Yes! Old electronics! Old phones and computers 5:21 They're piling up because I don't know how to clear data from them. Once I figure that out, I'll find out where to recycle/dispose of them properly in my area.
Clean My Space I second PAPERS!!!! i.e: old mail/Bank statements/kids' school projects... also I'm an artist too & can't seem to part with all my practice sheets that I've filled up :/ ...papers papers everywhere
Nearly everything, I moved from a 3 bedroom home to an assisted living room. Tiny room. I moved from a king size bed to a twin bed. From a big walk in closet to a small wardrobe. From a dresser and chest of drawers to a single chest of drawers. Did I mention I am a crafter? I love diy, but guess what, I have no room! I have six tubs of stuff they put in storage, and that was just part of my crafting materials. I still have two tubs and could easily fill two more. How do you go from everything to nearly nothing? Did I mention the room is TINY... it is about a 10x12. Small bathroom and a little room they call a kitchenette? It is one very small refrigerator and a microwave. Oh and one small cabinet. Help! how do you declutter a lifetime of memories?
Hello Clean my space, I definitely need to clean out my basement and clothes that haven't been worn for so long, blankets and papers that need to be shredded, old pens just like you I am a pen holder person. I just love them, especially if they write great like the Gel pens is the number one pen for me. Now I saw on tv that they now have Inkjoy pens like gel pens but better they dry faster on the spot. I love the Idea of the FLIP- IT for any kind of lotions, condiments and dish soap for dishes and so much more that is my favorite why didn't they have that long a go. That way we don't need to use a q-tip. I love that they are coming up with new Ideas can't wait.
I had to chuckle when you held up what looked to be 2 HDMI cables as an example of what to toss. Just recently I had an HDMI cable go bad while watching TV late in the evening. Instead of having to wait until the next day to go purchase one--I went down the basement and grabbed one out of my spare cable tote. So my suggestion would be to keep 1 spare of each cable type. If you roll them up neatly and secure them with a tie--they don't really take up that much space.
A tip I got from one of my IT friends is to sort wires and cables by type and place them into labeled Ziploc bags. The cables don't tangle and labelling makes it easy to find a replacement without going through a tangled mess.
The other thing you should do is to put those cables into old paper towel rolls (or yes toilet paper rolls) and Write What They Are On The Roll!!!!! "I don't have time to look it up." Wow. She must have OOOODLES of money!
Yeah! Don’t get rid of those HDMI cables! Those are expensive. You could buy one of those clear shoe boxes, wrap the cords up neatly in a rubber band, store them in the box.
I had at least 200 fashion magazines that I had hoarded and couldn't bare to toss. I ended up buying about 4 of these books from dollarama with clear plastic inserts. I went through each magazine page by page and ripped out pictures and articles that I wanted to keep and put them inside the new books. Best decision ever! I now have 4 books of my favourite magazine clippings instead of 200 magazines laying around. 👍🏼
So I just have to say that I love when you can see another room in your videos and you can tell that room isn't perfectly clean. It just helps me to see that your house isn't perfect. It's part of what makes your channel so successful, because you're relatable and honest. Thank you.
I normally don't comment on stuff, but I have to tell you...I just found your videos & have watched continuously for the past 2 hrs. I had a smile on my face & my husband walked by & he asked what I was watching. I shared what it was & I told him I felt like you were in my house, as each time you showed something I would just laugh inside. You know you have clutter & so often are like what do with this stuff. You have addressed every thing in my house so far in the 4 declutter videos LOL So glad I found your You Tube videos. I enjoy your personality, quick explanations & the amt of information you fit into each short video. I will absolutely forever be a fan & continue watching. Thanks so much for all you do!! :-)
Darlin', I will teach you how to LOVE cold weather. Just move to the deep South. Spend one whole summer. You will learn how to wipe that dripping sweat running down your just made up face & neck. You dab, never rub. At all times have a cold drink in a thermal container with a lid (to keep the way-too-many-bugs out). Clothes must be loose & flimsy. A hat, of course. Spf 50. Central AC. Window units are for those just arriving here. AC full blast in the car. Park in the shade, no matter how far away from the entrance/exit. LOVE your V's My Queen of Clean. You are my inspiration. How did I ever manage without you???!!! xxoo
Just went through an entire closet of boxes, boxes and more boxes of photos! Threw entire albums away in some cases. Emptied 6 photo albums and tossed and sorted all kinds of photos. Albums now in garage sale box! Threw away 5 garbage bags of photos, have 2 large boxes to send to family members (as I inherited all family photos)and am left with one album, 2 shoe boxes and 3 small bins yet to sort! After a week of this had to hold off on the rest. Will most likely do another sort and purge in the near future and tackle the last 3 bins. Organized shoe boxes by categories and the trips down memory lane were enlightening! I have had all this stored for decades! What a sense of accomplishment and lighter feel. My guest room is a guest room again!
Kids toys... Grandkids have out grown so many I had for when they come over so I donated two garbage bags of toys some other kids can enjoy. Felt good. Now my office/craft room.
I find that keeping one of each kind of common cable has served me well. Last year I went home through my tangled mess and threw out all the duplicates, and I've been surprised at how many times I've been grateful I still had one odd cable.
Melissa- you have really helped and inspired me to live a more tidy, stress free life. It's amazing how much stress is eliminated by clearing out all of the clutter and items I was holding on to. Ive decluttered and donated so much- which in turn- has made it 1000x easier to keep my small space clean and tidy. This has been a crucial first step toward my journey of minimalism. I've learned to own my belongings... instead of letting them own me. So Thank You! SO MUCH! Keep it up with the amazing work :)
I watched half of this video and ended up pausing and going out into the garage. That was three hours ago! I now have five large bins of things I don't use/need that I'll be selling at a yard sale; thank you so much!
I made a great clearance of lots of home linen and stuff like five years ago, when me and my boyfriend decided to live together. We came to our shared house with like 10 blankets and over a dozen big bath towels. We kept 1 blanket per bed plus one for the sofa (as we also have a conforter and it's never too cold here in Barcelona), and we donated all extra blankets, linen and towels to a cat and dog rescue center. They are always grateful for those, and we're happy to know some cats and dogs will be sleeping on confortable blankets since then ^.^!!
Donate working pens and paperclips to your favorite teacher friend. My students go through so many loaner pens.....many students don't have even basic supplies.
The kids can fix the broken computers too... Shop classes are now becoming computer classes. If they don't want them; check with the local vo-tec schools.
I needed your help desperately . I m living in a clutter fest. I will need u r help For a long long time. I usually spin in circles cleaning n decluttering. U have given me hope to potentially decluttering room to room. My hope picture chest is abounding and in need of u r GREAT GREAT advise of tossing many duplicate pictures in my bedroom.Day by day by day I have a new challenge instigated by u r insights. I can not thank u enough!! God bless you and u r ideas for a better home life, I WILL have an Organization plan and simpler life rather than eye sore everywhere. Thank you for assisting my home n cluttered mind too. God will bless you for helping many a cluttered home!!!!
my family and I are actually cleaning out the basement after a renovation, we didn't really get to look through things before. I alone used to have 5 bins of school stuff I narrowed it down to 1. One thing I am proud of is we have used 5-8 recycling bags, yet haven't even filled 1 garbage bag. As well as a ton of donation bags or bins :) so thank you for giving inspiration and giving great tips
Regarding electronic cables....as soon as I get something with a cable, I use my label maker and make a tag to put on that cable. I store all cables in a cute decorative box and now when I'm looking for the cable for my rechargeable headphones, it's labeled and easy to locate in my cable storage box.
Melissa, your so inspired to us , thanks! I started my decluttering with nicks and nacks , all over the apt! I collected a bag full of staff and I donated them to a daycare, and school close to me! Have a wonderful weekend!
When I buy a piece of equipment, I check to see if the appliance is marked on the accompanying cable. If it isn't, I print a small brother label and tag it. That way, I never have to hunt for the right charger or wonder if random cables belong to a piece of equipment I no longer own. I also label computer chargers with my mobile number in case I accidentally leave them behind at a coffee shop or co-working space.
After watching these I tossed alot of stuff while cleaning and changing my apartment! Like I think I have 3 toss bags, 2 bags to donate/sale and 3 small boxes that didn't fit the bags.. from just one room!! Feels amasing!! Thanks for the tips!!
I got the audio version on audible! I'm so glad you chose to do the voice work, I wouldn't have enjoyed it nearly as much if it was someone else. the information is great!! I've been putting it to work
We are getting ready to move across country in 6 months, I'm such a pack-rat by nature, but your videos definitely help me get rid of things around my house to help make moving easier... Love, love, love your videos!!
My hardest thing to toss/organize/declutter are all my daughters preschool artwork along with, bills, important statements, notices, manuals, taxes, etc. The other is recipes that I have saved, (but probably will never try). Thanks for these videos they are awesome. I look forward to the next one.
I hate to tell you this but you need to make sure that you have backups of everything that is digital. I no longer save anything but installed software on my computer HD. I save all my digital files stored on 2 external HDs and I store one of them in a separate location. Any electronic device is going to eventually fail and it sucks to loose a lifetime of memories.
Will never get tired of these types of videos! Your format and explanations are always very motivating, too! Recently had a huge clean out when we re did our bedroom floors - had to take everything out, so went through everything before it went back into the rooms. It's amazing how much junk we can hold on to.
You are a very good speaker and such a personable person. I love all your videos and I enoy watching them. Thank you. Thanks to you my home is so much more liveable. Your the bomb!!!!!
You're not the only one with a pen obsession. I have an office supply obsession in general. Constantly purging. Right now I'm organizing a table that is in my family room with stuff that either needs to be recycled, shredded, thrown out or belongs somewhere in another room. Feels good to see results.
Everything you shared in this video! But also lots of paperwork that needs to be shredded. Where can I find a reputable shredding company? Who do you recommend?
I started collecting pens since grade school - you could find so many on the floor. I actually enjoy going through them with a notebook testing them out. It's easy to toss the ones that don't work and the ones that don't have a nice dark ink and smooth flow.
Melissa, I am absolutely LOVING your book!! I'm so glad I bought it. But I need to beg you to please make another one (part 2?) that's all about cleaning/maintaining the yard, garage, outdoor furniture, porch, etc, basically the rest of the house that isn't part of your first book.
I think you are awesome! I so need all of these tips. I bought your book too. Thank you for sharing these tips. I am a clutter queen and working on changing that:)
I am realizing that I need to let go of some of my office supplies. I also have an old computer to let go of that isn't working correctly, but have not done so because I need to be sure I have the data that is on it and then to delete it off of it along with some programs. I must put it on my today list. Thank you for the reminder. I am currently doing the Kon Mari Method so I will be getting to office supplies shortly. I have been amazed and very pleased with how much I have let go of. Thank You for this video. I appreciate you and Chad very much. Thank you for all you do.
In the same idea of the diy jars stuffs I need to toss a lot of craft supply. I mean scrap booking stuff from 12 years ago... need to go ! I learn that I can give some of this stuff to recreational center and even some elementary school , they always craft supply for the kids !! BTW I bought the book and totally love it, I'm moving soon and can't wait to start my new cleaner life.
I am trying to search online for that giant yellow tea cup and saucer that is holding all the cables in the video. Any ideas as to where I can get one. I think it's so cute :) Thanks.
Really old stuffs that some people might not even know what they are: radio with cassette tape player, radio with CD player, cassette player walkman, portable CD player, cassette tapes, VHS cassettes, mobile phones, cordless phones, dockets... There were more things, which I had (over the years) dispose them one at a time, so my family won't notice, but the above items are more difficult to handle, unless none of them will be ever searched by my family!!! Our grown daughters have left behind a lot of half used/never used notebooks / paper in our study, which has became our spare room. To throw them into the recycle bin seems a bit of waste, but it's been over 5-8 years, my husband and I can't use them quick enough... Are there any other ways I can make good use of those paper/note books, etc?
I used to work at a credit union and when I switched stations there were tons of office supplies even though the supply drawer was 10 ft away. I brought myself down to one red, one blue, and one black pen. One pencil, a highlighter, scissors, 5 paper clips, and a staple remover. It was easy to find everything and it was neat and so much easier to clean.
Hi Melissa... I've watched a bunch of your videos but I may have missed it if you've made one about your cleaning schedule. How do you keep track of your cleaning? Weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual cleaning projects? Do you have a good method of tracking and organizing your cleaning "to do list"? My family is struggling with this. Thanks for all your videos. You are teaching me SO many things I never would have thought to do!
My fav is that you also look so clean and put together :) I usually look homeless while I’m cleaning house. I guess if i dressed up i might even be a bit more motivated to get the house looking as flawless as my outfit 😆
Small appliances, bread machine that I never use, deep fryer, counter top rotisserie, coffee maker (went back to French press), toaster oven, etc. Pros and cons of whether I use it enough to keep it, and deciding whether there is an acceptable alternative that doesn't take up space.
How about a video on bookshelf organization? I have a huge bookshelf in my home where I put hoarded books and old sketchbooks that I NEED a good system for.
Don't toss your photos. A family member lost a lot of memories in a house fire. Share your photos. You will be surprised at family members that would love to have them. Pass them down the family line for a family tree. I loved my black and white photo of great-great-great grandma. But if you must, your choice.
Certainly not all photos need to be tossed - I was moreso referring to old photos which don't mean anything - or you don't even like - the ones that just take up space and have no sentimental value :) Thanks for watching!
Yes I have finished sorting all my photos. The grown up kids have theirs and I haved posted old family photos to my brother who is the family archivist.
I agree. You can scan them in then buy a hard drive. Or you can store them online on different websites. You can also buy a firebox and put your most important photos in those.
I could use help with getting rid of kitchen gadgets/equipment that I rarely use. Many things I only use around the holidays. I just decided to donate my stand mixer. It takes up too much counter space and I usually reach for the hand mixer. Yay! Thanks for the tip on electronics!
I really want to know how long can I use house items like pillows, bedsheets and even like water bottles or kitchen tools. I heard everything have expiry date but sometimes they seem to be fine to use. I'm confused. so, I'm requesting a video for checking expiry stuff and declutter household completely.
Tip for keeping an eye on canned food and making sure you consume it before it expires: My husband and I like to keep a couple of canned items on hand for those days when we happen to run out of fresh tomatoes, or have nothing else to make dinner and resort to canned beans. So, when we buy canned food, we put a calendar event for 1 month prior to its expiration date, with the name of the product. This way, we get a reminder well in advance of its expiration, we can use it and replace it with a fresh can, if we wish to. If we use it before the calendar reminder, we simply go into the calendar and remove it.
I need to toss everything...lol. I tossed out alot of cables and old Xmas decorations and now I freed up 2 more tote boxes. thank you I feel like my house is alot less full. less mess less stress
I have been working my way through media. Digitizes movies dvds, music cds and photos. Have albums for the dvds and cds tossed the cases (actually mailed them to a place to be recycled) the albums have placed for covers etc. For photos put ones to keep in photo carry case. Now working on scanning and photographing keepsakes, art work I kept from the kids and then will recycle all that paper. Mail is my biggest problem (email and paper) working on that too.
Each brother / sister in our family selected their favorite photos of their own family, made new 'scrapbook style' pages and put together a 'prize' family album for our dad's 85 th. He spent time every day browsing through the best photos of all his descendants. Names and ages were included.....there were over 30 of us descendants! When we selected we discarded the 'uglies', it was refreshing ! And we copied enough so each one got one, in case anyone has a fire or other disappearance!
PS... The 'favorites' family photo album makes a super gift ..AND if done right will DECLUTTER your photo collection ! Include only the best ! Give enough time to not pressure family members & allow 1 or 2 pages the most for each decendent. It was my dad's favorite gift ever! His history in pictures !!! =}
You have inspired me with the 10 things to toss series. I have 2 boxes full of cords and wires. Those boxes are on my toss list. I'm quite sure I will find things I actually use to put in the freed space.
Have to comment on the "Charlie Brown Christmas tree". So cute! Good detail, it made me LOL. :) Thank you for posting these videos; they are very helpful in helping me to keep up on things in our new mobile home!
I should probably declutter some old laptops... but I also need to make sure I've pulled anything useful off their HDD first... some of them might have important writing files on them. Even if it's a file I haven't touched since 2019... At least we DID go through the cables a couple months ago. Of course, when you have two computer geeks in the house, you get a LOT of cables & computer stuff. Oh, and since I crochet... scarves, blankets, hats, yarn....
Apparently I’m a tea hoarder! I’ve found two tea boxes/holders, and multiple boxes of unopened tea. And 😂😂😂 ‘I shudder to think!’ I’ve found so many of those too. Oh I LOL 😂 at the ‘creepy’ pics of Chad.
DVDs that I'm not going to watch again, odds and ends of stationery, winter clothes that I'm sick of, cosmetics that have been sitting around for a few months unused because I don't really like them, pyjamas which are faded or not that comfy... Needless to say I'm cleaning out the joint! Thanks Melissa! Cathy from Aus.
Chad's glasses.......hehehhee! 😎 I should go through old blankets, pillows, sheets, kitchen towels, bath towels, etc......I have way too much on the shelves not being used!
very satisfying to declutter! thus is one reason I love your channel. Any advice how to get children to go through stuff and declutter like this video!? They wanna keep everything!!!
I need to declutter because I just moved, but I'm so buy, how does one declutter in this busy life. I do want to thank you because I did Implement organization of my drawers. You guys are great.
Every other week I go thru every room looking for items, last week I took 2 large bags to the goodwill store. I have a big large plastic box full of pictures to do, is going to be a very sentimental to do. But need to be done! Any ideas about items like pots in the kitchen to keep or to donated? Love your videos, thanks, gracias, merci!!!
This year and the year before I decluttered my make-up bag ALL OF IT it was giving me break-outs...I keep just 1mascara thta for sure I will toss in a month or two.I took picturea of that shades and products I used. And toss cables, clothes(donate them),shoes (to big for me-not many ppl know my size...) and kitchen things that were broke. But this thing happens every two months....in my case. Anyway ... thanks for sharing and some stuff I didn’t know I can toss!
Another awesome video! Love the Star wars glasses! Where did you get that cool sign on your kitchen counter? The one you change the message on. I love it! It would be great to leave messages for my kids. Thanks!
There is not much to toss here anymore. 😄. A view weeks ago I have clean out all my closets, drawers, boxes etc and throw a lot of stuff away, also old electronics and old pictures. The things that other people could use I have give away and a lot of stuff is given to thriftstores. I even clean out my phone and computers. It feels great!
Hi Melissa,My name is Valerie I just watched all four 10 things to toss today videos. In the third video you toss Chad glass to donate pile and he took it back.My idea for you is for before you toss anything out take a picture of it.That way you have a picture to keep the memories and still get rid what you wanted to toss in the first place.and That way keeps Chad from sneaking it back in the house.
i have a lot of arts&crafts supplies. for example i have a box of paper napkins with different designs ~ 100 pieces. collecting them was a thing when i was in middle school, you could buy just one sheet from arts&crafts stores. i used a couple for decorating gifts with decoupage technique but i have so many left. i don't know what to do with them because i don't want to just throw them out but i wont use them and they just sit in a box... when i look at them i remember how j liked collecting them an there are a few with pretty patterns or design but i really don't know.
I have to clear out my books. Yes, I do read some books more than once, it's like visiting with an old friend. I really wanted to have my own library but have come to realize that that particular dream has died. Books take up a lot of space and all my bookcases are full and I could probably fill 3 or 4 more with all the books in boxes or piled around the house.
What do you need to toss from your home?
Yes! Old electronics! Old phones and computers 5:21 They're piling up because I don't know how to clear data from them. Once I figure that out, I'll find out where to recycle/dispose of them properly in my area.
Papers! Papers everywhere and it doesn't help that I'm an artist so most of it is my personal art clutter! Gah!
Clean My Space I second PAPERS!!!! i.e: old mail/Bank statements/kids' school projects... also I'm an artist too & can't seem to part with all my practice sheets that I've filled up :/ ...papers papers everywhere

I think this lovely lady needs to start a series of visiting other people's homes and show them how to clean them or help them get organized.
sc00b3rt I'd love to watch that!
haha, totally agree...come to my house first please! all the way over in Germany :D
Yes! And she can start with my house!
That's an awesome idea!
I would absolutely love to see this! Oh gosh, please do this!!

Agreed! When we moved, our "box of cables and wires" helped out when we were lacking some for our new home set-up.
yes, also if you have conversion cables, SAVE THOSE... or ebay them, people out there still need em.

Also ask schools if they can use them for collages or for second language classes.

my family and I are actually cleaning out the basement after a renovation, we didn't really get to look through things before.
This is great Kristina - way to go!!!
Clean My Space Thanks! and thanks for replying
I love your videos. I've started decluttering each time I clean a room. Two jobs at once!
Thanks for the tips!!
i think i'm enjoying watching these decluttering videos because it makes it feel like i've actually done it..... ;)
Pen obsession a natural part of life🤗🤗 keep old photos. You will appreciate them eventually. Digitise them all!!
I love your videos, all of them! I'm a big cleaning fan, and I love hearing some tips I've never heard before, so thank you~
Please post more of these videos Melissa, you are so helpful- thanks!
Been there, done that too.
Will never get tired of these types of videos!
Your format and explanations are always very motivating, too!
Recently had a huge clean out when we re did our bedroom floors - had to take everything out, so went through everything before it went back into the rooms. It's amazing how much junk we can hold on to.
Right now I'm working on decluttering our book collection and seasonal clothing. It's not just coats but also old sweaters, button-downs, etc.
Feels good to pass things on for sure - thanks for watching Rita!
Paperclips are the best!!!! For hanging up Chistmas lights, crocheting, general emergencies
i need to decluter everything and i plan on getting your book. Thanks for making it an ebook and putting it on google play!
Oh my... this episode, so hit on the things I need to declutter the most!. Awesome job.
Yay!!! Thanks so much for your support Valérie!
I am trying to search online for that giant yellow tea cup and saucer that is holding all the cables in the video. Any ideas as to where I can get one. I think it's so cute :) Thanks.
Type in : giant mug /cup i found some similliar
thank you so much for your videos! going through a move and nesting phase and these give me ideas and keep me motivated!
Really old stuffs that some people might not even know what they are:
radio with cassette tape player, radio with CD player, cassette player walkman, portable CD player, cassette tapes, VHS cassettes, mobile phones, cordless phones, dockets...
Dog stuff! Collars, leashes, sweaters, toys that are discussing! Seriously the list goes on & on!
I love it sooooo much!!! It has changed my life
Extra linens! Towels, wash cloths, sheets, pillowcases, curtains, etc
I need to toss my entire basement and garage.
You and me both sister!
I also need to toss old things from my basement and garage, like clothes, broken electronics, furniture, and flower bowls.
I emptied the basement, however a lot of that went into the garage.
Ah yes, the circle of life!
juliagoolia72 lol hahaha I got rid of most of my storage crap!
My fav is that you also look so clean and put together :) I usually look homeless while I’m cleaning house. I guess if i dressed up i might even be a bit more motivated to get the house looking as flawless as my outfit 😆
Love ur vidoes ..decluttered today ....intend to again tomorow. .thanks melissa
Wonderful show to watch on a Sunday morning with my coffee. Thank you!
Small appliances, bread machine that I never use, deep fryer, counter top rotisserie, coffee maker (went back to French press), toaster oven, etc. Pros and cons of whether I use it enough to keep it, and deciding whether there is an acceptable alternative that doesn't take up space.
you can get sharpie markers to work again, by adding rubbing alcohol to them.
Jaynizzy. You took the words right out of my mouth. Bless babies with them. 💕💕💕
How about a video on bookshelf organization? I have a huge bookshelf in my home where I put hoarded books and old sketchbooks that I NEED a good system for.
yes!! Good idea Emily I need that too...
I discovered your channel a few days ago and I cannot get enough
Don't toss your photos. A family member lost a lot of memories in a house fire. Share your photos. You will be surprised at family members that would love to have them. Pass them down the family line for a family tree. I loved my black and white photo of great-great-great grandma. But if you must, your choice.
Certainly not all photos need to be tossed - I was moreso referring to old photos which don't mean anything - or you don't even like - the ones that just take up space and have no sentimental value :) Thanks for watching!
Clean My Space yes and the digitizing is fantastic. My family uses one drive - we have everything on there, nothing can get lost in a fire.
Sandra Sutton we don't get rid of photos at my house all my family love photos .....your right..
Yes I have finished sorting all my photos. The grown up kids have theirs and I haved posted old family photos to my brother who is the family archivist.
I agree. You can scan them in then buy a hard drive. Or you can store them online on different websites. You can also buy a firebox and put your most important photos in those.
thank u thank u thank u you have inspired me to throw away stuff I like to keep everything and I needed these videos in my life!!!
Please do more “things to toss” videos! They are so helpful and give me ideas that I never even thought of.
Thank you ladies for your cleaning sprees. You keep me working!
got your book from barns and Noble here in Portland Oregon and loving it will read over and over again
I could use help with getting rid of kitchen gadgets/equipment that I rarely use. Many things I only use around the holidays. I just decided to donate my stand mixer. It takes up too much counter space and I usually reach for the hand mixer. Yay! Thanks for the tip on electronics!
Thanks for watching Kim!
I really want to know how long can I use house items like pillows, bedsheets and even like water bottles or kitchen tools. I heard everything have expiry date but sometimes they seem to be fine to use. I'm confused. so, I'm requesting a video for checking expiry stuff and declutter household completely.
This is an excellent idea - adding it to the list :)
Tip for keeping an eye on canned food and making sure you consume it before it expires:
My husband and I like to keep a couple of canned items on hand for those days when we happen to run out of fresh tomatoes, or have nothing else to make dinner and resort to canned beans.
I am loving your declutter video's. I just need to stop procrastinating ... lol. Books atm, they're everywhere !!!!!
Can you please do a video on how to store your cleaning equipment after you've finished cleaning! Xx
iam constantly tossing things and getting rid of things i dont use.love your tips thank u so much
I have been working my way through media.
Melissa, sometimes there are kitchen utensils, food processors, etc, really old and which we think 'we will use someday' but of course, we never do!
The kitchen seems to hide all sorts of clutter that never gets used!
Each brother / sister in our family selected their favorite photos of their own family, made
new 'scrapbook style' pages and put together a 'prize' family album for our dad's 85 th. He
spent time every day browsing through the best photos of all his descendants. Names and
ages were included.....there were over 30 of us descendants! When we selected we discarded the 'uglies', it was refreshing ! And we copied enough so each one got one, in case anyone has a fire or other disappearance!
PS... The 'favorites' family photo album makes a super gift ..AND if done right
will DECLUTTER your photo collection ! Include only the best ! Give enough
time to not pressure family members & allow 1 or 2 pages the most for each decendent. It was my dad's favorite gift ever! His history in pictures !!! =}
You have inspired me with the 10 things to toss series. I have 2 boxes full of cords and wires. Those boxes are on my toss list. I'm quite sure I will find things I actually use to put in the freed space.
LOVE IT!! Way to go :)
Have to comment on the "Charlie Brown Christmas tree". So cute! Good detail, it made me LOL. :)
Thank you for posting these videos; they are very helpful in helping me to keep up on things in our new mobile home!
Thank You this was very enlightening we all are guilty of having to much stuff,Hope you have a Great a weekend and God Bless!
I like your sense of humor!
Chad's glasses.......hehehhee! 😎
I should go through old blankets, pillows, sheets, kitchen towels, bath towels, etc......I have way too much on the shelves not being used!
I love the big cup and saucer.
very satisfying to declutter! thus is one reason I love your channel. Any advice how to get children to go through stuff and declutter like this video!? They wanna keep everything!!!
We will be working on a video series about that soon!
I love your big cup and saucer where can I get one.
I like the Canadian cover of your book the best Melissa.
Thanks!
We go through the Christmas Decorations as we set up in December and toss the old, outdated or broken items.
Way to go Linda!!
Wow, that sounds great. I'm still on my way of decluttering. You can be proud.
Bekki L Thank You, I am 😊
Yes I have been at it for about 3 months not far to go now.
❤❤❤ love it. Thank you Melissa xx
Where did you get the big yellow coffee up 😍😍😍? I have been looking for one!
Hi Melissa,My name is Valerie I just watched all four 10 things to toss today videos. In the third video you toss Chad glass to donate pile and he took it back.My idea for you is for before you toss anything out take a picture of it.That way you have a picture to keep the memories and still get rid what you wanted to toss in the first place.and That way keeps Chad from sneaking it back in the house.
for some reason I find it difficult tossing shoe boxes, even when I have nothing to put in them
i have a lot of arts&crafts supplies. for example i have a box of paper napkins with different designs ~ 100 pieces. collecting them was a thing when i was in middle school, you could buy just one sheet from arts&crafts stores. i used a couple for decorating gifts with decoupage technique but i have so many left. i don't know what to do with them because i don't want to just throw them out but i wont use them and they just sit in a box... when i look at them i remember how j liked collecting them an there are a few with pretty patterns or design but i really don't know.
Donate them - if you aren't using them they are not worth keeping - they are just taking up space!
