Well crap. I saw they revised the missions in the patch notes this morning but haven't fired it up yet. Time to revisit my technique. Thanks for the heads up!
@andrewwturner I updated the description but it'll take some time to figure out the best replacement. The nice thing was this was an easy early mission.
Really appreciate it! I try to get one Icarus vid out per week as well as one other survival game, so def more to come! If there's something specific you want to know more about, let me know!
@@benny9 Anytime I know the struggles :)... I had Icarus sitting in my Steam library for two years and only played 35 hours before I picked it up again last week. So far over the last 5 days I have accumulated 60 hours of game time, Icarus have really sucked me in, and I love all the updates that have since been released when I stopped playing 2 years ago.
Don't think I've even done that one. I was on an almost year long break from the game during the time they introduced the kiwi. Might have to go give that a try!
There are another 5 possible exotic vein locations within about 1/2 km radius. 1 on the island in the L12/L13 lake. 2 further by the L11 lake and 2 more in M11 - these 2 are not near any obvious landmarks on icarusintel.
Yeah I used to check them all, or pop down a radar but to me it seems quicker to just check that position and go back up if it's not there. Seems to be there more than half the time. The island is very rarely closer though depending on your drop location. In that case I would check both. But I won't claim my way is the the most efficient, just that's how I do it.
@@benny9 It was just a suggestion. You are not doing anything while the extractors are working - just thought it might be worth a quick look-see. I seem to remember there was a prospect that had 4 possible locations. They were usually split up in pairs, so either both to the 'north' or both to the 'south' were active. Land, sprint to the nearest pair, if they were active life was great. If not, the other pair were active.
Batteries, Biofuel Can and the Hydrozine, can send back up if not used once, for the biofuel it wont be able to go back up even if 100% refilled at the composter. So basically, no return if seal is broken kinda logic, Would be nice if the Tooltip shows it somehow if it can go back up.
I was wondering if that was how it worked with the "broken seal" as you put it. Great analogy. I know the "experimental power supply" says it can't be sent back up on the tool tip, but the others don't. Agreed, they really should have a warning.
It's in the talent tree and also available as a suite module. I have the talent. There's several levels of it for small animal, large animal and bosses I believe. Not at my computer at them moment though. I think it's in the hunting talent tree.
Yeah, it's an rng spot. But that mission only has a small number of possible locations for exotics to spawn so it's going to be in that spot pretty often. I normally just check that spot then if it's empty I just launch back up and then drop back down again until it's there.
Yep, the Intel map is really useful for a lot of things including exotics, deep or veins, and mission objectives. Unfortunately I don't think it's being updated anymore or at least it isn't at the moment. Still, very useful. Thanks for posting the suggestion!
Hello sir, im new to the game. I just got it of the Steam yesterday . Is there any mark on our explanation on the items our resources that we can send to the station? How do we know what we can send ....requests use and resend back to the station and so on ? Thank you 😊
Easiest rule is if it came from the station you can send it back to the station. If it came from the planet you can't. There are a few exceptions though: First, exotics CAN be sent up, but only in a cargo pod from the orbital exchange interface. Second, items you consume (arrows, bullets, med kits, etc.) CAN'T be sent back up once opened. Third, fuel items such as the experimental power supply for the extractor and the hydrazine canisters, CAN'T be sent up even if there's remaining fuel. Forth, tamed animals CAN be sent up using a cargo pod. Because science.
@@PhoenixEQ Yep. Bring them close to the cargo pod and they'll appear in the pod menu. Select them and then send up the pod. After that you can bring them down later on the same prospect or use them in another prospect if you want. Just like any of the workshop gear. You can even call them down with a different character. After my group quit our Olympus open world and started a new one on Prometheus, I called down my wolves and mount as soon as we had the orbital exchange set up.
Did something change? I haven’t had to manually put my equipment back into a pod in a long time… when I go back up, my equipment is just taken back with me.
No, old habit. Exotics do need to go up in a cargo pod now and you can only carry one extractor at a time so I normally drop one in the cargo pod because it's closer than running all the way back to the drop pod and back again for both extractor.
Q - If i understood right Exotics only come into Game if you made the Missions for it... will they allso "Spawn" then into a Open World that you had started before doing this "Unlock" ?
I can't go back to before I unlocked it to test it but from what I understand you don't need to do the missions to unlock exotics in open world. I'm 99% on this.
A very good question. Things have changed a lot since I started playing Icarus. Originally I know you had to yes. Now? I'm not certain. Next time I play I'll test it.
So it does indeed look like you still need deep vein extraction. I created a new character and did 10 drops without a single spawn. I'd say normally I get a spawn at least half the time. It's hard to just look things up with games like this that have evolved so much over time.
Yep, all the missions are repeatable as far as I know. This was actually my 2nd take, my recording software crashed during the first. Total from two runs was almost 600 exotics counting what I found in the caves. Welcome back to Icarus, just started again myself about 2 weeks ago.
I suppose that's theoretically possible it's just bad luck but that seems a bit extreme... The game has changed so much that part of what I know could be based on outdated or just bad info. There used to be a mission you had to do before the veins appeared but I though that was no longer the case... Have you found other exotics veins or would this be your first?
I have been using your method but this last update deleted that map😢

@farmerrabbit A ton of changes yeah, and I really like the direction it's taken. New update every Friday too.
Keep the content coming Benny!
You got it!
@benny9 thanks for all the info!! Especially the taming wolves!!
Liked and subscribed. Thanks Benny!
Welcome to the channel! Much appreciated!
The kiwi repopulation mission has a pretty good return on time spent without the need for an extractor
Don't think I've even done that one. I was on an almost year long break from the game during the time they introduced the kiwi. Might have to go give that a try!
Nice! I do spirit walk for grind exotics, I still get the same range of exotics on easy vs normal. For just grinding exotics, easy is the way to go :)
Absolutely. Getting exotics can get really grindy when things start to get expensive. The faster and more efficient the better.

theres no exotic to farm for me in that spot 14:15 is that rng position?

If you are only interested in exotics try looking at icarusintel. It shows the possible places for exotics.
