Man that mortiser, tenoner and spindle moulders are beasts of machines (and the panel saw of course, but that one is more common :P). I would like an origin story! Like these machines are not just a hobby, you've got to be in the business of furniture making with these! Want to see some big projects too! :)

    •  3 роки тому +2

Hi Dirk you are correct it used to be a joinery business but due to some reasons including ill health it is now just a hobby and for youtube. If things go well the projects will get bigger don't worry 😉

Great job Tommy, it's nice to see some proper mortice and tenon joinery instead of dominos that alot of youtubers use 👌

Couldn't agree more there are craftsmen and then there are novice woodworkers, sadly youtube doesn't differentiate between the two

Ahhhh, brilliant! Was wondering at first how you’d make the footing work with the fold… love it. That was all I was lacking on my own folding gate and wasn’t sure how to do it!
    Thank you!! 💯🤘🏻

Its good practice to mortise from the outsides to the centre, that way you won't bend the mortise chisel
A mask would be useful when routering too

    •  3 роки тому

I agree when using 6mm bit and chisel but with a good quality 10mm or 12mm bit and chisel bending them isn't an issue so not as important to get concerned about even cuts. Yes I should have worn a mask but pine isn't that dusty so I be ok 👌

Can you make a similar video using common hand tools I don’t even have a sander. 😢

  • @TomTrees

Could do with changing that intro a bit, I keep thinking I hit a wrong button
as that sounds like music which gets paired with the computer voice.
    All the best
    Happy new year

I have a new intro in the making 🙂

So was that just clear silicone caulking to hold the bolt for the feet in? Also what was the part you were grinding off the bolt. Was it the threads just at the tip or where the feet rest so the can move more freely. Thanks

    •  2 роки тому

Hi Alex, It was a clear construction adhesive I used and I was just grinding any burrs etc off the ends of the threaded rod

This isn’t a diy this is what me use all these tool most people looking for help don’t have…

    •  10 місяців тому

I never said it was diy I just showed how I built it using the tools I have. A creative person would use the idea and come up with methods to make it using the tools that they have. Woodworking is not an exact science everything has several different ways to achieve similar results

Just use a dog chain then no barrier needed
