    On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
    If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

    1:38 You're right. Stealth isn't being invisible (remember the F-117 in Serbia) but hard to have a lock. So yes, they can see you with radars from the 40s (the Chain Home in England could have detected a stealth fighter) but they can only shoot at you at close range

    • @durandil
      @durandil Рік тому +6

      I wouldn't fight at low altitude, you lost all the benefits of stealth. If you fly high, even if the S-400 can see you, he can't shoot at you except if you are very close. Against the Su-35, you can shoot your AMRAAMs at long range, and you enemy can't shoot back because he has no lock.
      When you fly low, you have to come closer to the enemy, at a range where he can have a lock. Luckily for you, you had these hills but what if you hadn't ?

    They can see it as in with long wave non targeting radar, which just means they can scramble some keys to intercept but they can’t lock onto the F22 with a high frequency targeting radar.
    I have heard they’re trying to convince a low and high frequency system together though to have a higher probability of a weapons grade track.

    Have you ever set up a test range with each checkpoint being progressively further into s-400 threat rings and just super cruise at 40k feet and see how long it takes before the s-400 hits you?

    Flanker made a mistake. He pushed you into the mountains and he should have retreated back towards SAM site and pull you back to the open

    • @GrowlingSidewinder
      @GrowlingSidewinder  Рік тому

      correct, but also, I wouldn't have gone too far into the open I would have been forced to go home without a kill, but ya he'd at least be alive, and he would have defended his air space and forced me out with nothing to show for it, so he would have actually won.

    When going cold, is that simply disengaging or is is also killing the afterburner or engines entirely to limit your heat signature for incoming enemy missiles?

    The extent of being able to see stealth is covered by YTer "Sandboxx" who covers all things aviation. They can see the portion of the sky, say 45 degree part of a cylinder, and as you move they get a better idea of where you are. But target lock, nope. Sandboxx covers RCS and S400 specifics.

    Was just watching a few F22s and F16s at Nellis AFB yesterday. Holy Jesus the F22s are soooooooooooo much louder than the f16s and waaaaaay lower pitch than DCS demsontrates.
