Would you consider the new Sigma 18-50 DC DN RF lens for the C70 when it is available in place of the Sigma (EF) 24-70? Covers the S35 sensor of the C70, way smaller and a native mount. Would love to hear what you think of that upcoming lens.
This is such a helpful video, thanks Brock! I've got the sigma and 85mm already on my list, looking for an anamorphic now. Do you think the sirui t2.9 RF mount will do much better than the EF mount 50mm on speedbooster? Those are the two anamorphic options I'm looking at right now and can't decide between.
Funny thing is I have an R5C and I bought a R6 Mark II but returned it because I did not want long GOP 4K60. Just does not edit well on my Windows machine and I didn't want to spend $2,000 bucks on a camera that I didn't like. Now I bought the C70 and I'm really not sure how much I like it. Honestly like my R5C better but the battery life and ND filters plus professional audio and miles and miles of other features of the C70. The frame size is really what's killing me because none of my RF glass really looks great and I'll have to make too many sacrifices.
Super 35 is wildly used all across Hollywood & a lot of times preferred so it’s not an issue with the camera or the glass. I just the C70 for 95% of what I do and it’s absolutely killer. I do use the speedbooster most of the time with EF glass. I’m not that invested in the RF system. C70 produces an image that’s MUCH more filmic than something like the R5C or most mirrorless cameras. They will be sharper but more clinical. All about what you are looking for.
@@BrockRoberts yeah like I said I haven't had enough experience with the camera to comment on the quality yet. I'm still going through the motions of trying to figure out the best glass to use. Size of the sensor matters there for me. Not worried about the size of the sensor otherwise. Just bought two cinema super 35 lenses for my R5C. Now I will be using those with my C70. I just am a little bit confused on the best lens to use if I don't have any EF Glass.. doesn't really make sense to invest in EF unless I need it. I wish I could have done a little bit more research before I purchased the camera but sometimes it seems like you don't find out about the negatives of Canon cameras until you watch 15 or 20 different reviews. It never comes out in the first few ones you watch. I wanted 4K 60 in intra frame so I could use for Slow Mo or "b-roll" I suppose I don't really have that big of an issue as I can just use the R5C for 4K60. That being said I probably would have been fine with the R6 mii. I ended up getting the C70 without paying any taxes and It is an exceptional camera. Just at four years old and s35 sensor size plus drawbacks are things I wasn't expecting. I know I sound like a spoiled brat but I'm going to make some amazing stuff with this camera. Just need to figure out the perfect lens I'm going to throw the 24 to 70 on it Right now I'm just getting back from work.
@@BrockRoberts yeah looking back on what I said 12 hours ago I was pretty much a spoiled baby brat. The image this camera produced literally shocked me so much I could cry....
Hello👋, thank you for your interesting video, please tell me, I want to buy the same Canon EF 85 mm f/1.4 IS lens as yours. I also have a Canon C70. I'm interested in the question, how noisy is it? Is there any autofocus noise? Since I have a microphone nearby Thanks Cordially
What are you favorite lenses??
The Sigma 18-35 f1,8 is awesome
@@paulloth agreed!! Great choice.
Sigma 24-70 & Ef 85 1.4 🤌🏾
My favorite two lenses.
@@RockyMaiviaMiami they’re the best!
RF 15-35 2.8, RF 24-70 2.8 + EF 16-35 f4 + speedbooster - I dont need anything else...

I’ve never used the EF version on the speed booster so I’m not 100% sure
Great choices. That 85mm is clutch. Not my favorite, but still clutch.
Yessir! Definitely more of a specialized lens but I still love it!
Nice video bro my fav lens is the Helios on the C70!
Nice! I’ve heard good things!

It’s pretty quiet. Shouldn’t be an issue!
As always you should try it first. It is noisier then RF lenses. But I don't think it's a big deal. The noise is pretty decent... but it is there.
Will the SIRUI 50 mm T2.9 1,6X work on the C70? C70 is Super 35mm. Dont you need a full frame sensor to make the anamorphic lens work?
No, it will work just fine!
How does the autofocus work with the Sigma 24-70?
Works great! I have zero issues!
How do you compare 100 mm macro to 85? Is macro more universal or 85 has just something about it?
I just prefer the look of the 85mm for some reason. 100mm is a little too tight at times
No more Meike primes?
I still have my 35mm. Just find myself using it less and less these days.
Don't forget to say these lenses focal lenght are x0.71. Your 85mm is a 60mm😉
Actually not really…lol it’s a true 85mm with the focal reducer. 85mm without the focal reducer is more like 125mm.
Ah OK. You use it without reducer ?
@@guillaumedelarre1725 no I use it with the reducer so it’s a true 85mm!
