- Hey welcome back, just testing out the new GENOME amp suit from Two Notes Engineering.
It's one massive plugin with so many features and goodies. I guess for me what's most important is that it sounds fantastic.

Nice waking up to this in the states. Thank you
They gave it away for free if you owned literally anything from them it seems and had it registered, really cool and great it works with NAM.
What is NAM? I don’t know that acronym. 🤔
@@JohnPArgueta Neural Amp Modeler, open source profiling software
Yes, you are right! I´ve just checked my account and there it was. Thank you.
Dude! Those “.....Justice for All” tones on the clean Bassman were amazing!! Great playing as well!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
The fact that it supports NAM captures in the Amp block is a gamechanger. This thing will take off.
The way you make these videos is actually very "educational". I've learned a lot about tweeking sounds from your video's. Thanks for sharing and caring about good tones.
Great tone and playing as always! This new app sounds cool.
I have been using NAM more than my real amps because it sounds so good, and it's as simple as just plugging in and playing. Genome added every feature I have ever wanted in NAM. This is by far the greatest thing Two Notes has ever done, and probably the greatest thing for music production in the last 5 years.
@@gsupersport6383 Neural DSP and Bogren are not better than some of the NAM models out there. And, the implementation of NAM is what I am basing my opinion of Genome on.
Hi, what are the best amps you have found so far in NAM?
@@gerrydaly5409 there are some rev f models and an Uberschall model on Tonehunt that are my go to.
I just received this software yesterday and wanted a quick overview of its capabilities. Nice work and you showed me exactly what I was looking to find out in regard to it making decent metal tones. Love the NAM integration and it’d be awesome for you to make NAM captures when you get your tones in place. Thanks for the great video.
I installed this recently. I got an email saying as a long standing customer my licence has been upgraded to include Genome. I think they just gave it to me for free, but I did wonder if it's just a demo. Nope. Seems to be a full licence. Cool.
I mucked about with turning the stomp and amp models off and just using the cab and post FX models with my Friedman IR-X. I tihnk I might like the sound better than just running WOS, although I have not worked out how to set up stereo cabs yet. The studio reverb is quite nice too.
P.S. I was also messing about with a real amp last weekend. I changed the circuit a little, so it's now lead spec JMP. 1987. My nephew just smashed out some AC/DC riffs at well over 100 decibels and it left us grinning for the rest of the afternoon.
It sounded amazing and made me a bit less enthralled by the IR-X. The amp just has so, so much more weight and heft to the notes. The IR-X is very cool mind you and sounds great, but sounds small in comparison once it goes into DAW (plugins tend to sound small too -- an amp miked or into a reactive load is smaller sounding too, but they do retain some of the heft from the power amp -- I am wondering if a Warm Audio WA-73 mic pre might make the IR-X sound bigger, because I am just using my Audient interface's mic pres -- I doubt it, but maybe it will -- I need to borrow one, so I can avoid buyer's remorse if it does not work).
The JMP clone had some hiss and now sounds broken. We might have fried something when blasting it. I will need to make an appointment for it to see the amp doctor. That's something I like about plugins. Can't blow them up, or have all the finicky faults amps tend to get.
Thanks for this. You made me search my inbox for Genome and I got the same email. Schweet!
Awesome been wanting you to review the OPUS but this is even better. Only person I trust to review
Awesome upload Mate, currently $80 USD = $122 AUD. Definitely gonna check this out for what it offers OMFG👍🤘🤘🤘. Just letting you know too, OzCyclones on UA-cam, which the local radio stations catch up with Nitzo regularly, has said there may very well be another severe Cyclone, but this time highly organised and a potential Cat4 from next Saturday, another to watch closely. Apparently at this stage models are saying a Bowen hit, but too far out. Keep posted mate. Cheers. Rock on Brother🤘🤘🤘🤘
Hells yeah. been waiting for this one.
sounds sick 🤘🎸
I’m loving this so far! I never tried the NAM stuff before and it’s pretty amazing. I can’t believe this was free to Two-Notes customers. I honestly would pay for it if I had to.
I got it for free, not even had to ask for it, as I own a second hand torpedo live (one of their first product released a long time ago). Amazing how Two Notes care about their user base... Great company and great products too. And thanks for this excellent demo.
Hope you do some more videos on this software in the future
Genome is landmark start to 2024 🎉🎉😊😊
Holy shit this sounds amazing. I think I'm gonna buy this
Cool man. I saw the email come thru this week and I downloaded the VST tonight and fired up Reaper. It’s pretty cool. Sounds and reacts better than Positive Grid to me right off the bat. Will give it some attention this week and see how I dig it.
08:22 really digging the UltraDrive pedal into a crunch channel here !
Just tried it out with some guitar DIs, using a H&K 412 w greenback DynIR (Green Tri) with 1 SM57 (it also slayed with other mics from the same cab) almost dead center and it works like a charm.
Also tried the V shape EQ (which is something you often do i your vidz) after the ampsim, with the guitar Eq pedal sim, and it's great too !
Genome is awesome! I hope that you'll share some nice Metallica presets with us 🙂
I tell you those Metallica clean tones are AMAZING. For someone who is just trying to wrap their head around it, in a short amount of time, you seemed to be able to put together a pretty amazing promo video for the software.
I've got to ask you though, how do you decide what you are going to play through? You've got the Marshal DSL; the Boss Katana; the Victory Kraken; pretty sure there's a Mesa Boogie in there somewhere.... Neural DSP SIMS and now this.... Add in your incredible ability to dial in pretty much any artist tone... your options are limitless. So... my curiosity is, when do you choose the amps vs the DAW, etc... Just curious really.
Thanks again for showcasing more great gear!
It's cool. Traditional amp manufacturers face a future with a much smaller market footprint. It's their camera moment, the likes of Canon, Pentax, Ricoh etc, they have nowhere near their pre smartphone sales revenues. Demand for new amps will literally evaporate over the coming decade.
wow, great sounds, just received the email from two notes because I have a captor, can't wait to try it after work, thanks again
can you try and tone match St. Anger please Lamb? THE most underrated Metallica ever.
I second that. Would be great.
Third that, St.Anger fans unite!@@badass6300
Best used with NAM.
Great demo. Your Metallica tones (especially the cleans) are killer.
I love using the flatback V (inspired by the Mesa Mark V) on Genome.
o men !!...
What are you using to plug the guitar in to the computer? I'm worried about latency therefore never used any pc stuff
I have a focusrite clarret usb. They’re all pretty good these days, even the focusrite Scarlett or solo. As long as you set the audio buffer in the daw audio settings to be 192-96mbps or so you’ll have a latency that will only be a few mili seconds and you won’t notice any lag
Unrelated, what pickups did you swap into your Joe Duplantier sig? were you not digging the Di Marzios ?
I put Duncan distortions in there. The fortitude sounded good but a little low in output for my liking. I found I wasn’t playing it as it was always under cooked. I tried the sh6 and never glanced back. It’s awesome now
@@LambChopper678 I have had similar feelings about mine at times, but just usually crank whatever boost I am using a little bit more, might still do something similar to you eventually
I’m a registered two notes customer and received the free download via an email
Loaded it onto my Mac mini and opened my universal audio Luna daw but do not see Genome only two notes torpedo
Im digging into plugins lately for home use, is it possibly to run it trough a real cab? Like instead of computer speakers? Thanks!
Not really mate, it’s designed to give a finished product like in a studio
Well yes you can actually :)
Just reamp a preamp only thing from Genome into a poweramp (dedicated unit, or Fx return of a regular amp (preamp + poweramp) connected to a guitar cab.
But there aren't a lot of "preamp" only codex profiles available. You can also try out pedal sims (including the codex ones) in genome, reamped into your poweramp (hooked up to cab).
There are like Bogner ecstacy pedals and all that good stuff there.
What audio interface you use here ?
Focusrite Clarett 2pre usb. It’s OK, I think I’m going to get something better soon enough though
Can I have your glasses??
What is the DAW you run? Sorry I missed it
He didn't say. He just said that Genome doesn't have a stand alone mode, so you have to run it in a DAW. Hopefully Two Notes will add stand alone capability going forward.
I have Logic Pro X but there’s loads of free ones out there
Thx my man. Love your channel.@@LambChopper678
Two Notes has a stand alone version in the works. Unknown timeline, but they have confirmed it is coming.
Hey, multiband compressor below 60hz have it drop off -inf and it will clean up the chugs and low end.
Nice of two note to give it to customers for free
