I work about five block from this place. That guy is there EVERY day during the week calling out orders for pickup as they come out of the oven. I don't know his name, but he's a good guy.

Benjamin K. 7.1 is a good pizza, but will not drive thirty minutes to get it. It is a pizza that you should grab if you’re near by. The pizza was greasy. Greasy pizza should never get a 7.1 score.

I’ve been to this pizza place couple years ago.
It was packed. I don’t remember what the pizza was like. I know I liked it but I also know i was starving and someone else paid for it so that could affect the score.
I would definitely go there again if I ever get a chance to return to Tampa. Though I usually ate pizza over in Ybor.

Having lived in both NJ and Florida, I have to agree with him. The pizza in Florida is generally terrible. Eddie and Sam's isn't bad though. 7 is a fair score

I’ve never been there but if you do Tampa you gotta do ‘NY NY Pizza’ in Ybor City or ‘Taste of New York Pizzeria ‘ in New Tampa off of Bruce B. Downs blvd.... I’m not from NY I’m from Tampa but I guarantee you’d say it’s real New York pizza (or as close as you can get).

its probably the best of tampa/st. pete. kinda new york style, a little greasy, but it has a good crust with a nice crisp. the grease kills it though and makes it a little soggy at the ends. i think 7.1 is fair but it would be 7.6-7.8 if they fixed the greasy cheese issue.

I drove 2 hours each way to get this a year or so ago. It was hyped as the second best pizza in Florida. I grabbed two pies and it was a 6 at best. I wanted so much for this to be good. I wouldn't order it again if it was down the street.
I need to see what y’all consider a 9 or 10 for pizza. Some New Yorkers say it taste the same and some say it’s shit. I personally think it’s pretty good.

I'm from Brooklyn currently living in Tampa and I agree about Eddie and Sam's. Good, okay pizza, nothing special though. If you want something special in Tampa go to Mirro's formerly Paci's on Dale Mabry. It's as good as the best Brooklyn pizza.
They sold the company... do you know any other spots? I was born and raised in upstate NY and have not found a single pizza spot that compares to NY pizza since moving down here about a decade ago.

This is my fav pizza in Tampa. I have had New York pizza in New York. It was good, but did not wow me. To each their own, but I would like to try what this guy says is the best he ever had.

This place is pretty good for pizza. The cheese is pretty basic for taste. The specialty pizzas are what this place is really all about.
Westshore Pizza 🍕 is one of my Favorites. The lamb right location was always on point. They changed ownership and now it’s called Big G’s Pizza and Grille. Damn good pizza !!
Tampa has a lot of good NY style slices, had family out there and Sam's NY in Tampa was my favorite. wish Georgia had some, or at least MORE!
I've lived here since 1987 and I haven't found a good 🍕 pizza yet, or Chinese food that isn't like dog food. You just can't get it here, fact.
This is my favorite pizza place in Tampa.
They import NY tap water. They have big jugs of the tap water on display and I've seen them use it in making their dough and that's what convinced me that the water can make a difference (you have to hand toss the dough instead of using a machine though). However, I was very unimpressed by the pizza. My guess is that they spent their so much money on the water and went cheaper on the other ingredients which is a no-no. I'd say a 5.8

Eddie & Sam's is great for a slice or two. Everytime I've been there, the pizza is crispy. I can't speak for a whole pizza(and I would never get plain), but their individual slices are good.
8.5 for that would be a national tragedy.

Ok I live in West Palm but went to Tampa and St Pete for the weekend to see the Dali museum and we stopped here , pizza pretty legit honestly and idgaf about the grease but the one we got was in the low 7s but looked slightly better than what Dave got. I can see him giving 6.9 if he was in his mood and the fact the guy near him but 7.1 was quite accurate. Good for Tampa, the guys know about Dave but we didn’t see this bearded dude the day we went , I’d recommend going I enjoyed. I would have been hella confused if Dave gave this a high 7 so maybe shook maybe not lmaoo

Next time you're in Tampa stop by Alessi Bakery and try the Scachatta. It's best described as a Cuban Scicillin pizza. It's served room temp and baked on sheet pans. It's different, but it's delicious!

When you're making a pie for slices this is what you pull out of the oven sort of a "pre-cook" then if someone orders a slice you add applicable toppings or leave it plain and you put it back to finish cooking. Why is everyone enamored with undercooked apizz?

There is actually a place in Fort Lauderdale that serves NY style pizza. Owned by a retired New York pizza maker. Next to the Aruba beach cafe at Lauderdale by the sea !

I had this last week in Tampa and it was good, ordered it through Doordash unfortunately so it wasn't as good as it could've been but I'd definitely eat it again.
