Just had an opportunity to see this before our 2021-2022 school year. What happened to those teachers he are talking about, I remembered growing up in 1st grade when the teacher would tell us face the front of the classroom, because she was washing a child up and putting them on clean clothes and during little girls hair. My God what happened to the teachers that had a passion and the love of teaching. This is soooo good I am going to share with my grandkids.
Heard about his speaking ability while he was in Michigan at a conference for WIC. This is "Real Talk". Hope his message is taken seriously by Educators, Students, and Parents. Great points made in many areas of life.
Did his outfit kill seeds? Were his clothes inappropriate? Did his clothing keep him from speaking or make him flunk out in life? What about behavior, what about character or heart? What's up with all this judgement? Is there really anything wrong with hip hop or Black cultures in general? This isn't the same Adolph that is selling off Gulluh Geechee lands is it?
It is the one part of his talk I don't feel comfortable with.... I'm not judging my students by their clothes but by their actual actions. Now, I have no problem with schools having dress codes. Just have real talk with them and let them know for example that if they go into a bank for a loan, the loan officer might judge them based on their dress
