I know you love you separate systems, but I would love to see a house rewire with all the batteries and wiring on one 48v system. I would believe your efficiency would quadruple. Never the less, love the setup.
That's wild I just experienced the same thing in Texas here. We got rain and gray skies for basically 3 days straight. It was brutal. Had to bust out the generator and that's with 5kw of panels. I got a couple large batteries I haven't added to the fold yet.
Saturday was a it if a scare for me. We had a friend coming help with some framing but called him off in the morning due to rain forecast. @10:00 am my 2000w array was putting out 175 watts. I left my generators at home so it was a watch and see day. By 2:00 pm the sun was back and I was fully charged by 5:00 pm. I too have a set of batteries (5kwh) fully charged and ready to go just in case.
I have a 47-year-old Dodge Mallard class C we affectionately named Lucy😅 my mantra is functioned before fashion and I have a backup for my backup for my backup.😂 Seriously five complete systems on board yes and it is only 23 ft long😅 sometimes I use a Smart lithium charger to charge up other systems on board that run down a little off of the main system I too have had 2 days of rain and I have to just conserve power usage energy. Yes Lucy turns a lot of heads as we pass and drive away and then I look in the mirror and see them bow their heads to pray.😅
Nice! I have several backups to shift the demand around a bit as well. I am so glad I built it this way. For days like these have been! All systems working well! Aloha!🤙
Ernest, that's an excellent point. Starting-up that generator every now and again to make sure it works is a good idea. Although, draining the gas before storage wouldn't be any fun...
I love your channel, and I have learnt so much over the time I have been watching. It is worrying that someone as knowledgeable as you, with quite a bit of financial investment, and, in comparison to most, has a fairly large system, can deplete your reserves in 24hrs 😮. Good luck and thank you for sharing 👍
I was hitting the systems pretty hard with company and showing off what I could run. Hadn't been getting fully charged for days. But it's all looking pretty good now! Aloha!🤙
Thought I was watching a Michigan solar forecast for a minute there Bob. On generators, IF they are inverter generators, if their on board battery goes dead, so does the ability to start the generator (at least champion models). Ironically, they now make 7 and 9Ah LiFePO4 batteries for the generator battery.....stay charged. Gary in SE MI
Aloha Gary! Sun blazing pretty good this morning just in time! All systems getting back up to snuff today I believe! Just a little jockeying around the systems, and still doing good. 🤙
That great !!! best to have multi systems. just chase power around . swap battery keep going ! The worst thing is relay on 1 system. The pigs were nice. just keep a watch on them. They can get into stuff and make a mess ! got some great pics and video of the pigs. Nice to have plenty of extra ! All that cooking from solar ! Even with all them panels if you had lead battery .they would never keep up ! The efficiency of LiFePO4 is a real game changer . So many great reasons to use them. !
Thanks for the update, brother. I love your channel. Let's me know what's happening when I am not there. I sure wish you would stop chasing the pigs my way! LOL 🤙
@@ProjectsinParadise808 62 degrees and in a T-shirt winterizing the barn and shed. Snowmobile is serviced and ready for deer season. Dark at 5pm but still enjoying 4 good hours of charging.
I don't usually let my batteries get that low when the Sun refuses to shine for a day or so, I use Grid power. I hate doing that but sometimes I have to. How many Watts does it take to run your air Fryer?
Try my shoes, I live in my RV during the winter months. I work out of state during the summer. All my shit got stolen this last summer and I'm trying to survive with 2 100w panels and a 35AH deep cycle battery. To add insult to injury, the best I can hope for is 3 hours of charge provided the sun comes out that day. It hasn't for 4 days. Lucky I still had a generator that got missed while I try to replace my losses. It's gonna be a while I had some expensive shit.
and now you have a reason to increase your battery banks.....you could add a battery to each system you had to swap out now that you have seen a real world bottom.
Was it the Disco Lighting and Karaoke last night that did you in or did the cats and chickens have a Spa night again??? The sun will come out tomorrow bet your bottom dollar come what may….Have fun stay safe.
God aposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. Blessed Sonshine. I must admit I do have the option where I am right now to plug into shore power and gloomy days just to keep the batteries up and I have done that a little but if I were out on the road it would be a different story I would have to just conserve energy and give God the glory.
You have way too many separate systems in my opinion.. The inefficiency that all that brings with it is actually hurting you in useable power.. The cost of all those small inverters, batteries and charge controllers add up to more than a well planned system..
Back-up of a back-up of the back-up . We can never be too careful.
All the backups are coming into play last few days!🤙
i wanted to say im sorry for any rude comment i ever made your a great person and i hope nothing but the best for you
Good update. Yeah the two tough months are coming. Always good to have those backups. Aloha
Slowly getting back to snuff🤙
Hello Bob, glad everything is looking better today.
Today should get everything back up pretty good John...Aloha!🤙
I know you love you separate systems, but I would love to see a house rewire with all the batteries and wiring on one 48v system. I would believe your efficiency would quadruple. Never the less, love the setup.
That may happen down the road a ways. I do love having several independent systems as you know, but yeah one day maybe...Aloha!🤙

I came sooo close to firing up the genny, but never quite had to. Today looking good to get everything back up to near 50% anyway. Aloha!🤙
Hope you get your power back up. I have just built a battery bank i am new to solar systems and still have a lot to learn.
Everything getting charged back up! 🤙

Well, it can't be all sunshine and loipops. ✌️. (You may want to test the generator every so often to make sure there are no problems)
Ernest, that's an excellent point. Starting-up that generator every now and again to make sure it works is a good idea. Although, draining the gas before storage wouldn't be any fun...
I did give it a little spin just to know it would be ready if needed! Aloha!🤙

hey bob the same in FL ,HAD PUT THE CHARGER FOR A HR JUST ON ONE SYSTEM THE OTHER THREE DOING FINE
Good to have all that on standby yeah?!?🤙
Hoping your batteries get filled back up quickly. Nice set up in any case!
Charging back up pretty good today! Mahalo!🤙

Catching pretty good sun today, just in the nick of time! Love the backups! Should catch up pretty good today. Aloha!🤙
Sounds like a party, complete with an after-party (system) hangover!
It was an exciting evening! The party only got briefly interrupted! 🤣🤙
sweep the panels clean, every little helps
For sure!🤙

I finally did scare them off! They came back one more time, and they were frisky! Aloha brother!🤙
Sun is low in the sky in New England and the leaves are off the trees. Getting 4 hours of good sunlight and very frugal in the use of power.
Whats your latitude there?
Catching good sun today. Best in many days so should be fine by afternoon. Aloha!🤙

I finally got mine drained all the way down your supposed to drain them at least once i believe
Yeah I was fine taking them all down for a good cycle...it had been quite awhile! 🤙
Glad to see the sun is back!!!
Me too!🤙
So more Panels and Bigger Battery Banks for a couple days of Poor Solar Production would be wise to add in
Copy that!🤙
A real world test.

Try wind turbine for continuous charging of the batteries in my home area sometimes wind is 24/7
dirt will reduce the panels performance, how much more do you think all the debris and plants on your panels will effect the them?
Great video

Good Afternoon ! Have the PIGS come back to visit you & your father ? TAKE CARE..
They came back one time that evening, then I scared them off pretty good and haven't seen them since! Aloha!🤙
On 3rd day here and used some last night so idn yet.
I'm catch good sun right now!🤙
Check that your generator will still run if you absolutely do eventually need to light it off...? 🐗🍍
Have it all ready if need be. So far, still haven't needed it! Aloha!🤙
and now you have a reason to increase your battery banks.....you could add a battery to each system you had to swap out now that you have seen a real world bottom.
Yes sir, that was the lowest I dragged everything down. Use a fair bit more with company around. But, it all held up...barely! 🤙

That’s the reason I have 32,000 W of solar and 180 kWh of LFP on my house.
Nice!🤙

People are so slow. Use the rain water run off to power a turbine generator at the spout... At least ou make use of the rain water.
