- This DIY is for the MK6 Golf R (2011-2013).
Here's I will cover how to install your new DV+ from Go Fast Bits. I'll also be replacing the Diverter Valve Solenoid since I'm already down there.
thats the n80 valve right next to the div pretty easy to remove that to did it today😀
Yeah, it's right out in the open. Love it when parts are that easy to get to. 😁
About a yr has passed since this video, how is the DV+ holding on?
DV+ is still running well! I still have it installed, and it still holds the ~23psi that my current tune is set to. I'm not sure if it was just a break-in period thing, but it used to make a noticeable (not loud) flutter noise that can be heard from inside the cabin. Now it's a lot more quieter. The forums i sifted through say it's not supposed to be loud in the first place, so the reduction of noise is not something that has concerned me.
Mechanically and performance-wise, it has served me well and i'm lovin' it. Haven't looked back since i installed it.
the reduced noise and flutter is because this div valve makes less compressor surge so u wont get that flutter sound to protect turbo its more of a performance upgrade than sound. u keep boost pressure better so better pedal responsivness
@@paulrochavalencia4192 I bought one for my GTi (MK6), and is the opposite, it sounds louder. I noticed the car more responsive, I don't need to use too much throttle like I used to. And at full boost it holds it at 18-20psi, IE stage 2 on a 91 tune (with DSG tune as well).
Must say I bought the eBay china brand GFB for $25, shipped. Only thing I did was polish the brass piston, but so far is working fine.
@@psiturboi might have to try polishing the brass piston to see if that does anything with noise. Tille's comment above makes sense that the noise dies down after a while due to less compressor surge. So maybe once your car's computer gets used to the air flow, it'll quiet down? Either way, all-in-all, im glad yours worked out. I was on a 91 tune with 034 motors until i had to smog my car 😅
Hey man, great video. How did the modification work? Did it help with the hesitation at all?
Thank you! I appreciate the feedback.
And yes, it definitely helps with the hesitation a slight bit. It's not a huge power mod but you'll definitely feel it. And if you're wondering if it'll make any whoosh(intake noises) or flutter(release noises), then yes. The DV+ still makes a nice and subtle whoosh noise when accelerating and, sometimes when letting off of the accellerator, will produce a slightly more than subtle flutter noise.
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the video, goodluck with your future modifications 🤟
@@paulrochavalencia4192 thanks for the reply bro. That's great to hear. Yea I have 2 things happening on my golf R one is to do with dead pedal in the first 10% of travel (have a Sprint Booster on the way) but there is also some delay on how the turbo kicks in after shifting gears. So was hoping this would help. Thanks 😊
Have you had any problems yet with the gfb dv+? Also I been hearing that you have to lubricant the main plunger every few months too
I personally haven't had any issues with it. I've been running it for several months now. Maybe I'll do a video on checking the plunger to see what it looks like after running it for about 5-6 months?
My top psi for this car has always been around 22-23psi. I don't normally punch the gas as much as some enthusiasts do, but when I do, I still get those same numbers when making boost. Same numbers since when I first installed the DV+.
@@paulrochavalencia4192 alrighty thank you for your response
Does it change the noise of the turbo pression somehow or not at all?
My car runs a bit quieter than others since it has a closed airbox. Before the install you were not able to hear a turbo flutter. Once I installed the DV+, I can hear a turbo flutter at high acceleration lift-offs. What I mean by that is: you hear a flutter once lifting your foot off the gas pedal after an aggressive acceleration.
All-in-All, it's not a very noisey/loud mod.

how old are you?
Did you get a high pitch whistling noise when shifting ?
I did get a noise like that for like 3 months. But it's better much silent now. Idk if it was like a "break-in" thing. It's not supposed to make noise.
As of right now, I still have it installed, and my boost is still holding up to the 22-23psi my car is tuned for. So i'd still recommend it. 👌
