  • On June 14, 2023, Toronto City Council approved the Bloor Street West Complete Street Extension to make travel on the street safer, more connected, convenient and attractive for everyone.
Bike lane construction began in September and recently finished, but people are already complaining, including Ontario Premier Doug Ford who said he sees maybe one cyclist a year using the bike lanes.
On November 5, 2023, the Toronto Community Bikeways Coalition (TCBC) invited cyclists to prove Doug Ford wrong by riding the Bloor Street West Complete Street Extension from High Park to Tom Riley Park in Etobicoke.
The Toronto Community Bikeways Coalition is a volunteer advocacy group that believes municipal transportation priorities must be urgently re-ordered toward better cycling, transit and walking facilities.
This approach not only helps address the climate emergency by cutting
greenhouse gas emissions, it advances the collective goals of equity, public health and road safety.
Over 300 riders of all ages and walks of life joined in the WE BELONG ON BLOOR ride.

Classic! We loved the lonely-looking protesters. We loved your comment “you want publicity don’t you?”

That man arguing about bikes being uninsured is like saying we should register all butter knives as if they were guns.
