Several times during the fourth film. I thought to myself "this is one of the most gorgeous movies I've seen in ages."
The set pieces were grandiose like few other movies nowadays.
The set and the frames were very good, the fighting and choreography very bad
I can say that the fourth has the best cinematography of the entire saga and at least deserves an Oscar nomination...

It's so weird that I am only now looking back at those movies and realizing just how GORGEOUS they all looked. The cinematography in this franchise is incredible.
The John Wick franchise has to be the most beautiful action franchise I've seen. The visuals, choreography & worldbuilding is pristine.
One word: Perfection
The first film is still my fave in this series 🔥
No dialogues, that makes the action look full, in John Wick4, it makes it more impressive

John Wick Chapter 4 is most likely one of the most beautifully shot films I've seen period. Incredible work by Dan Laustsen.

I just rewatched the franchise. It's the only one where each movie surpasses the previous one in all aspects.
What's crazier is that the forth movie did not only surpass the third, it actually surpassed itself; the first hour was already great, the second was somehow even greater. And the third surpassed every expectation i had for cinema as a whole.
What a crazy ride
Respectfully disagree, the first movie is still the best one and chapter 3 is the worst.
I'll be honest, I'm a fan of the action genre, but in millions of movies of the same genre there are some great ones and some bad ones.
But there was one franchise that caught my eye, and it was hard to ignore a series that has good fight choreography, bright and engaging cinematography, and includes the revenge-seeking motif that we can all relate to.
And it also made Keanu Reeves famous, who became recognized for being John Wick and much more than his Neo character.
The 3 are very good, the 4 for me is the best of the saga, the cinematography is amazing and it deserves an Oscar for the fourth part.

Keanu Stallone Tom took action to whole different level and now we have some really good new ones like extraction

@@mrcomment5544to be fair, before John Wick Keanu was pretty much written off and almost none of his films were acclaimed or successful at the box office for many years. John Wick almost single-handedly brought him back to A-list status.

Definitely one of the best good looking action franchises of all time, the photography is absolutely stunning in every single scene.
Cinematography is just breathtaking as Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski is THE helluva Director. Hands down.

I'm not even into movies like this but I've seen the fourth movie literally four times in my local theater, so glad it's finally out on streaming so I can rewatch it four times more

It's like John has come to accept what's coming for him and he's no longer afraid of death.
The blue light was safety for him, the red light was danger. Now John has reached is self actualization and has found a sense of peace from it.
Watching Chapter 4 on the big screen was one of the best experiences I have ever had. Many frames made me think that this should pause here, and it'll be a gorgeous wallpaper.
This might just be the greatest action series ever made. And your ability to capture the simple but unique beauty of the scenery never fails to impress me.

John Wick is the best action franchise probably ever. At the very least of the last decade. Even bangers like The Raid or Extraction just can't compete. There's levels to this shit. And John Wick has elevated all of them.

just pure badass for both of the franchises.
The JW series felt like a black and white film turning into color. The first carried a dark and grimey feel, fitting for its introduction. Then each one after got brighter and brighter. Upgrading in everything from the last. Crazy work ethic from the whole team.
The Cinematographie in the John Wick movies is gorgious. And this video is a masterclass in building tension, from start to Finish. Keep going Dude, you are a great Editor!

The first and fourth are the most beautifully shot in the series to me. They’re unlike anything else in the action genre. It’s a shame the fourth didn’t get an Oscar nom. It was deserving of one.
