  • This beautiful hat, along with the Symphony scarf pattern is so warm and cozy, a great work up for charity donations, holiday gifts, and more. It is so simple, a 1 row pattern and it just works up so quickly!
    NOTE: This video tutorial caters, like many of my patterns, to beginners, offering a slow step by step work up, if you are a seasoned crocheter, you may want to skip ahead in the video to avoid some of the chat and samples.
    Written pattern will be available shortly.
    **********************
    The hat workup in the video uses a bulky 5 weight yarn and a J hook (6 mm}
    Repeat row:
    Work cluster over 3 stitches.
    *Insert hook into 1st st, draw through loop, insert hook directly into next st, draw through another loop, insert hook directly into 3rd st, draw through loop. Yarn over, draw through all 4 loops on hook, chain 1. Insert hook into front 2 loops of that cluster just made, yarn over pull through, yarn over pull through 2.
    1st cluster made. Repeat to end of row.

    Sorry for the late add on this pattern friends!! My boiler broke down yesterday morning and ended up taking all of my planned projects off the shelf. It's freezing here in Michigan and it was a mad rush making sure pipes were safe... sigh.

      Omg! I have used the silicone glove years ago! I completely forgot about that one.. thank you!..and thank you for being so sweet Dorothy 🥰
      Well, skateboarding days are officially over for my son.. he broke his hip going into the bowl at the skatepark this past summer. It always scared me watching him on it though, so now I breathe a little better 😄 Happy holiday to you and yours! 🥰

    Thanks for this pattern! I am still working on the scarf but will definitely be making a matching hat! 🥰When you join your rounds, why do you go only into the back stitch? (I have always gone through both)

      Me too Cheryl! I was actually playing with it when I made it and I found that going into the back loop only through that part actually made for a straighter seam =) When I actually start the Symphony pattern further in the video, you will see I start going into both loops. It worked out great!

    Hi Colleen, I'm using a 4 g of yarn, but I have gone halfway, and it seems to be small for me. I took it apart except for the crown. How can I make it bigger around. Oh when I measured my crown, it measured 7" not 7.5 . Help what to do.

      Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry I'm just seeing this Robert! If I need to add just a bit to my crown, I'll add a round of hdc or I'll opt for the next hook size. Really depends too of course on the tension.
