I loved this performance. I remember watching it in 1997 when the concert was released on VHS. I watched it so much I wore the tape out. Thankfully it came out on DVD not too long afterwards. The way Sonny and Mark improvise at the end is just priceless. Another great reaction, thanks guys ♥
This finale is amazing. The talk between the guitars is awesome. From this same concert you have to listen to Gravy Train. It's an unreleased track that has some amazing guitar work by both Mark and Sonny Landreth. Simply fantastic.
Mark is just unmistakeable. The magic never subsides. I feel very fortunate to have known his music from the early 80s. Andre and Dominika your reactions make me smile.
Mark Knopfler is great performer he is one of the best guitarist ever loved the reaction best wishes another Mark Knopfler classic is called Going home well worth a listen
The whole 1996 tour was amazing ( this tv show was recorded just before the GH tour) especially for instance The Vaison Gig. This tune smoothly entered into Calling Elvis during the tour. I saw him in Prague in June 1996 and it was the first time I have seen MK live. Unbelievable experience
On the same concert, Mark and Sonny played an amazing version of "Gravy train", an extremely underrated b-side song from "Golden heart" album; check it out 👍👍
Hi, Andrei & Dominika, I love how you truly love the wonderful musical magician Mark Knopfler, and that you also enjoy watching David Gilmour. Sooo, I was reading a recent article about David that resonated with me as a diehard MK fan, and here is a verbatim extract that might interest you: “David Gilmour is an expert in both writing and recommending LPs that you should listen to. One in particular that caught his attention was the self-titled Dire Straits record……there is no escaping the fact that the amount the band (Dire Straits) managed to accomplish on their debut really is something. The record features ‘Sultans of Swing’, which is still one of their biggest songs to date. This album had a particular impact on David Gilmour, who doesn’t only call it their best album but one of the best albums he has ever heard “Mark Knopfler has a lovely, refreshing guitar style. He brought back something that seemed to have gone astray in guitar playing,” said Gilmour, discussing why he likes the album so much, “These days, I don’t listen to other people with the objective of trying to steal their licks. Although I’ve got no objections to stealing them if that seems like a good idea. I’m sure that I’m still influenced by Mark Knopfler.” High praise from one of Marks peers. I❤MK
The " Golden Heart " album is a must have for people who enjoy brilliant lyrics and instrument rich music. I have both the CD and DVD concert ,the great thing about the concert is Mark explains where he got the idea for the songs which added to the enjoyment.
As a Cajun French woman, love this song (I'm sorry) and Dominica's excellent pronunciation. Most people that aren't French don't pronounce French words well. Maybe one day y'all can react to some Cajun/NOLA music, like Buckwheat Zydeco, Tee Nah Nah or Louis Armstrong (Jazz) What a Wonderful World, and so many others. We had a DA (in office for 30 years) that my Daddy played music with (back in the day) and he was an excellent musician. I would like to think, most people that haven't heard our music might enjoy it, as much as we do. Y'all be blessed ✌️✌️
J'aime les Acadiens et toute cette population de la Louisiane et Nouvelle-Orléans. Quel courage et optimisme à toute épreuve y compris après ces grands malheurs que la nature vous à envoyée. Love you all.
You reacted to some great songs from Golden Heart, and the Night In London concert, but one of the highlights still waits for you, that is the song 'Rudiger'. If you do it, make sure to stick to the live version, no matter what 😃 it's fantastic. So nice to see you enjoy these songs which some of us grew up with. Keep up the good work, and the DS/MK reactions ❤
Thank you for your lovely reaction to this wonderful song! Love the Cajun influence in sound, lyrical storytelling and the amazing guitar duet between Mark and Sonny Landreth.
You guys are very nice. There are a couple songs, in a specific version still to be reviewed: planet of new orleans (live Brussels '91) and Tunnel of love (Wembley '85). Easy tears....
Espectacular
Mark has to be one of the best guitar players ever. Yes, the GOAT.

Great song and awesome jamming at the end with MK and SL
Sonny Landreth is the name of that slide guitarist. Rated as one of the best slide guitarists in the world.

pls dont miss " a night in summer long ago " in the same live performance! such a good song😘
Je suis desolé aussi...I would like time come back to appreciate all about Dire straits when they on The streets yet...❤❤❤❤

The album version is gorgeous as well.
Thanks for this reaction. Is Sonny Landreth on slide Guitar!
You might try Shooting For The Moon or Blue Tarp Blues by Sonny Landreth, both feature Mark.
