The living room looks so good, Lanchen! You look like a host of a old timey spooky show or something (in the best way)! Thank you for all the book recs. I definitely enjoyed Bunny, I think it would be a fantastic movie. My Autumn reading recommendations (if anyone's interested) are: The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater (an AMAZING read all year round but the last book epecifically is set in Autumn I believe, and it's just so good. I always say these books are YA - but a really good YA even if you don't tend to like YA books, like me - Dark Academia 101), The October Country by Ray Bradbury (a collection of spooky short stories), Fantastic Mr. Fox (a children's classic), The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern (magical realism, beautiful language, something about magical circuses fits the Autumn/spooky vibe for me), Frankenstein by Mary Shelley (a monster horror classic), the Cirque Du Freak series by Darren Shan (a YA series that has vampires, other magical beings, and a circus setting), Family Curse: Field Notebooks by Tenacity Plys (a short spooky novella), basically any book by Neil Gaiman but especially The Graveyard Book, Coraline and The Ocean at the End of the Lane, The Resurrectionist: The Lost Work of Dr. Spencer Black by E. B. Hudspeth (a spooky story of a Dr. Frankenstein-esque mad scientist, visually absolutely STUNNING - basically half of the book is an anatomical atlas of fantastical beings, I recommend at least looking it up online), Edgar Allen Poe's writing, Carpe Jugulum by Terry Pratchett (a super clever, witty and amazingly written fantasy, part of a series but can be read as a standalone, basically local witches vs vampires trying to take over the little kingdom where they live, one of my all time favourite books), Bouquet by Karel Jaromir Erben (a collection of folk short stories from 19. century, many of them pretty folk horror), Macbeth by William Shakespeare. I could go on but I'll stop myself :D Have a great spooky season, everyone!
OMG SO MANG BOOK RECOMMENDATIONS!!!! 😍😍😍😍 thank you!!! Some of these are in my TBR for this month but some I don’t know which is exciting 🥰 thanks so much for taking the time to share all those out
@@justlanchenOh, no problem at all, haha! Autumn and books are amongst my favourite things in the world so this was good fun! Always happy to talk about books 😊 If you happen to read any of these, I’d love to hear your opinions. Hope you have a wonderful Autumn 🍂🤎🎃
Thank you so much for this list! You listed some I've never heard of. Currently reading Bunny and I'm so happy to hear that it continues to be as good as it is from the jump!
what a vibe with that background and your recommendations were soo good! Definitely buying The saturday night ghost club :D also thinking about Our crooked hearts!
Ooooo, instantly subscribed! You've done an absolutely fantastic job 👏 you've really hit that vibe right on the head. I can only dream of having my booktube channel this... immaculate!! 🎉
I am still in the middle of reading Vengeful, a sequel to Vicious by VE Schwab which I started thanks to your recommendations ❤ I am planning to read Bunny and Babel after that but its always good to have more recommendations in store I'll see what else I'll check out - thanks to you I found so many good books, movies and series so thank you so much
Have you read Dracul ? I just stumbled upon your channel and instantly fell in love with the vibes. Since you love Dracula, you'll definitely enjoy Dracul by Dacre Stoker and J D Barker. Don't know if you've already read, it but I think it's a great autumn read.
There were so many unknown books to me in this video! Thank you so much for bringing them to my attention and for making my tbr list overflowing with amazing books! 😍 I'm also obsessed with the vibe of your room!!
I love this video!!! Thank you for recommending so many new books I hadn’t hear of. Which I’ve been adding to cart and god reads. I have you mentioned that I haven’t read yet but will start pretty soon. Near witch. Irregular witches, Dracula. And so glad you came back to mention more books. I love your background and dark academia vibes. ☕️🕯️📚
Hi thank you for the recommendations, I have made a lot of notes :) You probably have watched the Pale Blue Eye already, but in case you haven't, thought you may like it.
Thank you for recommending Twilight !!! I have a feeling there are more people who act like 😮💨😑 and I do like it so so much. The long-title-book with Sherlock in it sounds really interesting [ I like Sherlock spin-of or hybrids]. 🤗
Oh man, my bank account about to take a MAJOR hit, LOL! And Robin Cook is an M.D., which is why his novels all have medical plots and a lot of times based on real hospital issues/events/etc. Also, as others mentioned this backdrop is PERFECTION for this video!
The Saturday Night Ghost Club isn't really scary/horror at all, but an excellent summertime coming of age story. For actual horror along these lines of coing of age over the summer check out Summer of Night by Dan Simmons or Boy's Life (cant remember author's name right off).
I oh man I definitely found parts of it spooky and when Jake is talking about his present day job in detail it grossed me out so bad even though it was interesting 😂 Oooooo, I’ll definitely check out those books you mentioned though !!
Such a good video and the recommendations are great but I can't stand the word "unalive". I don't think UA-cam has the same censoring as TikTok when it comes to words like "murder".
yea I actually don't know the restrictions either. I watch a lot of documentary UA-camrs and they never say the word so I decided to start censoring it just in case
Watching this I actually feel like we are sitting in the Gryffindor's common room and you're telling us a story! You're good!
🥰🥰🥰
The unicorn in the back is actually a wall hanging that can be seen in the common room.....
(Meaning I think it's very much intentional)
yes! you're right 🥰🥰🥰 @@nina5318
I'm completely obsessed by the atmospheres of the background. You nailed it!
Thank you so much!!

Oooo no I haven’t!! I’m going to watch it now though!!
The haunting of hill house actually gave me nightmares. It's not so scary but it works on you psychologically
Thanks for all the great suggestions!
Have you read a slow fire burning by Paula Hawkins? Also into the water by Paula Hawkins. I felt like these two were very good.

Dead of Winter by Darcey Coates is good
I don't about it ever becoming a movie but Deadlands is a rpg.
OMG I JUST LOOKED IT UP AND IT IS BASED ON IT
I have to play now! Thank you so much for telling me this hahah
