Just Purchased my Tiara 31 Open Express from BlueWater Yacht sales expecting delivery on Wednesday Mar. 5th, Very excited. Not my 1st Boat, but alot bigger. Im really enjoying your adventure, I'm seriously thinking of doing the same trip next year. Thanks Guy's.
I thought the same thing. Was surprised at the amount of hand steering needed. Great videos guys...subscribed and addicted! I enjoy the fact that you,re just regular people..."Joe & Mary six pack", not yacht snobs, who have made smart decisions in your lives and are living the dream! BTW ignore the negative comments out there, respond once and move on-which you do. There is at least one in every crowd.
Very nice, I have thought many of times that I would love to do something like what you folks do, or on a sailboat. As I watch your videos I do see the possibility that it could be something we could accomplish. Of coarse convincing my better 1/2 who gets sea sick at the drop of a pin, well thats a different story. When I bring up the subject with her after 47 years of marriage. She say "maybe that something left for you to do with you next wife". I always respond well "she might do it, but she won't be as good looking or nears as cooperative as you are my dear, I could never get that lucky twice" 😁.
If that spiel doesn't work I don't know what will! :) Sea sickness has never been an issue for us. We have had a guest or two get a little sick but it goes away after a day.
My husband told me about your channel, and I'm really enjoying it! I know this is over a year ago, but just wanted to say that we live in the Norfolk area and I loved your perspective from your flybridge (ours is from a Chaparral). We've spent many hours on these waters (including waiting for the railroad bridge to open at the Gilmerton Bridge), and at Waterside Marina and Hampton Public Piers!
We enjoy the Norfolk area. Unfortunately, we did not have time to stop this year. One of these days we are going to stop at the public docks by the Great Bridge and explore that area as well.
@@tryingnottosink9107 The next time you come through, be sure to stop at Top Rack Marina (where we keep our boat), just north of the Great Bridge locks. Not much to the marina except a free night if you eat in their awesome restaurant, Amber Lantern!
I do not understand why you stay on small waterways when with that big beautiful motor yacht you could go out to sea and avoid the potential of hitting a log or some other submerged object. Thanks for any input.
We have an autopilot and I use it all the time. Lyn likes to video tape when we are entering and exiting inlets. I may have been fighting a beam or following current. Not my greatest skillset, but I am working on it.
I also think you may be over correcting thus setting up a 'weaving' motion which is hard to overcome. Every boat is different but it's better to let the boat find it's own way with minimal steering input. When adjusting steering angle for a following sea to prevent broaching, for example, the steering input must almost immediately be returned to neutral BEFORE the boat swings, not after. Once the boat swings too much then you tend to over correct the opposite way and thus set up the inefficient and annoying 'weaving'. This is a common error and is linked to automobile driving practice, where the steering response is immediate. In a boat, it's a much more fluid scenario. Sorry not a criticism just a comment from 60 year exp skipper of all kinds of boats from 150' pleasure steamers to 42' Coastguard launches. Lovely boat, great videos, thank you.

Thanks for watching. You will be able to do the trip a lot faster than us in the Tiara!

Thanks. We are glad you like the videos! We just started ignoring the trolls. Comments are 97% positive so we keep posting.

I remember passing that Marina. A no wake zone after the bridge if I remember right.
Cool video!! Great job behind the wheel!
Thanks. I am glad you liked the video.
How much time would you say you waited on bridges during this trip?
Who is doing the cover of Budapest on your opening song?
I do not know. It was recorded live at a bar. Someone told me their name a year ago, in one of these posts, but I forget.
You remind me of Stephen King!!
Looks as if you are getting a work out with that steering
beam and following seas, plus inexperience, equals a good work out :-)
Have you guys officially started your loop?
No. We cannot do the loop. Our boat is too tall.
Trying Not To Sink ah, right. Well, time to do the big "U" then. Stop and see us in Portland, OR when you get up/over here.
What's the names of your intro and ending songs?
The intro song back then was "Budapest" by Ezra. I do not know what the ending song is called.
Do you not have auto pilot?
Yes, and we use it often.

Marcus Russell not visiting all those small towns and seeing our beautiful Country when you’re out at sea. That’s my guess.
looks like you need an autopilot due to the amount of wheel work your doing

Very well said. I was going to say something similar.
I just noticed your reply. Sometimes they get lost on the older videos. Thanks for the advice. I will definitely keep that in mind next time.
why are you sawing so much on the wheel?
I do not remember. It is usually when I have abeam sea or a following/beam.
