"she is the literal personification of a mental illness" anxiety by itself is an emotion, not a disorder. that's why it was personified in the movie alongside the other emotions instead of just being some ethereal concept like the belief system. it becomes an *_anxiety disorder_* when being anxious rules your life long-term to the point where you can't function properly. bearing in mind Anxiety (the character) was at the wheel for like three days after a significant life event (graduating, new school). i wouldnt call that disorderly despite the things Anxiety did. and you dont need to have an anxiety disorder to have a panic attack.
I had a panic attack once in college and can confirm it is indeed nightmare fuel. It came out of nowhere and felt like I was choking since i couldn't breathe. I don't remember what all happened but my friend who was with me told me that I was crying a lot, shaking and telling her to not let me die. It was super embarrassing and really horrifying too.
Panic attacks are really bad I've had plenty in my life time and everytime I became numb couldn't breathe I always shook I was almost always dizzy and sometimes felt sick. It isn't a nice feeling
"She is literally the personification of a mental illness" is a sentence that does more harm than helps. Anxiety is not a mental illness, its a part of everyone's lives. Some people have a harder time keeping it in check, or have it much more intensely than others.
A normal amount of anxiety is not a mental illness, an excessive amount can be. For example, every mental illness is an excessive amount of a trait everyone has: schizophrenia is excessive imagination to the point where the person can't tell the difference.
Well... Everyone has a normal amount of blood sugar but when iy gets overboard you get Diabetes. An illness! So put down your red flags, and offended selves and realize that he was right! An excessive amount of anxiety is in fact a mental disorder.
My thought exactly. Anxiety, if managed well, can be helpful in certain scenarios. Plus, not everyone who struggles with anxiety has an anxiety disorder. It's more common than I thought!
Yeah, in fact Inside Out 2 goes well out of it's way to make the point that Anxiety is there to help us. It can just hurt us if it takes over too much. But that was the same with Joy in the first one. Anxiety only fills the same role of Joy from the first movie. Both have Riley's best interests at heart but neither cannot be the only thing we feel all the time or it suppresses other emotions that we need to feel and they become toxic to us and we start to unravel. This was visually represented in the first film as depression and visually represented in this one with more complex themes such as developing a negative sense of self and anxiety attacks. But anxiety isn't a mental illness, it's something very normal that we all feel, it's just about keeping it in check and allowing it to help in small ways while maintaining a grounded view of reality and a realistic sense of self where you accept all aspects of yourself, even the bad or imperfect stuff. Beacuse nobody's perfect. It's an unachievable standard, and that's the standard anxiety pushes you to achieve when left unchecked. The film shows the audience by the end that Riley has accepted who she is and she loves and accepts herself for all her quirks and that's the lesson to take away. Not that anxiety is the personification of a mental illness.
The last ones sacrifice hit hard. He deserved that number one spot. He would rather be erased and non-existent than Riley be sad. I give him my respect. 👏👏👏

That last line from Bing Bong is the reason I want Inside Out to have part 3. This one focusing on Riley’s adulthood. I love both Inside Out movies! They're both equally great and equally emotional! The first movie made me cry a few times, when Joy breaks down crying when it seems all hope is lost, when Bing Bong fades away after sacrificing himself, and when Riley cries in front of her parents and tells them she misses Minnesota, and in the case of the sequel, I cried when Joy talked sense into Anxiety and Anxiety saw the light about not changing who Riley is, when all the emotions embraced together around Riley's newly formed sense of self, when Riley apologizes and reconciles with her friends, and when Joy takes control to make Riley happy afterwards. Thinking about what the two movies show us, I'm crying candy too! It's M&M's; they're delicious.

Say what you will, but I do applaud Envy for realizing that Anxiety has put too much pressure on her showing Envy does care about Riley's well being to an extent.
I figured that anxiety would be at the bottom and it is nice that this movie even though in some ways she is the villain and antagonist of the movie she isn't inherently evil, she is trying to help riley anderson with her future but she just happens to be doing it in all the wrong ways. you can be the antagonist and villain without being evil, it just means you do damage but like in this movie it's nice to see that there can be some movies that can have a person be an antagonist or villain without being evil, they genuinely believe they are doing the right thing. And it's nice that anxiety got a path towards redemption arc at the end.
Honestly it’s a lot more nuanced that Anxiety is just an obstacle style antagonist and not actually evil. Since I feel she’s more the personification of worry, the over thinking aspects. She’s helpful in small dosages when reminding of things to think about, keeping it at the forefront, but she’s high strung and is kinda like movie 1 Joy in that she’s a bit of a control freak
2:44 "No offense" says calling normal Anxiety a illness (Generalized Anxiety, Social Anxiety etc. are mental illnesses but normal Anxiety is a emotion everyone has)
While anxiety the emotion is obviously bad I feel like Anxiety the character is way up there on the good aligned scale. Her intentions were good and she genuinely seemed concerned for others. It's just her methods were flawed. If you can blame her for anything it was her single mindedness to try to fix all Riley's problems current and imagined. As they say the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
When you enter adulthood, you realize that there's another major reason for why Bing Bong deserves the gold medal of kindness and friendship. Riley was a pre-teen girl during the first movie. When a pre-teen girl runs away, there are very bad people out there who just wait for young girls to do something stupid. Bing Bong basically helped saving Riley from entering the dark world of prostitution. At the very least, if there wasn't Bing Bong, it would've been harder for Riley to be mentally stable enough to develop new emotions in part 2.
Envy is a good charecter, shes just helping Riley chase oppurtunities to make her life better! Shes making Riley have social status so she is always remembered and fun! Its just that Anxiety is acting like that so Envy followed Anxiety. Envy never even talked about bottleing the other emotions. She doesn't want to get between them so she just does her job.
I kinda noticed something when it comes to anxiety and, not just Riley but literally everyone, or mainly her dad, it looks like whatever the lead emotion we see at the lead of the console has to keep anxiety calm, and Riley’s dad seems to do that, really well only popping up as one of those small thoughts you get in your head that you shrug off, which is shown in Riley’s dads mind, so in other cases the lead emotion should calm anxiety, example would be Riley’s mom would be sadness as the lead emotion to calm anxiety whenever she shows up
I saw Bloofy (and especially Pouchy) as more of a parody of Dora the Explorer than anything else. The "oh, Pouchy" part is obviously a parody of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.
Anxiety is the perfect antagonist in Inside Out 2. He much similar to what Joy is in the first movie- An embodiment of toxic emotions that thinks what is best for Riley. Lucky he did learned that valuable lesson by the end of the film.

Today is Tuesday 18th, Friday 21st I'm seeing Inside out 2, Anxiety I assumed would be some form of Antagonist, she is technically based of a Mental Illness though anyone can be Anxious... I've experienced *_ALOT_* of bad Anxiety, likey due to: Gaslighting, Blackmail, Transphobia, Neglect, Isolation, Love bombing, Aggressive Jokes, Shaming, Ghosting, Changing topics. Anxiety of not being good enough, thinking everyone hates me or is out to get me, yeah with all this... Anxiety would definitely be an Antagonist, so would Depression, at least Inside out didn't tackle that Although in the first movie there was the moment when the Control panel went black and none of the Emotions could fix it... Except for Sadness... It seemed to be Numbness or Depression, that got stopped or more likely lessened from Sadness causing Riley to realise her mistake 7:14 Embarrassment does remind me of Charlie from smiling friend, omfg !! His design {I thought Embarrassment was a Girl} as Rileys mothers emotions are all Women, all of Rileys dads emotions are all men, but Riley has 5 Female emotions and 4 Male emotions, I wonder If that is Symbolism for something. Be do find out Riley is Bi though, I heard 16:37 *_THEY HAVE A NOSTALGIA EMOTION!?_* Awwwwwwww that's adorable, and they made Riley's Nostalgia a sweet little old lady
I would put both riley's friends in the grey right after anxiety, idk its just weird if they were "best friends" they should tell riley before the camp that they will move to other school, not riley finding out bcs grace blurred out herself after riley analyze bree's facial expression. Tbh, actually theyre the ones who causes this whole drama because riley feel left out
(Inside out 3) Nostalgia: **shuffles into HQ like the frail old lady she is** “Oh I remember way back when.. Riley was trying to get 3 goals for a big hockey thing, but she hurt her friend and got a penalty, and then she had a dreadful anxiety atta-“ Joy: “Not the best memory to reminisce on, Nostalgia-“ Embarrassment: **Slowly shuffles over and leads/coaxes Nostalgia back into her little room**
He says he can fix anxiety because in the original concept for the first movie he does similar things too anxiety like making new friends and trying to murder joy with a gun
So I guess Anxiety is like the main villain in Inside Out 2, the first movie didn't have a villain but now in the sequel, Anxiety is the perfect example of a chaotic antagonist.😅
Anxiety isn't a villain. She isn't actively trying to cause harm and doesn't do anything villainous but yes she is the antagonist of the film just not a villain
5:00 correction, this kind of envy isn't the bad envy, this is the envy that sort of makes you wanna have that, lets say I see someone with nice long hair, I will envy them in a good way and wanna have that long hair, probably a little far off but you get the jist,
She literally bottled up the other emotions, trapped them in the vault making sure everyone else in the mind would make sure they never came back, didn’t take into consideration the new emotions memories and only used hers to use for Riley’s beliefs, forced EVERYONE in Riley’s mind to only listen to her and made them afraid of her, tried to COMPLETELY change who Riley is instead of just building up more for Riley, etc. Sounds evil to me!!! She could’ve been concerned for Riley while also being considerate of all the other emotions.
I would have putted joy either between disgust and embarrassment or at last place in the good section, mainly because joy is actually quite selfish compared to other emotions especially she excludes most (especially sadness) and always has obsession with keeping Riley happy all the time and not thinking the other emotions and how they are equally important just like joy. This also lead to people saying that she is actually the villain of the film. But then again she did redeemed herself and it is understandable that it is hard to stay positive all the time but compared to other characters below her (when it comes to flaws and evil misdeeds), Joy definitely would be at the bottom but then again it’s my opinion.
Surprisingly there are differences between a panic attack and an anxiety attack, a panic attack is a term actually used by professionals and an anxiety attack isn't. A panic attack can occur suddenly with or without cause, or at least an unnoticeable cause. An anxiety attack can have prologue symptoms and may build over time. I am no medical professional so take what I say with a grain of salt but I do believe that she had symptoms of an anxiety attack throughout the movie which may have finally turned into a panic attack? According to my mother, I may have had a mild panic attack when I was alone in public. Her words not mine though I did notice I tend to internally freak out when I can't find her as well lol Lastly, I think I was just hungry during that time
You're right sadness is a very good emotion tears are good for you without sad or mad you don't have any thing no joy no sad no mad no envy no anxiety nothing

I’m going to see that very movie today! I am so PSYCHED!!!
Then why did you watch this video as a spoiler.
I was hoping you will do this and I love anxiety
I love the smiling friends call out that made my day 😂
I kinda noticed something when it comes to anxiety and, not just Riley but literally everyone, or mainly her dad, it looks like whatever the lead emotion we see at the lead of the console has to keep anxiety calm, and Riley’s dad seems to do that, really well only popping up as one of those small thoughts you get in your head that you shrug off, which is shown in Riley’s dads mind, so in other cases the lead emotion should calm anxiety, example would be Riley’s mom would be sadness as the lead emotion to calm anxiety whenever she shows up
I saw Bloofy (and especially Pouchy) as more of a parody of Dora the Explorer than anything else. The "oh, Pouchy" part is obviously a parody of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.

Anxiety would definitely be an Antagonist, so would Depression, at least Inside out didn't tackle that
Although in the first movie there was the moment when the Control panel went black and none of the Emotions could fix it... Except for Sadness... It seemed to be Numbness or Depression, that got stopped or more likely lessened from Sadness causing Riley to realise her mistake
7:14
Embarrassment does remind me of Charlie from smiling friend, omfg !! His design {I thought Embarrassment was a Girl} as Rileys mothers emotions are all Women, all of Rileys dads emotions are all men, but Riley has 5 Female emotions and 4 Male emotions, I wonder If that is Symbolism for something.
Be do find out Riley is Bi though, I heard
16:37
*_THEY HAVE A NOSTALGIA EMOTION!?_* Awwwwwwww that's adorable, and they made Riley's Nostalgia a sweet little old lady
I would put both riley's friends in the grey right after anxiety, idk its just weird if they were "best friends" they should tell riley before the camp that they will move to other school, not riley finding out bcs grace blurred out herself after riley analyze bree's facial expression. Tbh, actually theyre the ones who causes this whole drama because riley feel left out
Me too, it's a very unpopular opinion but I strongly agree
I love how the movie designed, and added new emotion’s. But we need more nostalgia appearing.
If _Inside Out 3_ comes to fruition, I could see it being set when Riley becomes a full adult and Nostalgia would be more prominent.
(Inside out 3)
Nostalgia: **shuffles into HQ like the frail old lady she is** “Oh I remember way back when.. Riley was trying to get 3 goals for a big hockey thing, but she hurt her friend and got a penalty, and then she had a dreadful anxiety atta-“
Joy: “Not the best memory to reminisce on, Nostalgia-“
Embarrassment: **Slowly shuffles over and leads/coaxes Nostalgia back into her little room**
"*Imaginary boyfriend" from the first movie and nostalagia have left the chat.*
He says he can fix anxiety because in the original concept for the first movie he does similar things too anxiety like making new friends and trying to murder joy with a gun
This should have been called Grey to Good!
Can you make videos about Capcom and the Fairy Tail anime?
Can people stop calling anxiety a villan? At the end when anxiety gave too much pressure to riley, it was just a mistake.
@@gibbsterV Oh okay. But she is on the Villains Wiki along with Envy and Ennui.
@@gibbsterV she falsley imprisons the original 5 emotions 💀 that is definitely villainous
@@mojochayBut she didn’t do it to be harmful
@@R8Kyt Why?
5:00 correction, this kind of envy isn't the bad envy, this is the envy that sort of makes you wanna have that, lets say I see someone with nice long hair, I will envy them in a good way and wanna have that long hair, probably a little far off but you get the jist,
Ennui is a she, not a he. Don't let the tone of her voice fool you!
Wrong. It's a guy. Movie even says so
I loved the new emotions. They were amazingly displayed
I don't know why people saying Anxiety is evil she isn't evil she's just afraid of Riley's future
@@ashterrifictales7317 Because she wants help Riley though puberty and the other emotions aren't really how you feel when you go through puberty
At least that's what she thought
I was seriously crying when Bing Bong sacrificed himself and I still do. I miss Bing Bong so much 😭😭
I would have putted joy either between disgust and embarrassment or at last place in the good section, mainly because joy is actually quite selfish compared to other emotions especially she excludes most (especially sadness) and always has obsession with keeping Riley happy all the time and not thinking the other emotions and how they are equally important just like joy.
Good thing i saw Inside Out 2 yesterday I like Anxiety as a new character
Multiversus Good to Evil part 2
Riley’s panic attack is a night guard at disney
Riley had an anxiety attack not a panic attack
There basically the same thing. A panic attack is just an extreme anxiety response
That means the same thing
Surprisingly there are differences between a panic attack and an anxiety attack, a panic attack is a term actually used by professionals and an anxiety attack isn't. A panic attack can occur suddenly with or without cause, or at least an unnoticeable cause. An anxiety attack can have prologue symptoms and may build over time. I am no medical professional so take what I say with a grain of salt but I do believe that she had symptoms of an anxiety attack throughout the movie which may have finally turned into a panic attack?
According to my mother, I may have had a mild panic attack when I was alone in public. Her words not mine though I did notice I tend to internally freak out when I can't find her as well lol Lastly, I think I was just hungry during that time
@Vex-Trixztra anxiety attacks are a symptom of an anxiety disorder

Ennui is a girl not a guy
Wrong. Think the movie knows what their character is
I mean memories can filled up. And good memories can be forgotten. What she did isntgrow away bad unwanted memories to make room for the really good and important memories. The memory at the end of insidd out 1. That's important even tho it's sad. It's very important
I definitely get anxiety
I have to make sure mine doesn’t escape prison. But it keeps breaking out.
@@ShortStop_Productions1992 yeah overall anxiety is good for you but if uncontrolled becomes a disorder and chaotic.

Okay wait, yes Bing Bong technically died, but that’s because he was forgotten. Unlike Joy and Sadness, he was a memory, so I don’t think the same rules apply.
