, don't blindly buy this one, because reviews are pretty negative for this now!

    Nice demo bro.in Indian market many brands are available like Bajaj borosil Agaro .why you go with this.?pls reply. Bajaj also with display.

    • @M-DIY
      @M-DIY  2 роки тому

      I have had good experience with Philips toaster and sandwich maker in the past and have seen that Philips is best in electric ovens and these kinds of things. Borosil is excellent in cookware but not in ovens, whereas with Bajaj I have had bad experience with some of their electrical appliances due to bad build quality, but some of their appliances are amazing (I own and love Bajaj geyser) so for Bajaj it depends from product to product. Some ovens have issue with their glass door shattering due to poor quality glass being used or maybe their design is not good enough (I won't name those brands you can check Amazon reviews for it). Also no other oven bakes Pizzas more evenly than this Philips OTG, you can check Amazon reviews for this too. That's why I bought this oven, even though it costs a lot more than other brands and costs like double as compared to a microwave, which is not useful for baking much.

    Hi, thanks for sharing your review its very useful. I recently bought this product. When i did preheat the oven was really very hot at outside. Is this nature by product or a defect product? Please reply.

    • @M-DIY
      @M-DIY  2 роки тому +1

      It is normal. Ovens get hot from outside too because they use heating coils as opposed to microwaves because they use 2.4 GHz frequency which radiates food particles and that radiation is mostly contained within the oven.

    Thanks, very nice video. I have decided on Philips, but is it better to buy 25 litre or 36 litre oven? Does a larger oven cook more uniformly from inside?

    • @M-DIY
      @M-DIY  2 роки тому +1

      Both 25 & 35 liter ovens have same performance, but 25 liter version has a fan which is helpful for evenly baking some recipes in larger sized ovens. Smaller ovens don't need fans because they heat up evenly anyway. Practically, using fans in oven is very tough, unless you are an experienced baker. 25 liter oven takes 1500 watts at most and 35 liter one takes 2000 watts, for small families smaller oven will be better to save some electricity.

    • @M-DIY
      @M-DIY  2 роки тому +1

      Your question tells you didn't watch the full video eh? Well it has 16A socket and converters won't work for heavy loads like these. You will need to get a 16A socket with proper wiring installed by an electrician. Even I had to install a 16A socket specially for this OTG.

    • @mukulahuja8757
      @mukulahuja8757 2 роки тому

      @@M-DIY No bro, I did check that, but couldn't make out if it is a normal or a larger plug. Though I did not focus on the 16A that you mentioned, against 6A that we usually have. But thanks for reconfirming as we had to already scrap an older OTG due to shorting problems. Will check with an electrician first now. Thanks.

      Convection oven mein keval ek fan laga hota hai jo air ko circulate karta rehta hai cooking ke dauran. Zyaadatar recipes mein fan ki zaroorat nahi padti aur sirf bade size ke ovens mein vo hota hai. Chhote size ke ovens mein fan ki zaroorat nahi hoti. Agar aapko family badi hai toh is oven ka 36 liter waala model lelo, usmein convection mode hai, nahi toh 25 liter waala lelo. Saare links video ke description mein diye hai.

    • @M-DIY
      @M-DIY  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks! You are correct this model does not have convection fan. Well till date I don't feel the need for it as OTG's don't require it much (at least small capacity models don't) but it is must for microwaves (which don't heat food evenly due to limitation of their design) to evenly heat entire cabinet and cook food properly. In my opinion both 25 liter & 36 liter OTG models should have same cooking performance, but since I have not used the larger version, I can't say with absolute certainty.

    Bro I know this is OTG, but can you confirm if we can use this as convection oven? To heat food, to defrost meat/chicken etc?

    Thank you, liked and subscribed already.

    • @M-DIY
      @M-DIY  2 роки тому +11

      I have used this OTG for reheating foods too! I preheated this oven for 10 minutes then put in chicken salami or kebab pieces on wire grille for 5-10 minutes, depending on the size meat is defrosted pretty evenly, though not as quick as a microwave. You may have to modifiy temperature and timings to defrost large pieces as center may not get hot enough because OTG starts heating from the outside while microwave heats from the inside due to 2.4 Ghz radiation which vibrates water molecules and heats them up. However OTG can be used to reheat dishes too so I don't feel the need for microwave. I regularly heat halwa, pasta, rice in OTG but yes OTG takes more time and electricity for reheating foods, about which I don't care much.
      In my opinion, if you want to bake more rather than reheat dishes, get an OTG, if you need to reheat foods more often, get a microwave. Thanks for liking and subscribing!!!

      Nah, it is needed for larger capacity ovens to distribute heat properly, while smaller capacity ovens don't need it much. Properly using convection fan is also a bit complicated as some recipes specifically ask to keep convection fan off, while others don't. I can't say how well convection feature works in OTGs because I don't have the larger capacity oven, though till now for most of the recipes I have made, I didn't feel the need for it.

      Preheat for 10 minutes, then heat food for 10-15 minutes depending on the temperature of food (more for fridge cold while less for room temperature food). Keep in mind you'll need to keep checking food while heating. If someone needs to reheat food more often as compared to baking food, I'd suggest to get a microwave oven which reheats food in seconds while consuming minimal electricity as compared to OTG, but radiation can be a health factor.

      Air fryer is like a small convection oven, which makes it better for cooking less food as it takes less energy, increasing efficiency. It is marketed as healthy alternative to ovens, but I wonder about the taste of the recipes it cooks. Poorly designed air fryers will not work well, can't say about good quality ones as I havent used them. I'll research more on this later on.
      OTG is the most successful product as compared to microwave ovens which are pretty bad at baking because middle always remains soggy in them. Even commercial fast food outlets use OTG so you know it works!
