I back tested this strategy 100 times and carefully followed all the rules. I won 44 and lost 56. This is still above the breakeven threshold (33.3%) but I did want it to be higher. There were a lot of times when I made multiple trades when the Macd line and signal line were pretty much horizontal, near the zero line, and consistently close to each other and passing each other (I made a simulated trade each and every time they passed each other in the right direction). Do you think that is something I should avoid? Each of those times it felt like a weak situation. Also, there were times when I had to wait around 30 or 40 candles for the crossover to happen after the divergence occurred. I counted them as well in my testing. Should there maybe be a limit to how many candles you have to wait after the divergence before the crossover occurs? Thank you.
Great video. Yeah, this's one of the best strategies out there. But it's one of the hardest. You need to practice and backtest it a lot. But it's possible to make successful trades with it.
Just a question, for the 1 min timeframe what EMAS do you suggest? I personally set the parameters to EMA50(5 min) and ema50(15 min), is it good in your opinion? thanks
Hey man love this video but i have some questions: why do you include the wicks of the bars when you draw the divergence line on the chart and simetimes you dont ? and should we only consider swing highs/swing lows or just regular highs/lows. thanks in advance =)
Sir, Regarding Daily or 4 hour S/R(support/resistance) levels, Forex --do these levels deflect price 60% of times?--and if so why not put standing orders at the start of each day in few currencies(each order with take profit & stop loss) and let the statistical edge play out. It may be safer to just work with daily S/R levels but 4 H levels would give many more executions. And if one happens to be watching price action at the level LIVE then combine it with overbought/oversold stochastics/cci to confirm price deflection chances. Yes Higher time frame for direction. I seek your ideas.
This is great - thank you. One question I have is - is there a way to filter stocks on tradeview with the 15 above over and macd below? The model is sound finding the stocks is hard. Thanks
Just tested it on Bitcoin chart in a period of 2 weeks. It gave me 4 entries. 1 win 3 loses. Wouldn't be happy with that, after 2 weeks staring at the screen.
Question: In a bull scenario, do the candles need to stay between the two EMAs (below the 15 min EMA and above the 1 hr EMA) for this set up? I'm finding some set ups for this strategy, but in some cases, the candles are breaking above the 15 min EMA or are fully above it. Love your videos BTW. They're very helpful.
Does the divergence have to happen within the same trading day? Or can the divergence happen across 2 trading days? I just found a setup but the divergence is from Monday afternoon to Tuesday morning. I’d love to know if that makes any difference in whether to place the trade or not. Thanks!
@@damdarhudaii1911 this is called not to be "one trick Pony". You do not rely on one strategy only, but on many, so you can find more entries from different perspectives.
Is it just reliable on the 5 min time frame ? If it work on higher time frames Should weadjust the settings for higher time frame? Hope you'll answer me Big fan of your work thank you for you high quality content
But after match, and back testung everything looks good an perfect.... but the idea is live there lag indicators are bot really usefull... and live is a different world
Hi thanks for the video it’s very good . Please could you give the win rate and time it took to complete say 100 trades . Also please test it on the Nasdaq if you could .
Most welcome! Unfortunately, I haven't saved the backtest results, but if I am not mistaken, win rate was around %60 with R:R ratio of 2 which is more than perfect. I don't remember the time, but since the strategy doesn't give many entry signals, I had to test with multiple pairs
May be am asking very naive question. 1) In our Indian charting software, we find 9 day, 26 day EMAs. We dont find 15 min, 1 hr EMAs. Am I missing something? 2) What is the importance of divergence in this video? Can't we ignore it & yet be profitable?
Thank you for your questions! 1) We are not using the standard EMA, you need to download multi-timeframe EMA (MTF EMA) to your charting software. 2) It is a divergence strategy, so yes, you will need divergence :)
I backtested this strategy in 3 min Timeframe in Crypto n i got good calls thanks for the strategy
Glad to hear that!
Waiting for the Macd Divergence video by you!! Good content. Highly recommend traders to check out the content, so underrated ah this channel.
So glad, there are people willing to share their knowledge and experience in trading. Its all about the details.. 👍
Glad you think so!
Tradingview screener settings plz
I'm no expert in pine script. If anyone scripted this strategy please share the strategy for backtesting! Thanks in advance 😊
amazing and fantastic strategy bro...millions thanks...keep uploading with NEW AND BACKTESTED STRATEGY....God BLESS
Thank you, I will!
Thanks a million for your invaluable video... it's just wonderful
So nice of you
Good job 👏
Thanks!
Can you share the tool with which you calculate the risk reward ratio!
It is the long&short position tools which you can find on tradingview

Bro how long does it take to do 100 trades I feel like I can only find 1 setup a day
Thank you
can I do it at 1 min time frame?
Sir make a intraday strategy for Indian stock market ..... please sir 🙏
I m big fan of yours... ❤️❤️❤️
I don't trade Indian stock market but my strategies can be used for it after backtesting.
@@TradingJournal1 Ok
Thank you for nice video. Could you explain why lines can't touch the zero line? I'm curious about the principle.

Yes, I usually use 20 and 50 EMAs while trading the 1-min frame
Sorry, I have not understood what mtf emas do you use for the 1 minute chart
(And what timeframes for the settings)
It seems legit bro, but what about the macD setting, which timeframe and period do u use?
I will try this on crypto
Please feel free to share your backtest results

Hello @TradingJournal1 when i use the MACD indicator i am actually getting the opposite of the second rule. Please what am i doing wrong?

this stragety only suitable for 5 minu frame or any other time frame?
I don’t understand how profits can be made when going against trading fees doing this method?
Of course trading fees play a huge role in your long-term win ratio. Please add them to your backtestes and try to use a broker with low fees
Excellent video. I’m not a day trader. How do you set up this strategy for swing trading?
Same strategy but you have to use the same multiplier depending on the time frame
Thanks
What about 15 min timeframe , can we use ?
This is great - thank you. One question I have is - is there a way to filter stocks on tradeview with the 15 above over and macd below? The model is sound finding the stocks is hard. Thanks
Not that I know of. Please tell me if you find a way to do that in Ttadingview
Thank you for sharing this video
My pleasure!
is it possible to trade options with this strategy ?
Only after you back test it yourself :)
u are awesome sir
You're welcome!
Good strategy
glad it was helpful :)
Make tutorial macd divergence
Noted! Will try soon
Did you take any hidden divergence trades when you backtested this strategy?
Just tested it on Bitcoin chart in a period of 2 weeks. It gave me 4 entries. 1 win 3 loses. Wouldn't be happy with that, after 2 weeks staring at the screen.
Hahahha straight up
The dude you recommended took his MTF Ema script down
This works for crypto currencies too right?
Yes, but don't take my word for it and backtest it yourself :) 📈
What is a pip?
price interest point
ex: 1.1015 plus 10 pips is 1.1025
How do u find +2 pip in 2 decimal places as I trade in?

Hmmm... I finally followed Ann's advice and took MagpieCash. It's great for beginners and has some advanced stuff too.
So it's like damn near impossible to find a setup

It can happen on 2 different trading days. Instead of counting days, it can be better to count candlesticks and trade if it occurs within 28 candles.
Good information ❤️
Glad you think so!
multi timeframe baby oh yeah
I trade on the hourly chart how will I set it
can we use this strategy
in crypto?
Yes, but only after a backtest
is this possible also for crypto???
You should backtest it first!
How can I setup this on Mt4 or Mt5 on android
Sorry, I am not familiar with MT4 on android
Love this strategy. Can you advise if you use the same 2 MTF EMA settings regardless of the timeframe candles?
Can you do this live? :)
Noted!
Please make a video on MACD divergence.. Thank You

You don't need MTF
H1 EMA 50 equals M5 EMA 600
M15 EMA 50 equals M5 EMA 150
