Right?!? It's SOOOO GOOD... just rewatched the whole thing less than a month ago and it reminded me how underrated the show still is. In the top tier of HBO series, just under Sopranos and Deadwood, imo.

I know Richard Harrow gets a lot of love but my favorite character in the series Nelson Van Alden and Michael Shannon was phenomenal. He’s character arc has to one of the best in the series

One of my all-time favorite series... and you used one of my favorite songs as backing! 🥰😍 Just rewatched the whole series about a month ago to remind myself how incredible it is. The only HBO series that I rank higher are Sopranos and Deadwood... (would LOVE a Beauty Of Deadwood, btw!)
Always amazed me how peope underrate Boardwalk Empire. Not only is it photographed and directed beautifully, it features some of my all-time favorite characterizations: James Darmody, Nucky Thompson, Chalky White, Eli Thompson, Richard Harrow, Arnold Rothstein, Al Capone, Lucky Luciano, Gillian Darmody, Nelson Van Alden, Dr. Narcisse, Margaret Thompson, Myer Lansky, Gyp Rosetti, The Commodore, and on and on.... incredible writing for incredible actors!

@@hboman2638 As far as I'm concerned, it's in a photo finish for greatest series of all time with Sopranos. Every time I watch one or the other, I think "that's the greatest TV show ever!"
At certain times I even like Boardwalk more than Sopranos, there are some peaks in this series that are too good to believe that it isn't remembered.

This show is so underrated. When i accidentally saw the trailer, i got hooked and finished the whole thing in 2 days, this is so good.
This one show that frustratingly never felt like it reached its full potential.

Fantastic series!! Was just telling a lad at work about this show yesterday. Loved it.
Back when TV shows had movie-level cinematic quality and shot on panavision super 35 (Boardwalk Empire, Deadwood, 24, Lost, Band of Brothers, Prison Break, Alias, Smallville).

Being controversial here, in my opinion, if Peaky Blinders was good, it would be called Boardwalk Empire!

Literally writing a video essay on this. Peaky Blinders is 'cool' and pretty (season one was solid), Boardwalk Empire is one of my top five all time favourite shows.
Peaky Blinders is hella overrated and really mid. The characters are boring and there is little to no depth in the show. It's just a bunch of british gangsters trying to be sigma and cool to appeal to edgy teen boys.
Boardwalk Empire is a character study of fucked up characters. The characters are not introduced as cool gangsters, but as vulnerable and fucked up people. Take Richard for example, he is a character with a lot of vulnerability to him. His voice and manurisms are that if a broken man.

Ugh, this show had one of the worst endings ever, but unlike other shows that overstayed their welcome, like Dexter, this show's ending being as bad as it was could be attributed to being too rushed and abrupt. I feel like it needed a full 12-episode Season 5 along with a follow-up full 12-episode Season 6 to give us ideal closure. My ideal Season 5 would have focused on Nucky Thompson trying to throw every monkey wrench he could into FDR's presidential campaign only to fail miserably, and then Season 6 would have focused on Nucky watching his bootlegging empire he built over the course of the series crumble under the weight of Prohibition's repeal, and him fading away into nothingness. That would have been infinitely better than the ending we got...
