My grandma used to sing this to me at night, she got Alzheimer’s and didn’t remember me for 10 years, then on her deathbed grabbed my hand and whistles this song to me… crazy experience
@kaitlindale5302 I was randomly searching the internet, looking for this song, thinking about Grammie, and I land on the one you posted on. Crazy! ❤❤
My grandma didn't remember me either but remembered my birthday go figure
Music has the power to do that, I tell you!
Love this amazing I’m so glad that happened you will have that in your heart forever xxxooo
Your memory just made me cry like a baby..❤ THANK YOU for sharing! 😊
There was and never will be another voice like Patsy. ❤
What a line not for just a hour, not just a day and not just a year but always:)
Jesus is King!!!
When my husband was alive, I told him this was one of our songs and it always made me ugly cry. Now that its coming up on his 2nd anniversary of dying, I'm playing our song and remembering how much I loved him, not for just an hour, not for just a day, not for just a year, BUT ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!! And I'm ugly crying. :)
dear heart, not "ugly crying," but lovely crying because of LOVE.
My parents played "Always" at their wedding, and my husband and I played it for our wedding too. I sang it for him throughout his hospital stay and as he took his last breath. He died 3 years ago this month and every time I hear it I cry - haven't been able to sing it through since. I feel you. We were forever and always.
@@dtuckerhsd4869God bless you. Your comment made me cry.
My dad got a gem he didnt deserve my mom they 58 years married hes 87 shes 82 last night he said im getting old she said no theres lots of people older than you .she always encouaged him
I love her voice.
It's like sipping the finest smoothest Tennessee whiskey.
My Mom passed away December 22nd of 2020 and she was not only my confident but my true cheerleader through all my ups and downs and this song gives me comfort to here because I know she is in her own way still there for me ❤
Written by Irving Berlin for his wife, sung by the greatest vocal stylist of any genre. I had a live band at my wedding reception, but this recording is what we had for our first dance. Not for just an hour, not for just a day....
Beautiful song, but possibly not by Irving Berlin. He had some ghost writers. I know because we bought a house in suburban New York, when I was a boy (c 1961), and I found in the attic many sheets of music composed by the former house owner for Irving Berlin. Nothing wrong with this--the ghost writer had no famous name to get published, and Berlin needed songs as he had a hungry outlet for his music.

Patsy singing an Irving Berlin tune...Priceless!
In 1962, as a candy stripper, I heard an intern play this song, while playing the piano, dedicating it to a nurse he loved. An extremely lovely memory. Though a romantic song, I write the lyrics for deeply felt friendships. Few friends but cherished by the memories of times together. Whoever wrote those lyrics, touched the heart of many, like me .
Who, in their right mind, could give this song a thumbs down????
the two obviously are not in their right mind!!
Only a knobhead
They want that swingin', upbeat, catchy Patsy - with the slgnature country sound , slide and pedal steel guitar backing her.
This song 'Always' is considered "too feminine" , too scary and emotional of a subject for Real Men.. "Commitment" !!
And soothing sounds behind her solemn singing , - an orchestra ??!! Oh no Siree Bob. Us boys aint havin' no sissy violins ! Get out them fiddles and saw up some real country sounds!
They want to hear a jilted, teary helpless Worman crying - 'Crazy' and ' l Fall to Pieces" keeps them broads in their place !
They are truly out of touch...
“ that’s when l’ll be there “ ❤
My Mom used to sing this all the time, along with other Patsy Cline songs. I can remember even when I was about 4 yrs old. This song just caused tears. Makes me miss my Mom so much.
Dear heavens what a wonderful voice!!
A beautiful song I think of my Sister she learned this song for me she is in heaven now 😅
One of my most favorite songs. My Aunt used to sing it to my Uncle, they were just the most loving couple.
My parents married in 1955. This was their song. Dad signed every card to my mother, "Love Always," until the day he died, Dec. 2022.
That’s beautiful
incredible
Different era, but still a very nice performance!
Truly a great country singer.
Beautiful songs she sang !Love this song ! Always !!❤🎶🙏🌹👍
Beautiful ❤ Thank you very much!💐👏👏👏
Hello Polixenia ,how are you doing?
Deep in my heart
"Always" was sung in the film, "Pride of the Yankees," 1942. Written by Berlin (probably) in 1926 for his second wife, after death of his first wife.
Awesome song!
So lovely ❤

Days may not be fair, always
That’s when I’ll be there, always
Not for just an hour
Not for just a day
Not for just a year, but always
Days may not be fair, always
That’s when I’ll be there, always
Not for just an hour
Not for just a day
And, not for just a year, but always
What a wonderful version, she sings it beautifully. ❤❤
Yes Wayne, a very nice version of this song. Pasty puts her on spin on the song, very refreshing. She had a beautiful voice, an a lovely individual.
I’m not a big country fan but her voice is remarkable
Fair enough. But good news is there's plenty of choice: Go for Sinatra's or Leonard Cohen's version
Maybe I'll make this "our song" when I find him. Love her voice!
So Very TRUE are those words for People Very Much in “LOVE ❤❤” after 5,10,20,30,40,50,60” Years of Marriage… Patsy Cline a Genuine Classic Singer ♥️♥️♥️♥️

can anyone tell me what Classic Movie this was in??
First time I heard the song but not by Patsy, the movie was pride of the Yankees. The Lou Gehrig story. I kept this song in my heart until I met my wife Linda and this was our wedding song and we would sing it to each other until the day she passed away.
I found an answer using Google search: "The Pride of the Yankees." " Who sang Always in Lou Gehrig movie? This is featured throughout the 1942 Lou Gehrig biopic The Pride of the Yankees, starring Gary Cooper and Teresa Wright. During a nightclub scene, it's played by Ray Noble and His Orchestra and sung by Bettye Avery.
