    For beginners I must say, keep in mind that the body connects to each part and its not just different pieces together
    Like how the collarbone leads into the shoulders or likewise, how the neck slowly flows onto the shoulders (on slim people at least)
    And another small tip, not a single thing is symmetric in our body, so don't torture yourself with perfection

      This was a mistake Ive made a lot especially concerning the torso and the arm
      It's important to understand the necessary muscle groups, for example in my case when I was still a beginner I never learned about the pectoralis major, deltoid and serratus muscles so I REALLLY struggled with understanding how arms connect to the main body, and it made my art look not only flat but anatomically incorrect

    • @inexistence631
      @inexistence631 Рік тому +240

      @@pennyomega7421 Well in my opinion, this artist didn't do a good job in exaggeration and stylization. No matter what proportions a character has, there's always a balance in the shape of the body. In this case, the neck is WAY TOO SHORT and the shoulders too narrow, and then the body is long like normal. The length of the neck could have looked normal had the other parts of the body also been shortened.

    This is not for beginners, or for any artist. Real advice: skech out the head with a circle, the chest with a rectangle, and the hands with another rectangle. DO NOT use the line and circle method to map out the arms unless the hands are raised. The circle and line method only maps out the positioning, not the width of the arm, it can make your drawing stiff and lifeless. There's less things you can do when the arms are raised, and the shoulders raise with the arms, so its better to use this method sparingly. The arms are always a pain, but think of them as a triangle, (you can also wrap your fingers around your wrist and go up.) They're fat at the shoulders and skinnier at the wrist. Use similar sized ovals, and don't bent them perfectly in the middle. Elbows don't bend perfectly in the middle. I'm going to edit this later because I need get ready for something.

    Just look at people and study how their bodies move and bend. Draw naked bodies. Look up reference pics. Pose yourself for pictures if needed. Watch videos. Pause action scenes. Study other artists works. Use references. Etc. That's what helped me with anatomy rhe most.

  • @crabmaster6932
    @crabmaster6932 Рік тому +5

    As an artist this could be better in a anatomy sense, plus the pose itself is very tense seeming. I'd recommend trying to do more fluid poses and show a full drawing of the body because just the base sketch can really confuse people ( such as me, I could ever do these cause I didn't know what the body would look like ) but this is all lighthearted!!!

  • @kqrmen1
    @kqrmen1 Рік тому +23

    hey!! this is looking super good :D a few tips tho:
    your sketch here is super stiff, try not being so precious with your lines! instead of doing a bunch of little ones to create the exact line you have in mind, do a bunch of long strokes to get an idea of the shape and then go back in with a second sketch on top to refine that shape :)
    2nd, id recommend having a little less curve in the spine structure. that shape would be good for a side profile, but from a 3/4 view like you have here the spine doesn't curve as much as your sketches here does unless theres something wrong with the spine, like scoliosis
    finally, for a more relaxed look/when youre drawing the arms down, move the shoulders down too! your whole shoulder structure is sort of like a triangle shape from the neck to the shoulders, so for a relaxed look the shoulders and neck should form a sort of pyramid shape between them
    your art is really good though!! keep at it, id recommend drawing from pictures of real people to help you understand the muscle structure and all that, or a live person if you can!! sending you good luck on your art journey ❤

    Reminder that everyone learns anatomy in a different way, and when you first start out it will most likely not look like this, I have been practicing anatomy for a solid year or two and still struggle. It is also not necessary to have this many shapes and lines for a body, and you should experiment to find what is easiest for you. Also remember to try different body types and poses, not everyone will look the same and different poses are also good for practicing perspective. Good luck and have fun!
