  • Hey guys! Lapel Pins are everywhere and quite difficult to find plus they are expensive as well! So here's a method using glue gun, very inexpensive and simple to do! Have fun :D
    Buy all materials here:
    GLUE GUN : amzn.to/2gBAwdK
    GLUE GUN STICKS : amzn.to/2fKnYPp
    ACRYLIC COLORS : amzn.to/2fU5BVO

Another way to make these pins are by:
    1. Drawing your design on a piece of paper
    2. Get Plastic That is #6 (You can get it from your local Bakery)
    3. Put your plastic on top of your design/drawing and trace it
    4. Color it (Sharpies or Colored Pencils work)
Put it in the oven for 1-3 minutes at about 180 C° Im not sure The degrees
    5. Watch the satisfaction as It shrinking.
(Forgot to mention, when you do your drawing it must be 3x bigger than you want it to be when it shrinks.)
    6. If you did not have Sharpies or Colored Pencils you can now paint it
    7. Attach a pin to the back of it with any strong Glue
    8. Enjoy
    *Please Do not hate*

    My personal Favourite DIY!!!
    Thanks for watching guys ^_^
Some things I want to say :
These are actually brooches and not lapel pins. Guess i was confused. But you get my point right :P
Also, I pronounced decoupage so wrong gosh I'm embarrassed xD so pls excuse me for that.
    FAQs:
**Can we use another glue instead of HOT GLUE:
-you can use fevicol but fevicol takes too long to dry and won't be sturdy enough. you can try though.
**is there an alternative to decoupage?
-Yes, you can apply a layer of fevicol over your finished product but your pin won't be water resistant so take care of that. You can also use Clear nailpolish
**Can we skip the decoupage/sealing part.
-I suggest, if you want your pin to last longer, you should seal it

If you'd like a flatter surface, there are a couple of ways to manage that with hot glue. For small designs like this, press the top side of a ceramic tile or a small sheet of glass large enough to cover the design (and hopefully keep your fingers safe, too) and press it. To really have a flat covering of glue, lay cut pieces of glue stick made for a hot glue gun over your design. This works best if you do a rough cut out of your design first. Place design and the glue stick bits on a sheet of parchment paper, folding the parchment paper over your design. Frame two sides (inside the parchment paper) with skewers, so you'll have a uniform thickness, and iron. If you use too much glue, it will escape and leak onto whatever's beneath the parchment paper, so have a care for how much you place on top.
The iron could also be used to "fix" the surface of the pins after you've laid the glue down the way she shows you in the video. When you finish coating it with glue, lay down your skewers on two sides inside a folded sheet of parchment paper and run the iron over it. The lumpy surface of these pins had me twitching over what is a very cute and imaginative way to make your own pins!
