I’m trying to farm the runes from the Countess and I haven’t received any. I’ve done this over and over again…am I doing something wrong? I’m playing on normal.
I’m new to d2. Played a little as a kid but didn’t have my own computer until much later. Here are some things I wondered and had to figure out from multiple sources. I think a lot of these UA-cam guides assume we have any idea what any of these things mean and most of us are 30+ with family etc and don’t have the same time as most content creators. Ideas- Understanding a clear path forward in terms of progression. (a good way to explain this is what to do in between the starter build guides on max roll and the end game build guides. I know there are “starter” sets laid out on those guides but it didnt feel clear in terms of “where to look” for a new players like me) Aim for these levels and these rune words and then look at where to farm and for what..what is the over arching goal. Right now my sorc is level 80 and I have spirit/spirt. Im farming hell meph with like 250% Mf but I have to swap gear right before the kill to achieve this. I don’t even necessarily know what im looking for other than “the build” on max roll. Bosses like Pindleskin don’t even have guides on UA-cam? I had to find out how to get to him and how to farm him. I still don’t know why I’d farm Pindle vs Meph or Andy. An indicator that the old school d2 community “knows” all of the basics but what about the majority of players who have never played before? I think if someone took a “white belt” guide approach it would be very useful to the community as a whole. I really love the way you explain and break things down Rax!
I am completely new new to D2 and im completely lost. Even in act one. I Don't understand how the game works. Could you make a short video for the people who might not even have played an arpg before?
Straight forward explaining, calm voice AND he knows what he is talking about and no additional nonsense talk. GOOD MAN you have one more subscriber. A real rarity among gaming youtubers - thank you
Was just looking for a semi decent sorc build, and came across this guide. I honestly have to say this is the best guide I've ever seen. Not just for D2R, but for any game in general. It's so damn descriptive and well spoken. You don't rush and even show locations on the web for us to recap things easily if we forget. I'm very impressed and beyond excited to rock this sorc build! Amazing job broski, keep up the awesome work! Happy demon slaying!
I really enjoy MrLlama's videos, but this guy really explained from scratch on how to do this class. This was the best video that I have seen so far! Thank you so much for the time that you put into these videos
Back in the Day I played Diablo 1, Hellfire, Diablo 2, LoD, Diablo 3… all from release. Amazing how much you forget over the years and how much comes back simply by watching your vid. I just had crazy flashbacks from all the farm runs I did then 😁 Thanks!
This guide is super helpful, got me my first spirit flawlessly! I’d recommend a little more info on gearing up low to mid level tho, shopping two socket helm and getting a lore, and a guaranteed way to get a 4 socketed pole arm for your mercenary kind of like you did with the spirit, other than that the info is super helpful here and I thank you for doing it! Smiter build would be good as well that’s the one I wanna do next
Overall very fun guide but I would wait to drop a 4 socketed crystal or broad sword for the Spirit rune word instead of wasting the socketing from Larzuk which is usually kept for an end game unique. It' a far longer wait in the end game and more permanent than maybe a few hours at level 30. You could probably make cow runs until you get the socketed item (and do so with 0% magic find bonus to be faster). Or just proceed with Nightmare difficulty until you get the random drop of such. On secondary characters of course you can inherit the Spirit and use it at level 25 which is VERY unlikely on a fresh run.
Raxx I'm new to Diablo 2 so I've been reading up and researching in-between playing and your channel is the best one I've found, you explain things plainly and you don't condescend to your audience. Thank you for your videos, I'll check them all out. Keep it up, you're great!
This has always been my goto starter for ladder. It easily will gear out other characters. Its fun to relearn/remember all the little details from the OG days. I have learned a few more tips and tricks now that Maxroll and your vids as my source of truth. For some reason though i always struggle on Act 2. Currently level 23 and trying to go through Tal Rasha's temple. Maybe im being inpatient and i should just keep farming the countess until i respec full blizz. Either way, Not my favorite act. But once i get over that hump it only gets better. At least until the level 98-99 push, painful memories of losing over half full xpbar of progress to 99, due to a lag spike or something dumb. Looking forward to see what new things are discovered D2R, with all the new players and players of old. Keep up the great work man.
Hey! Long time PoE player here, just got into D2R and was afraid to start blizz sorc due to cold immunes, but your sheer confidence and breakdown of all the essentials made me start it and oh boy...Talk about a blast. Much love!!!
if youve never played the original some things to note. armor only effects your chance of being hit compared to mob level, there are mob level areas..the areas effect loot finding. items have drop levels that work with mob area levels. while running your armor class is 0 so you will be 95% chance to hit at all times regardless of your lvl-mob level until your walking/standing still.
I loved this guide: it was funny, informative and answered questions i didn't even know i had to ask. It sure was the Mona Lisa for a new player like me. I started out as a druid because I thought playing as a werewolf looked fun, but having to constantly shift in and out form every 2 mins and dying repeatedly on nightmare was why i made a sorceress. Thanks for the guide and the pro tips.
Best guide I’ve seen for the class I’ve originally chosen.. I used to reference icy veins when playing wow but didn’t know where to turn for this game. Played a ton of d3 but never any d2. Glad I clicked this video thanks a ton
Best hands down guide! thank you very much cause of this i got myself A Oculus and Shako within my first 150 runs ~ and got a little bonus of a vipermagic as well.. thanks again!!!
Im grateful that i saw your nicely informative easy cheesy explained vide and gave many many important hints and advices that i didnt knew when i was a kid and still good..let the games start!
Thank you for this vid. I've been playing this game mindlessly in a group, currently on Nightmare mode and haven't really thought of properly building my Sorc. You've explained tbings very well. I surely learned a lot.
Build is still A+. With that guide the link goes to, forget Fireball if you're end game, Get cold mastery maxed STAT. It makes the world of difference.
When looking for your white sword for Spirit, be sure to remove as much MF as you can to increase the chances of white items to drop. MF increases the chances of white items to be upgraded into Magic+.
Thanks for this it is really helping me through my first playthrough. I'm already lvl 21 and I got Leaf and Stealth gonna wait till lvl 24 to do change over to cold and wreck everything. just wanted to say thank you for this guide it's very very good and well explained.
Thank you so much for this guide! I've been struggling with Andy on Hell because my mercenary will not stop dieng so I'll make him a Treachery. I can still do the Mephisto Moat trick with about 320 MF, guess I just need better gear to make the runs faster, you rock man!
Would love a fishymancer build guide like this *Or your variation on a summon necro. I've watched a few other build guides on them and read max roll and icy veins build. But would love your take on it seems everyone builds them a little diff. I am only able to play single player and would like to defeat ubers with my summon necro solo. Love your videos always calm easy to understand. Other build guides people talk to fast or don't go over stuff as well as you. Thanks for all the great content!
It's definitely true that a Blizz Sorc is the best way to go for most of the game, but when you've reached VERY far into the late game, you'll want to(eventually)find the runes for an infinity for your merc and respec to a lightning sorc. Lightning does way more damage and with infinity you can break the immunities of the lightning immune monsters
I just started playing d2 so i been watching a lot of streams and youtubes. I gotta say this is top notch! Keep up the great work im looking forward to watching more of your vids
Let you know what we think? It was straight up awesome dude! Thank you for the crystal clear guide on this build. Can't wait to destroy mobs and bosses.
I had a lot of issues with my merc dying but once I learned how to bug him hes way easier to keep alive. You just go to the inner cloister and go through the door on the left towards the jail and then run back in towards the waypoint and quickly close the door trapping your merc on the other side. Then you run to the bottom right until you cant see your merc on the map and wait till he teleports to you. After that melee mobs will ignore him and just run after you helping him survive a ton more. So now I start hell, go the the inner cloister and bug him, do countess, andy, tunnels, meph, pindle. My MF is non existent right now I will have to try getting a 3 socket helm for sure great idea. Also that bug with the stairs not appearing is super frustrating whenever it happens.

I really liked this video. I can't tell if your actually being condescending or if your just that passionate about this. Either way you inspired me to make a blizzard sorceress. I just got her to 28 and re speced. Holy shit it's fun
Yo raxx, I've watched guides from other full time diablo 2 streamers but you were the first I heard to ever mentioned that the cata lvl2 map is random (i.e. go left or right, it doesn't matter). Good call man, I've been wondering about that for a while.
Didn't get my hands on a Lem for the Treachery yet. So I grabbed a smoke, which is better than random shit. At least it maxes out the merc resistances. Still hoping for the Lem, though. Also Hell Act 3 now, and still using a Stealth.
if you dont get 4 sockets on the sword just alt control delete and close d2 right away and restart it. It will forget you did the quest and can do it again. Don't know if it still works on this new D2 but it used to work. Also works on the Imbue quest on Act 1
"I may have misjudged you, outlander." I started a sorc and I am having a lot of fun. Right now I am using a leaf in normal act 4 and still killing everything. BTW I used your Hell method for Mephisto and it was awesome. I almost felt sorry for him LOL
We love a classic WW Baba. How about a 1-99 and final build guide for it? Much like your start for season guide for D3 where you calmy and simply give each step to farming end game content. That would be fantastic. Thanks for all the content.
I have just re-watched this guide and was astonished as to how much information I missed from the first time. All Rax's guides I watched do not contain bla-bla-bla bullshit, only crucial information, and this is amazing. Given that this guide is almost 1-hour long, you can imagine how much info it does contain if literally every word is useful! There is one question however which I could not find an answer to, although it's pretty straitforward -- STR requirements for Monarch (156 if I am correct) are pretty tough, and most other streamers and guides assume that you already have Anihilus and Torch charms giving you 20+20 to all attributes. However, in order to hunt them, you should have Monarch, I gather. In order to use Monarch, you should have Anihilus and Torch. A vicious circle. From what I see in this guide, Rax does not have neither of the two imba charms nor other STR-boosting items and still wears Monarch. Does it mean that it is ok to sacrifice that lot of Vitality at the cost of investing quite a lot of attributes points into STR for the sake of Monarch?
Thanks for the great video. It explained a lot of things to me that I didn't know. I have just started to play with my sorceress and I already know what to look out for. Even if it will take a while before I can play like you;)
Let me know which other topics you'd like me to cover in Diablo 2 Resurrected!
All. All the aspects & topics on D2 of course>

This is easily the easiest to follow guide for new players. The other creators speak as if we’ve been playing for years.
After a week of watching videos and playing the game you will understand them

Brilliant guide Rax. It jad just the perfect amount of detail, not too much and definitely not too much.
Extremely easy to understand and follow what you say. I’ve been playing D2 since release, but never really tried hard on it, so this is very helpful.

great video. I have beat Hell, but don't have all that great BIS stuff the builds have, so it helped confirm what i should be farming and doing.
Seeing all these newbies that hasn't played d2 is amazing. I'm going on 10+ years of this game

Another great video rax just started on d2 after disappointing d4 so invaluable advice it’s appreciated thanks again an hour well spent mate
getting Vikhyat really boosted my build, thanks Raxx...

Thanks a lot. Crystal clear and very helpful =)
I had a lot of issues with my merc dying but once I learned how to bug him hes way easier to keep alive. Also that bug with the stairs not appearing is super frustrating whenever it happens.
Amazing guide mate. Thank you so much for how detailed you made it.
I enjoyed the video, was thorough as hell and filled with good tips. You did a great job, I played diablo 2 as a kid and only got through it with one character to nightmare difficulty lol now imma feel bit more competitive with it
Great job by far the best explained guide for Blizzard Wiz Thank you very much
Lol sorry it kept bothering me that you kept saying southwest during the meph run when you were pointing to the southeast haha
Damn dude you are so skilled, a real pro gamer. I'm impressed.

Cata lvl3 I guess. Cata lvl2 is right-oriented. ;-)
Great vid, especially with regards to the treachery runeword. Thanks!
Does anybody know what is the trick of the Treachery runeword used by merc? From its attributes, it does not seem anything outstanding at all...

if you dont get 4 sockets on the sword just alt control delete and close d2 right away and restart it. It will forget you did the quest and can do it again. Don't know if it still works on this new D2 but it used to work. Also works on the Imbue quest on Act 1

Even if it will take a while before I can play like you;)
love it, we need more guides like this, well explained! keep it coming man.
